I pulled into the parking lot around 5:38 p.m. on a Friday in July and immediately looked around in disbelief. I was...the only car there. What the heck?! You mean I don't have to stand in line for ice cream? BEST. DAY. EVER! Since there was absolutely no pressure from a line of hungry people behind me, I happily took my time studying the menu before settling on what was clearly the correct life choice. A Kids' Sundae for $5.50. Here's where it got AMAZING. I picked their Peanut Butter Overload ice cream - peanut butter ice cream swirled with even more peanut butter and peanut butter cups. And then topped it with crushed peanuts, peanut butter syrup, whipped cream and a cherry. And all of my peanut butter dreams came true in the 3B parking lot that evening! As someone who's made of approximately 63.8% peanut butter, this felt less like ordering dessert and more like fulfilling my destiny. It was...glorious! Every bite somehow managed to deliver even more peanut butter than the one before it. The crushed peanuts added just enough crunch, the peanut butter cups kept things interesting and the peanut butter syrup tied everything together into one ridiculously delicious sundae. If you're sensing a theme here, it's because there was A LOT of peanut butter. Exactly as advertised. Exactly as it should be. One thing I really appreciate about 3B is that they don't overcomplicate things. They simply make excellent ice cream, serve generous portions and keep their prices incredibly reasonable. Will I be back? Absolutely! I've been enjoying 3B Ice Cream for years, and this visit reminded me exactly why I keep coming back. Sometimes you don't need the newest trendy dessert shop. Sometimes you just need a really great peanut butter sundae from a place that knows exactly what it's doing.

HERSHEY/HARRIBURG, PA BANANA SPLIT SPOT!…read more Get Yo' Creamie on HERE! With Friendly's disappearing from the Downtown Hershey Scene, where do you go for ice cream these days?!? You figure there'd be something in Chocolate Town USA that would blow your mind, but... surprisingly, not really. To get your creamie cravings satisfied, Thee Spot is 3 B! Located on Derry St. in between downtown Harrisburg and downtown Hershey! Since the early 2000s, once I learned the lay of the land, 3 B has been my favorite, during their open months! Yelp directions are on point, and note, It is not in any strip mall, this spot is a converted humble abode into an Ice Cream Haven! Dedicated parking space and street parking also. Lots of spaced out benches to enjoy your goods in the sun. Staff is patient, friendly & helpful and definitely gives the most generous scoops of any creamery in Chocolate Town! Oh yeah, Let's EAT! BANANA SPLIT: Biggest size Split in the region! Its Ice Cream Tray is big, scoops are big, toppings are generous... that's the way it was back in early 2000s and it still holds true today, 2026!!! Total bang for your buck. Their ice cream sources these days are local vendors Gallagher's & Lieby's. My scoops for today's Split was CHOCOLATE ALMOND, MooseTracks, and STRAWBERRY! Each one chunky with additives, flavors were delightful, and toppings were generous! As always, I Loved it! Still as good as 20 years ago! VERY EASY RECOMMENDATION! During their open months, 3 B is truly the best spot for ice cream in Chocolate Town & PA's Capital! Enjoy!

Before "the internet" was even a thing for regular folks. Basically, I hadn't been back since dinosaurs roamed the earth (aka 30-ish years ago). And honestly? Not much has changed--and that's exactly what makes it perfect. Picture this: 50's-style décor, a pavilion full of those old-school round concrete tables, and a line of ice cream lovers spilling out the door and halfway into the parking lot. I showed up on the Friday of Labor Day weekend and sure enough--limited parking, crowds everywhere, and people walking around holding ice cream creations so glorious they could've been centerpieces at a wedding. After standing in line (and mentally preparing for glory), I found my holy grail: The Stinson Special. Peanut butter ice cream loaded with Reese's Puffs, Reese's Pieces, peanut butter cups, and a peanut butter swirl. Basically, peanut butter on peanut butter on PEANUT BUTTER. No way was I risking this masterpiece in a cone--two scoops in a bowl, please and thank you. A few minutes later, I heard the call: "STINSON SPECIAL--TWO SCOOPS!" That was my moment. I grabbed my prize, slid into a concrete table under the pavilion, and...oh. my. goodness. It was orgasmic. Every single bite was a peanut butter explosion with different textures and crunches--smooth, swirly, chocolatey, crunchy perfection. Halfway through I had to take an intermission to gather strength before diving back in. Worth every bite. Next time, I'm hunting down the pulled pork sandwich I haven't had since the 90s--if it's even half as good as I remember, I'll be in foodie heaven all over again. Pro tips: - Get there early. - Expect a line (and enjoy the people-watching). - Have a game plan for where you're eating, because the inside is way too crowded for a proper foodgasm. Kristy's Whistle Stop is still doing its thing after all these years...and its thing is absolutely worth the trip.

Topped with a perfect amount of cheese sauce, just the right hit of Old Bay, and a nice touch of chives, they absolutely deliver. My one suggestion? Skip the butter. It's unnecessary and ends up making the fries soggy, which is a shame when the fries themselves are this good. We also tried the crab fries, and while the crab meat isn't lump, it's still a solid topping. Just make sure they warm it up, because ours came out cold straight from the fridge sitting on top of hot fries. A small fix that would make a big difference. Now, the hot dog... I'd steer clear. It's deep fried, and mine came out burnt and dry. To make matters worse, it was served on a steak roll that was cold and tough. It just doesn't hold up to the star of the show. Overall, 4 out of 5 stars, and honestly that rating is carried by how incredible those fries are. We'll definitely be back, and next time I'm skipping the hot dog and going straight for more fries and maybe giving their burger a shot.
