This was a fun store with quite a bit of really interesting merchandise. They have quite a bit of vintage stuff and there was just so much to see. My kids were doing a bit of shopping and then ended up picking up a couple of items and I spent most of my time chatting with the one woman who worked there. They did enjoy some of the clothing but couldn't find items that they liked in their size but there were some really nice items in the counter that got their attention. They both checked out some really cool necklaces and we also looked at flasks and lighters. My youngest found a hat that they just loved and took a picture of the label on it with the idea that they would check it out online at a later date to see if they might buy one. Friendly employees who were very helpful and lots of good stuff. This one is definitely worth shopping in. read more

This came up as a top rated vintage and retro fashion and accessories shop. I visited while doing a day trip to Asheville with my folks. Located in downtown Asheville, it's near a record shop and a parking lot. The parking lot requires you to pay before you go shopping - check the rates posted. We almost parked in the lot until we saw the sign that said weekend rates are a flat all day rate of $6. (Dad decided to look for street parking while I went into the shop as I knew it would be a quick visit.) The staff were all friendly and greeted us upon entering. I think both were in vintage or retro inspired outfits which was great - I like when the employees dress in vintage/retro for the shops they work in as it gives people inspiration for how to style their finds or what they could look for. I heard one of them helping a guy match reds for an outfit he had planned around an item he owned in an existing shade of red and the girl helping him seemed to have good suggestions. Their shop has a mix of jackets, tops, skirts, and dresses. I'll admit I am a bit spoiled with the shops I've found before where they offer vintage as old as turn of the century, and it was a slight disappointment to see pieces that were only as old as 1960. (Also there were a mix of 90s and 00s on the racks.) While I didn't find anything I had to have, it was fun to peruse the shop. read more

Honey Pot is cute and befitting of the vibe of the area. It's a mix of hipster vintage (concert Ts, 70s leather, maxi dresses and western shirts) plus some new kitchy items (sequined capes, tutus, sunglasses). Good selection of moto and cowboy boots, reasonably priced (except for anything Frye - that seemed pricey to me.). A lot of cute 40s/50s beaded clutches and wallets, but for the most part, I'd say this is a 60s-80s era store. Honey Pot skews younger than its sister shop, House of Kismet, which has more classic items and barely anything new (in a good way!). Both are good in their own "genre" and both have really nice and welcoming staff read more

I'll give them two stars for trying, but this is overpriced 80s/90s with a few ugly 70s coats mixed in. Plastic rhinestones, ugly sequins, a sea of bright magenta, turquoise and yellow, 70s furs in every shade of mud, and made in China jewelry and sunglasses made to look "retro". I'm sure this place is a local favorite, but...eek! read more

I saw some cute stuff here. But for me, most of the things I saw were too expensive for what they were. For example, a crew neck I looked at was around $75 and it just said "Coors Light", no designs or anything. To me this is more of a place just to look around. read more

I found this place online and wanted to come check it out! This is a hidden gem in the middle of the city, if you were looking for something unique or a cool gift for one of your quirky friends this is definitely the place! I have cool stuff for guys and gals, go check it out and be sure to stop at Izzys coffee a couple doors down and maybe you'll get lucky and they'll have the lavender mocha they have the day that I was there! this is one of my favorite vintage shops in Asheville--they always have interesting jewelry, and I've begun to collect some carved bone pieces that I have only been able to find here. This was my favourite store I walked in while visiting Asheville recently. I found the coolest pair of earrings by some local artist as soon as I walked in. The displays throughout the store are bright and fun, and everywhere I looked I found something offbeat that I wanted for myself or someone I know - whether it was vintage or local-made. The girl who was working was awesome and super friendly (also very excited that I was buying the rat teeth/jawbone earrings - haha), and I noticed she was happy to help everyone who walked in the store. If I lived in Asheville, I would definitely drop most of my money at the Honeypot. read more

I took my teen daughter and her friend to go vintage shopping downtown. This place was on the top of our list. It was AMAZING!! We could have spent all day in there. It is literally covered from head to toe with something for everyone. My daughter was on cloud 9 bc she found an 90s jacket she has been searching for and i found an assortment of every color imagined of petticoats for my circle skirts. We will be going back again and again I am sure. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is bc the lady behind the counter never talked to us and was giving my daughter and her friend hawk eyes. My daughter is almost 13 and has been vintage shopping since she was a baby. She knows how to behave and be respectful. I was always close by as well. As a customer service professional for over 15 years that is a big turn off for me. I am hoping someone else will be working on our next visit. read more

I absolutely love this infamous Asheville Boutique!! Often imitated never duplicated house of fun has a little something for everyone and every occasion... the owner has and incredible sense of style and that pours into the store...Every inch of the store is filled with hand picked inventory... I know the owner personally and she goes the extra mile to stock ethically made garments... tons of local artists have been supported by the shop for over a decade ...what a gem! Whilst wandering about Asheville, I found the Honeypot. Super rad vintage clothes and accessories. I'm not one for lotsa things so I didn't pick anything up while I was there but I did notice the hosiery that made me think of derby. Stripes and bright colored tights oh my! There were also a lot of tutus in the display window (which originally drew me in). I'll probably pop back in here next time I'm in town. Thanks for the 30 minutes of amusement. read more

