I truly question why there are not more of these places around. It's a missed opportunity with consistent clientele (albeit out of necessity). This place was recommended by our preschool. Even though our girls have grown out of that age, the problem of head lice continues in any school environment. It is very much worth the peace of mind to have a place to go to for expert screening, treatment, and advice - all in one! The products are really great, but a little expensive. The ladies have always been very kind and down-to-earth. The experience can be scary for kids, so they really do a nice job of taking away the stigma of head lice, and calming the children. If one of you has lice, take the whole family quickly! Our daughter had it worst, then me, the mom, but surprisingly our son, who cleared the school nurse's inspection, did too! Dad escaped lice-free and they reduced the price to just a screening for him. We tried home treatments for all of us the day before and, despite that, Honeycomb pulled out nearly 200 nits and live bugs from our daughter's hair, 75 from me, 22 eggs and 2 lice from our son. We go back for our follow up treatment tomorrow. The itching, the laundering of everything, the diligence to boil and de-louse is so much work. They gave me instructions on how to beat it and I have much more peace of mind AND SCALP. We bought their hair products too. Worth the investment. I will write more after the follow up treatment. Excellent service! They know what they're doing here. After sitting at home for 2 hours with my kiddo picking out nits and lice by hand...I had enough! I remember seeing the Honeycomb poster by the street exiting the Fwy at Shoup so I called and gave them a shot and I'm so glad I did!! They did the ALL NATURAL treatment on me and my daughter in 30 minutes, didn't rush us and answered ALL of my questions. I was so impressed with the ladies working there. I was devastated to hear that my kids had lice. I had the heebie jeebies knowing there were little bugs crawling in my children's hair - and my hair! Thankfully we were all able to come into the salon and get treated the very same day. From beginning to end all of the ladies were so sweet and good with my kids. Unfortunately my whole family had lice recently. I am a total germ freak, and I was mortified that my kids and I had lice. I found Honeycomb, and they did such a thorough job of inspecting and ridding us of lice. The staff is really nice, the owner is very sweet, and the place is clean!! As horrible of an experience it is to deal with lice, Honeycomb really makes the situation manageable. And surprisingly, they are very reasonably priced. I highly recommend this place. The staff was very courteous and professional. I took my kids for a head check and they were very meticulous. They did not push their product line at all, provided me with information and they guarantee their work. They actually style long hair into braids or buns - you have to keep it up for a little while - and my daughter walked out with a GORGEOUS braid. Their prices are very reasonable as well. DO NOT USE THIS SALON! There are plenty others out there. For approximately the same amount they will even come to your house! My daughter got lice in October. I paid for the family members that she resides with to get checked. I took her to the recommended two visits. They found eggs the second time, but said that they had got them all. Two months later we discovered such a bad infestation that it took 13 hours over four days to get them all out. The timeline fits that she had full grown lice in her hair. The timeline for lice to become full-grown is between 40-50 days. They claim that it was because she was around the same kids. Well, we pulled our daughter out of the school where she got lice from the day after we found out, so that theory doesn't work. If you use this salon, I would definitely make sure you get your child re-checked in the warrantied 3 weeks. I did not have her re-checked because I trusted their work. Big mistake on my part! If you are ever unfortunate enough to find lice in your kids' hair, go to these people. We initially tried dealing with the problem ourselves, buying the shampoo and comb at a drug store, combing the girls' hair carefully in a process that took an hour per kid, boiling things, washing things, etc. Well, apparently we did not do a good enough job, cause after a week we were back to square one. Someone at school recommended Honeycomb, and since their prices were reasonable and I was exhausted, we gave them a try. Oh. My. God! The best investment in my sanity ever! My kids actually enjoyed it when these people quickly but painstakingly combed their hair! Not even joking. It was like a spa day for them. And they gave us very clear instructions on how to treat the home, and made a follow up appointment for a few days later to make sure there were no eggs or anything else left too. And among the available products, there was a spray for hair that smells good to us but apparently not to lice. Now any time I have knowledge of anyone having lice any place my kids go to, I spray their hair with it in the morning, and we have been lice free ever since (2 and a half years). Bottom line, going to these people is worth every penny, and is going to be a lot easier and successful than battling lice yourself. read more
