I really wanted to enjoy this experience, but it fell short in a few areas. The food lacked flavor, which was disappointing, especially given my expectations. The hostess didn't come across as very welcoming, which set the tone from the start. The buffet also looked like it had been sitting out for a while, so I chose to order from the menu instead, hoping for something fresher. Unfortunately, that didn't make much of a difference, and the quality still wasn't what I had hoped for. The signs were there but I didn't listen to the strong voice in my head to leave. I have now been here a few times as I have just moved here. For the price to eat. It is a friendly and affordable deal. The owner "lady" is very nice and welcoming. You can order food to go order specialty foods or even go eat there Buffett on the weekends. I would recommend this place as it is the better of the Chinese Buffett's in town. read more

When I need some good Chinese food this is the place that hits the spot hands down especially in Clinton. They have a variety to choose from. Although I would ask that they have egg foo yung but other than oh wait their green tea is the freaking best!!! I ask the owner one time and she had to be limited cause I guess it was a "family" secret but she did say it helped with digestion and gave you some energy especially after scarfing all that food. Ok, I'm normally going to give a place a chance even with negative reviews because everyone has a different opinion on things. That being said, you need to avoid this place at all costs. The food is not fresh. My tea had an odd flavor to it. The chicken was nasty. The white rice had the texture of paste. I don't see how they received a 90 rating from the health inspector. The most horrible Chinese restaurant I've ever been to. Wait staff non existent when we entered for dinner. The decor is dismal and out of the eighties.The food was bland without spices or flavoring and looked as though it had been sitting there since the previous day. The shrimp were overcooked and the many of the selections weren't marked, were hard as rocks and just plain nasty. I couldn't eat any of it, although I did eat the orange slice. When I later explained this to the employee, she said "I understand, it happens a lot." The owner/Manager didn't take my criticism well, especially when I told her I wasn't inclined to pay for food I couldn't eat. She was totally unprofessional, rude and told me that I shouldn't waste her food because it was good. Apparently she doesn't eat there. She then charged me $3.00 for the glass of water! I love Hong Kong City! I've loved it since I was a kid. Their sweet tea is delicious!!! Their Moo Goo Gai Pan is pretty good, but it's sort of a hassle to get it without the meat. I think nastalgia adds a star...but it's still a good place to grab a quick meal. read more

LOVED this place when it opened and some of their dishes simply can not be beat. The Canton chicken and egg foo yung is by far the best I've had anywhere. Their chicken wings are good too. The egg drop soup is the best especially when one has a cold or is sick. The fried rice is great as well. I have been going here since i was a baby. The owners are friends of the family. Since the past 4 years they have been going down hill. Since they lost their best waitress their service sucks. They hire cooks that cant cook. Only thing that taste good that i still go there for is their Canton chicken. Sometimes that isn't even good or cooked at all.
