I needed my transmission fluid exchange/clean done on my 2015 Hyundai Elantra and the dealer wanted over $300. I began to look around and remember seeing this store on my way home. I figured I'd give them a a shot and was impressed with how modern and clean their facility was. Michael was my advisor and answered all my questions, plus I learned they charged a lot less than my dealer and comparable (or less) than non dealer quotes. The hot me in and out quicker than they promised and even offered a military discount (10%). The wait area is comfortable with usb and outlets located at every seat. They also have coffee, sodas, and snacks. I believe this store is their "model" store and really new. They did a COMPLETE care review, which included pictures or their findings sent to my phone. Very reassuring because my car is 5 years old with over 75,000 miles on it. They did not try to "up-sell" me like the dealer, or Firestone and the one thing they suggested I agreed that I needed and their price was very reasonable. They did not try to pressure my to get it done now, but needless to say I booked another appointment on the spot. Glad I stopped in and I I've found my new go to place for my car. read more

Good 1-stop shop for repairs and maintenance if you know nothing about cars, but be aware they will take their sweet time! Regardless of why you bring in your car, they will inspect it to see if there's anything else that needs to be repaired or replaced. This is fine and good if this is what you want, and it's helpful if you know nothing to little about cars and if you don't do any of the basic maintenance yourself. But if you want something specifically checked out and fixed, for me they are overly thorough and take too much time trying to find other things wrong to give you the option to fix. This used to be my go-to place for auto repair and oil changes since so close to my house but I probably won't be coming back, everytime I come in it just takes longer that what I think is reasonable. For oil changes, expect about 2 hours. If you take your car in for an oil change and say all you want is an oil change, they will still take your car for a drive around the block and do an inspection, and tell you all the other things you need to get done besides the oil change. Last year I had squeaking brakes. They checked my brakes and put lube on the brake pads, this fixed the problem but it took 4 hours! and I have no idea why it needed to take so long. Last week I had a tire that kept going flat, so brought it in to get checked out, it took them 50min to tell me it was because there was a nail in the tire and they couldn't fix it. It took so long because the mechanic always checks out other things with the car, like air filter, oil, battery, etc even though I didn't ask them to and they didn't ask me if I wanted them to do so. Overall prices not ridiculously high, but not inexpensive eap either, about same as most other places, they will eventually get the job done but it takes a lot of time. read more

I went today for an oil change and was very impressed. The establishment was clean and they have an area with snacks and coffee. I also noticed each chair has a plug and in the back, they had a table so you can bring your laptop to do some work. I was really impressed with the inspection, they send you a text with pictures of everything they inspected and videos of what each part does. I know nothing about cars and I always feel very vulnerable going to mechanics because I don't want to take advantage but this place was great and well, honest! I made an appointment online and it was an easy check in process. All the workers were wearing masks and the waiting area was spotless. There are some nice windows into the bay so you can watch your car being worked out. No delays in the processing of my car and they sent me updates to know at what stage my car was at. After waiting 5 hours for an oil change that they told me would only take 45 minutes at Goodyear I needed to find a new place. The 2 times I've been here they've been quick and helpful. I noticed that my car back tire was leaking air, and they found the hole and told me they were unable to fix it, so no charge to me. They they walked me through my next steps of finding out if I had a warranty then it's covered and if not then they'll order and fix it tomorrow. I also love their interior. I went there to have my tires rotated, wheels balanced, and oil changed. Service was friendly, reasonably fast, and well done. So, I took the wife's car to check some slow leaks she thought she was having. They gave it a thorough check and found nothing but they also checked her brakes while they had it up and found some pads that need replacement soon. So I took my car here before to have the AC fixed and things seemed to run well after. Cost me over $1300 but the service was decent. I took my car back because I was having an issue. They charged me $250+ for a diagnostics test(2 for some reason, so separate charges ) apparently my head gasket blew and they gave me a song and dance about having to send off my car to get it repaired and would cost $8000-$10000 to do so. Well I paid for the useless diagnostics and took it down the street to another repair shop and they charged me NOTHING to analyze my car. They told me immediately what was wrong and I won't even discuss the price difference to get my car fixed. I feel completely raked and if they didn't want to service my car they should just say so. I won't ever go there again that's for sure! This mechanic took advantage of me. I had confidence in this mechanic because I've visited their location on N Dale Mabry and received great service, but I took my car into the one on Gandy and had a horrible experience. I took my car in with problems with the rear differential and needed a catalytic converter replaced. It was driving when I took it in, but was making loud noises. They charged me two diagnostic fees for the two problems even though they can be determined with the same test. So I paid $200. When I received the quote to fix the car I decided it was not worth the money to repair it (I was planning to get a new car) and requested they not work on it. When I picked up my car, it started but wouldn't drive more than three feet forward and eventually wouldn't even start. I limped it into a parking lot and called them back and the mechanic blamed it on the catalytic converters. I paid to have my car towed to my house only to open the hood and find that the engine cover was screwed on wrong, multiple screws had been lost and the vacuum tube that connects the air box to the engine was left disconnected- which is what caused my car to be undrivable. When I called to complain, the operator at this location was very rude. He denied that they ever touched those parts of the car. I tried to explain that even if they didn't disconnect the parts, they were lost/came undone while my car was under the care of the mechanic. He refused to accept any responsibility for the disconnected vacuum tube and missing screws and would not give me any kind of refund. He almost hung up on me. I believe that after they gave me the diagnostic and I didn't want further service, the mechanic threw my car back together. I could've gotten in a wreck pulling out of the mechanic as they gave me a car that would shut off in the middle of the road. Essentially I paid $200 for them to run one test, pull a bunch of parts off and hand my the keys to an undrivable car. I think because I'm a woman, they thought I wouldn't look under the hood and discover their slap-shod work. Never trust this location. I was past due on an oil change and typically go to the dealership but did not want to deal with the process always taking 4-5 hours even with an appointment. I reached out to friends about who they use and was referred to try Honest1. I'm so glad I did. I called the morning of and they scheduled me for 1:00 pm. I ended up getting there earlier around 12:30 and they were done within an hour. They took photos and made notes of the service along with recommendations for other repairs. I received a advertisement card at my home that stated FREE estimates for repairs. I was thrilled, because I needed new brakes and rotors for my car. I took my car in to the shop. I was quoted a ridiculously high price to replace my brakes. They also charged me for the estimate, that was quoted "free" in ad. I had brakes replaced at another shop for much less money and a quality job at Southern Tire. I would have given less than one star if possible. When I went in with my dead battery that was just jumped, they told me to first call my dealer, because they thought perhaps the battery was still under warranty. I didn't think it would be.
