Based on the fictional sweets shop made popular in the "Harry Potter" universe, this real-life version of Honeydukes is pure sugar-coated magic. Tucked right in the heart of Hogsmeade in the Wizarding World of Harry Potter section of the Universal Studios Orlando theme park, this charming little shop feels like it's been pulled straight out of the Harry Potter films. It's ridiculously photogenic with its pastel walls, crooked shelves, and jars of glittering sweets stacked to the ceiling. Oh, and it smells A-MA-ZING inside! The candy selection is both whimsical and weird. You'll find Chocolate Frogs with collectible wizard cards, Fizzing Whizzbees that "pop" just enough to make you giggle, and Bertie Bott's Every-Flavour Beans, which range from tasty to absolutely gross (this has to be a favorite with the kiddos). They also have a cooler that sells cold Potter-themed water as well as standard sodas. There's a small bakery case that has other treats that look great but are disappointing. The overpriced cupcake with glittery pink frosting that I got was a little stale. Prices here are on the higher side, but since this is a fully immersive theme park, remember that you're paying for the experience as much as the candy. It's right across from the train ride to Universal Studios Florida. This store is packed with sweets! This is a must stop if you're visiting Hogsmeade. It's hard to go into Honeydukes and for it not be packed with people. Maneuvering through the shop can be a challenge with the crowds- I honestly wonder about how many people some of the shops in the Wizarding Worlds can actually handle without being a hazard. That being set aside- the sweets are pretty irresistible. My boys had a list of things they wanted- chocolate frogs was one of the items, but rest assured I took a place in line for them as they navigated the people-y store to grab goodies and pass them to me. So much yes! To my other die-hard Potter fans - they have pretty much all of the things from the book, which I loved! (Though I'm pretty sure sugar quills aren't supposed to be brightly colored due to Ron's remark about being able to enjoy them during class...) The have peppermint toads, exploding bonbons, Bertie Bott's Every Flavor Beans, chocolate frogs, cauldron cakes... and the list goes on and on! They also have fudge and caramel apples. We got the witches hat cupcake and the cupcake in the cauldron which comes with a silicone cauldron where you can bake into again ( which explains the double price of the regular cupcake). I think they need to figure out a better way to streamline ordering and picking up the items because we ended up with several people waiting in a tiny corner of the store for our items. And Honeydukes is definitely the place the kids go to spend their Wizarding money of Bronze Knuts, Silver Sickles, and Golden Galleons. If you want to partake in the fun, you can exchange your Muggle dollars for Wizarding bank notes at Gringotts located in Diagon Alley just a minute's walk away. While in the Wizarding world 29 Knuts equal one Sickle, and 17 Sickles make up a Galleon, at Gringotts, they simplify the exchange to 1:1 between Muggle Dollars and Wizarding Notes. The money can be used anywhere in Hogsmeade Village and the Wizarding Village at Universal studios, but change is given back to you in Muggle dollars. Honeydukes is filled with all the items from the franchise, from chocolate frogs, to peppermint toads, to exploding bon bon's; from Bertie Bott's Every Flavor (Jelly) Beans, to Cauldron Cakes and Caramel Apples. They also carry carry an assortment of fudge and hard candies. Everyone talks about the outrageous prices of the candy in this store; the Bulk hard candy goes for $17 per pound, and a small box of jelly beans or a chocolate frog will run you $12.00+taxes. I agree that it's expensive, but it doesn't shock me. These prices actually fall in line with those at the movie theater (which we all know is also outrageously expensive) and candy sells for a little over $1 per ounce! And just like the movie theater, we still buy it to complete that movie night experience. Oh and in case you're wondering, a small square of fudge is $5, but they have a special, you can get 6 pieces for the price of 4 (if that's any consolation...) This visit, we tried some of the uniquely flavored hard candy sold in bulk. With COVID, this section is actually roped off and a worker mans the wall. You let them know how much of each you want and they fill your bag as best they can. I told them the number of pieces of each candy to test their skills, and I must say, the girl looking after me had some skills! She was only over by one candy out of my 4 different selections. We also purchased a square of the Butterbeer fudge, some Every Flavor Beans, and some sugar sticks. Total damage, $38. Yes, the place is over-priced, but you're at Universal Studios, so most people expect it... Ummm....this is one of my favorite spots!!! Love it here. We cannot leave without loading up on soooo many treats, it is ridiculous! The store is so adorable and themed, if you are a fan, you must visit at least once! The decor alone is reason to enter. It is a bit tight, just to make others aware, since it is still pandemic times. They do watch the crowds and limit the amount of people entering. They also have marked the floor for the line at the check out area. We have purchased so many things, too many to recommend, but you can't go wrong with anything here. The kids like the chocolate frogs, they are very large, good for sharing. But if you don't want such a big piece of chocolate, the peppermint toads are perfect. The exploding bonbons are citrus with popping rocks, and really fun. If you like pop rocks, the fizzing whizbees are also very tasty and fun. We just purchased caramel cobwebs, not sure how they taste yet, but they look good. I have never been disappointed with the chocolate candy here. We tried the quill pen, you can actually write with the bottom part. My daughter loves the lemon sherbert hard candies that Dumbledore is fond of. We buy it in the Honeydukes signature green and pink metal box. But if you do not like sour lemon, you may purchase other bulk candy in the souvenir boxes. If you are staying on property, you may purchase your prepackaged candy and get it sent back to the hotel so it does not melt in the hot sun. It is a great service, we use it every time, and I highly recommend it. It also save times, so you do not need to rush back before leaving to get the candy. They also sell fresh