This used to be a great local take out restaurant when it was the previous owners. We had many random fails under new ownership and continued to give them time to get it together while continuing to support a local business but tonight was my final straw. First off the BBQ SPARE ribs are deep fried for reheating opposed to how they should be done under the salamander. But what really pulled on my last nerve was I ordered the happy family which I've had many times before here a great dish. Lobster, shrimp, chicken, beef and pork with Chinese vegetables. $19 and change with tax ( that's not my complaint I get this economy). Ok no lobster they use Langston lobster which is crawfish not lobster and imitation crab meat which has never been in this dish. Called after about 10 minutes said dive back for refund( explained it's a 30 minute round trip in this rural area asked him to look up my number that's on file to verify that I've been a good loyal customer. This place, is a COMPLETE GEM of a restaurant. We moved here in 2018 from California, and this tiny restaurant, has an incredible menu selection, and I swear, it makes better Chinese style food than any other Asian food restaurant where we were in California. read more

Was going to visit some family and decided we wanted to eat first, found this little gem tucked away. Atmosphere was nice, clean bathrooms. The lady working the counter was kind. I orders the chicken fried rice when I received my food I expected the portions to be normal, but the were huge! Overall a great place to come get lunch that will fill you up. Had the opportunity to try the Seafood Rice with shrimp and it was very tasteful. I had some wings along with it but they wasn't fried crispy enough to my liking but everything and customer service was quick and professional... I do recommend this place for sure. Great food read more

The Jade Garden is a small chain of restaurants that are located in and around Wilmington, NC. This review is of the Jade Garden located in Rocky Point, NC. First, I always think it is amusing when people debate the quality and authenticity of Chinese food from restaurant to restaurant. If you did not know already, what is served at almost all Chinese restaurants in this country is NOT REAL Chinese food. In fact, my guess is that if most American's were presented with authentic Chinese cuisine they would be highly disappointed or run in terror! So, what am I reviewing then? I am reviewing what WE (Americans) call Chinese food. The super sweet sauces...the high salt content...the deep frying...THAT'S America!!! With that said, of the "Chinese" restaurants in the area the Jade Garden holds up quite nicely. I have never ordered anything at the Jade Garden that I did not enjoy. Usually, I will get the Hunan Beef (extra spicy) and it's perfect. It is a nice, even distribution of meat and veggies. The sauce is just right and not too heavy or watery. My personal gauge of a Chinese restaurant's quality is a strange one to some...is the meat too tender? I have found that a great number of Chinese restaurants will take both chicken and steak and tenderize them to the point of gooey mush. There is nothing tasty about ordering steak that dissolves in your mouth! Many Chinese restaurants tenderize their meat in a solution of baking soda and water (I asked once) and it literally turns the meat in to a rubbery like substance. There is nothing wrong with doing this to meat, but it's just not pleasant to eat. If you come across mushy meet at a Chinese restaurant TELL THEM! Since the Chinese themselves do not eat the food that they feed Americans...they have no idea if it sucks! Food ordered here is always made-to-order and you can literally see the kitchen staff spring to action after your order is placed. High flames and woks fly around and moments later you are handed your plate. read more

I'm an OTR driver. Parked across the street for the night. I saw McDonald's Wendy's looked on my phone and saw Jade Garden figured I'd give them a try best decision I did all day I ordered crab Rangoon and a small beef lo mein food was ready within five minutes I was impressed then I take the food to my truck and even more impressed crab Rangoon is awesome the beef lo main plenty of meat not like most places that will give you just vegetables. Loved it will definitely save this location for the next time I'm in Rocky Point. read more

Whodda thunk that Rocky Point would have a decent chinese take out place? I didn't but I'm pleasantly surprised! Jade Garden is fast, friendly, good and reasonable. The perfect combination when I'm running late and need a quick dinner fix. Most everything I've tried on the menu is pretty good from wonton soup, hot and sour soup to the combos. I love the chicken lo mein. I do not recommend the pu pu platter, the crab sticks are nasty, chicken wings are mutantly huge (not flavorful) and the won tons were not crispy enough. The jumbo shrimp were pretty darned good as was the teriyaki beef and spare ribs. So pu pu was batting about 50% success and since this isn't baseball, that's a fail. My biggest gripe is that they don't fry things enough...and that's coming from a Yankee! I love my egg rolls, won tons and anything else from a chinese place to be CRISP, CRUNCHY, and HOT. If they could master that simple task, I'd add a star in a heartbeat. read more

Best Chinese take out! You can't get better Chinese food anywhere! (Except another Jade Garden of course. They have a couple of locations and they are all fantastic.) They know exactly who you are even when you order over the phone and go out of their way to make sure everything is the way you like it.