The Honeypot is the bestest. Sometimes I go in with the intention of soaking in some ephemeral pleasure from the striking color palette and wonderful aesthetic oddities that lay within. Definitely my go to for cheap, fashionable accessories, organic undies, awesome vintage shoes, and any gifting opportunities that pop up. Beautifully made, locally designed clothes too! As a member of the crude gender, I would have to rank Honeypot as the number 1 vintage spot in town. A vintage store with nearly as large of a selection of mens as there is ladies is a rare find and these folks pull it off with class. Great western style shirts, more cowboy boots than a Dallas rodeo, and an ever rotating selection of rad accessories make this the place to be. Modestly priced and always in great vintage condition, I can routinely put together a head to toe ready to wear outfit . The ladies behind the counter are friendly and kindly treat customers with a sense of casual attention. The lack of pushiness and too hip to be friendly attitudes are much appreciated. But what fun is sticking with the normal people who eat and shower on a daily basis! I am a big boy that has obviously has been well fed his whole life. Before I state why The Honeypot only deserves 3 stars, I'll start by saying a few things that I really like about this tiny shop. First, Honeypot has a really cool collection of antique, used, and unique apparel and accessories. And secondly, they really capture the personality of Asheville and put it into a neat store. However, this store is extremely overpriced. Many of these items you could find on a visit to your local Goodwill for a quarter of the price. While they do offer some really nifty and original items, the price that you will pay for them is too high. read more

I'm always pretty stoked to walk into this store but usually walk around once and don't find much of anything. Most of the vintage and reconstructed stuff that they sell is too silly and out there to actually be wearable, and the things they sell made by independent designers, although really cool, is usually too expensive for me to be that interested. read more

I went to the Honeypot with a budget in mind to buy a gift for a friend, I found an amazing dress within the first 5 minutes I walked in even though the store is really packed with treasures... of course I had a crash on a second dress for myself within the next 5 minutes... I ended up buying the 2 dresses and would have bought much more if I had enough funds that day... but I will be back for sure, they also have an online store! Locals shop here all the time and if you are visiting Asheville you should really drop in and buy some amazing threads. If you were smart you will make this your one stop shop of fashion. This is a delightful store featuring vintage and repurposed clothing. I found a black top with a belt and black and white polka dot peplum. Also, a purple satin witch hat with a black veil for ten dollars in the sale bin! It is a nice place to browse at leisure and features a range of price points. read more

The honeypot logo above the door lends this place to be more expensive than other 'thrift' shops, and it was. One corner was occupied by neon, ruffly, netted, and locally made clothes, some of the tamer ones were actually cute but overpriced for what they were. Another corner had marching band jackets (which, trust me, are no fun to wear) and other odd mens clothing that would probably be better off as costumes. A few racks had 'vintage' clothing which was expensive but not excessively so. Shoes and jewellery were too much to consider, one headband would run you $20-40. One cool aspect of this place were the Mexican wrestling masks they sold - very fun. But 26 dollars? Anyways, I did walk away with one shirt that was cute (although not vintage), and yes it was overpriced for how skimpy it was at 22 dollars, but yes I love it. read more

This store has some of the rudest employees. They usually don't notice me until I've been all around the store once. Has mostly over-priced clothing that you could buy at a thrift store for much less. The only plus is that it sales handmade clothing..but most of it is from other states, not local. read more

Really disappointed with the Honeypot, and especially with the rude behaviour of the young lady behind the counter. Honeypot is an attractive shop, but as we looked around we quickly noticed that the prices were VERY high for a used clothing shop. Paid $30 for a used shirt, once I got it home discovered some stains I had not noticed at the shop, took it back the next day and asked for a refund or an exchange. The young lady behind the counter pointed to a sign "All Sales Final". No empathy, no "oh so sorry" or any of that. Instead she accused me of staining the shirt myself and told me I bought it and I owned it, period. When I asked to speak to the manager, she gave me a business card, and told me to call the manager. I immediately called the number on the card and the phone behind the counter rang, and she told me I would have to keep trying. Real helpful. Her "all sales final" mantra seemed well rehearsed, like she has been telling that story to a lot of tourists for a long time. I've shopped at vintage shops around the country, and several in Asheville, and this was the worst experience and worst service I've ever experienced. When I mentioned my experience to people at other Asheville vintage stores they apologised for the Honeypot rudeness, said that they had been hearing more and more negative comments about Honeypot, and especially the way they treated tourists they will never see again. Don't waste your time or your money, stay away from the Honeypot, there are better places with nicer people in Asheville that will appreciate your business. read more

cutest store in asheville. when i am travelling through it is the only store i make sure to visit and i always leave with something great. the last time i came through i found the coolest bone earring ever, lost it a few months ago and then when i came through i talked with the owner about it. the artist was in the shop and was so sweet and psyched to have a fan. she brought out some new designs for me and i got to take home some serious gems with a connection to the artist. that is the best type of shopping, for sure. outside of that, i enjoy what the owner has collected about the store. very fun shopping experience. read more
