During the service, the manager told me that the technician had accidentally stripped the drain plug. I was told they were working on a solution. About 30 minutes later, I was told they had re-tapped the drain and that the car was good to go. I trusted what I was told and left. At my next oil change, I discovered that they had not re-tapped the drain as I was told. Instead, a permanent plug had been installed. The manager had me visit the full-service Fowler store, where I was told someone would fix the issue. I made the trip, only to have the garage refuse to even inspect the car. After multiple emails, texts and calls, I eventually spoke with an area manager. Despite the fact that their technician damaged the drain plug and I was specifically told the issue had been repaired, Jiffy Lube ultimately refused to correct the problem. Mistakes happen. What matters is how a company handles them. In this case, Jiffy Lube damaged my car, gave me inaccurate information about the repair, sent me to another location that wouldn't help, and ultimately refused to take responsibility. It cost me $1,076 dollars to replace the oil pan this week. I'd strongly recommend Tampa consumers think twice before trusting local Jiffy Lubes with their vehicle. Keep your receipts, document everything, and don't assume that a problem they cause will be taken care of.