sweets and foods. I absolutely love and cannot visit without getting the pumpkin cake. If you are a pumpkin spice fan and Fall fan like myself, it is a must try treat. It is like pumpkin spice meets a hint of orange. When I think of a candy store, I think of a place that makes me feel like a little kid again. That's Honeydukes for sure. Not only is it located on the street with all of the Harry Potter themed shops, rides, and places to eat... but pretty much everything inside is Potter themed too. From the "every flavor" jelly beans to the chocolate frogs, it's really cool to see some of the awesome looking sweets from the movie come to life. They also have a pretty remarkable bakery section too. Everything looks like it was made to be put in the films themselves. From chocolate caramel-covered apples to a cauldron-shaped chocolate cake, everything here looks too good to eat. My favorites were the assorted fudges. Fortunately for us, we were near Honeydukes candy store and ran in for shelter, along with a multitude of other tourists. As it should be, Honeydukes is a shop in Hogsmeade that you can buy delicious delicacies from. They have the chocolate frogs, the Bertie Bott's every flavour beans, treacle fudge, and various other tempting treats. It's quite colorful and fun. There are several cute little cakes, like the pumpkin pastie, that I would have loved to try. The fudge and caramel apples, and pumpkin juice are all gluten free but many of the other delicious items, while looking magical, are probably sprinkled with extra gluten. Such a cute fun store! I am a huge HP geek! I bought a pile of things to try, including lots of the wall free fill candies, fizzing whizzbees, every flavor beans, chocolate frog, cauldron cake, pumpkin pasty, newt cookie, PBJ ice cream, and salt water taffy. The sweet and sour drops were insanely sour and are probably the only thing we would buy again candy wise...and we would buy a full bag...very good! I wanted to love the fizzing whizzbees...great idea! But sadly HP chocolate as a whole is really not good chocolate! I get it is meant to be more for the experience but at the price point it would be nice if universal would improve the quality. Lots of people shop there but it is a one and done kind of thing...if they improved the quality...people could crave it! I ended up chopping the frog up and putting it into chocolate chip cookies...only way to salvage the poor chocolate. The flavor beans are fun but I still have lots...definitely a novelty item. The first one I ate I'm pretty sure was dirt flavor...yes dirt. Makes you nervous to try another but fun. I got the souvenir tins for both the chocolate front and every flavor beans...again a one and some but fun. Everyone was raving about the cauldron cake but I did not love it....loved the silicone cauldron it came in but again universal should work on flavor! Same with pumpkin pasty. The newt cookie however was a slam dunk! AMAZING and I will 100% order again on my next visit! PBJ not amazing...might be better at florean's when not prepackaged. If you're a fan of the Harry Potter books or movies, you've definitely heard of Honeydukes and should visit this hop when at Universal. It is colorful and jam-packed with just about every type of candy mentioned in the HP universe. I highly recommend the fudge (butterbeer flavor was my fave) and the chocolate frogs, while my daughter liked the peppermint frogs. The store is quite small and there is not much room to move around and browse. If you can stop here in when you first arrive before it gets busy, that might be best (but then you have to carry chocolate around in the Florida heat all day). It would be nice if they had a place to pick up your purchases from the shop at the exit so you didn't have to risk it melting while exploring the parks (wishful thinking). The worst thing about the store is the purchasing process. Plan on waiting in line a long time (not as long as rides, but longer than it should be). When you get up to the counter you can pay for things you have picked out in the store. However, if you want something from behind the counter (fudge, baked goods, cauldron cakes, chocolate wands) you tell the clerk who writes it down, pay for it, then wait in another line. Yep, that's right, instead of just grabbing the items you want when you get to the counter, the clerk writes it down, and then someone else gets it together and gives it to you later. I really do not understand the reasoning behind this process as it seems to add to the time customers wait exponentially. Given the small size of the store, especially near the counter area, this means there is always a backup of customers near the exit who are waiting for their orders. If you are just breezing through WWoHP and want to check out a shop before you leave, choose Honeydukes. It is usually the least crowded of all the souvenir shops at WWoHP. Insider tip: Chocolate frogs melt fast in the Orlando heat! If you want to buy one as a souvenir, wait until you are leaving Islands of Adventure. A five star shop with a one star range of prices makes for a three star review. 15 bucks for a chocolate frog? Seriously? It costs them less than a buck to make the thing. It was cool to see some of the candies from the books, but when you get buy someone an owl for $15 or an Olivander's wand for $30, why would you buy Every-Flavor Beans or a Chocolate Frog for nearly the same price? A slightly older review has a chocolate frog at 10 bucks. They must be raising their prices. C'mon now. read more

Cool place but whatever you do, don't get any of the baked goods from the case. They're all stale. I think they use the leftovers from the other bakeries or something. I bought three items and we threw them all away. read more

Great store if you're a sweet addict but it's all very expensive. A choc covered frog cost $11! Jr. Yelper had to buy one and Hubby had to buy a jar of "U No Poop" for $7. It's a glass jar basically filled with green colored M&Ms. He plans to stick it in the bathroom for laughs. I told him it's expensive M&Ms just for toilet decoration. We tried 2 items in the pastry section - the vanilla cupcake with huge dollop of pink butter cream was very pretty but didn't taste that good. Because the butter cream was so large, it made for awkward eating and after consuming 1/3 of it, it fell right off the top of the cupcake. Spent $5 to lose the butter cream. The choc cauldron cake was very moist and good. For $4, I'd get the choc cake again and skip the vanilla cupcake. read more
