I only visit Kent once every few years. Walked in here on May 1st, 2025 around 10:45am. The place looked old, depressing, and needs a beauty make-over. At the seafood area, there's a middle age (Mexican?) man with a white beanie, about 5'9" and medium build body. He was very rude and yelled loudly at a customer, the one and only customer there at the time. It was unbelievable! Of course the customer left without wasting another minute there. I left soon after too. I am thankful that there are so many CLEAN and nice Asian markets in Seattle with good customer service and FRESH products. Hong Kong Market: I always need to remind myself to not go to the deli. Last time I went the banh mi was not very good at all. I was craving a bahn mi sandwich and decided, why not. Let's give it a try again. The combo 1, traditional with pate and Vietnamese pork. Man the bread was at least a day to 2 days old. The pate was sweet and runny, bubbling in the sandwich. Man it was not good at all. They have a very nice menu, but the execution and quality of the sandwich is horrible. Never again for a sandwich here. Don't waste your money. Gotta say this business' parking lot is so frickin' small and hard to navigate through! Not only does it get packed like crazy whenever we drop by, but people park so inconsiderately - over lines, taking up two spaces, leaving carts in empty parking spaces, etc. Now on to the store review - employees are not friendly, most of the Hispanics cannot speak or understand English that well and take way too long to prepare fish requests! The aisles are pretty narrow, so hard to take the cart around nicely. The small deli food items are good, only tried the Grilled Chicken Banh Mi and a Vietnamese Iced Coffee, so not sure how the others taste like. Selection of Asian foods are decent, but some of the veggies are limited and not as fresh looking. Try to avoid coming here, but it's the only close Asian store that has items that we really need to cook certain entrees at home. Otherwise, wouldn't come here at all. read more

I recently went to this Hong Kong Market and asked to have a couple of fishes cleaned. The seafood customer service guy weighed the fish, cleaned, bagged it, and gave it to me. Once I get home, I opened the bag, and this is what I got. Rotten fishes; the meat falls apart from the bones, and it smells! I wish they would have mentioned something. We live very close to the market. While parking may be busy and a bit of a struggle, we have never been sorry we came. Their seafood market has never let us down. Clams, fish, crab...yum! I just finished serving five freshly steamed Dungeness crab to my family. They think I'm awesome and the thanks goes to Hong Kong Market. To top it all off the prices are reasonable. Specifically, I want to do a review for their deli, the Hong Kong Deli. They have the best Banh Mis here in Kent. I usually get the #1 Special that has cha (English Name: Asian Ham), pickled vegetables (daikon and carrots) very tasty and well-pickled, cold cut slices of pork, cucumber sticks, cilantro with egg cream (mayo) and pate. Very flavorful, very tasty; a well-made Vietnamese sandwich. Their other stuff is pretty good like BBQ Pork, Chicken Wings. Minus will talk about the market in general. Ive been getting a lot of crappy stuff from this store like rotten plantain bananas (it looks good from the outside but when you peel it off it has black hard stuff inside), old bread, snacks with mold, but I've never complained or returned them because it costs $5 or less and its not worth 10miles drive back from where I live. But when I got ice cream that looks like 20yrs old for $10.99 I just had to exchange it. The only thing is that I waited 2 weeks because I got sick and didn't have time to return. I even took a picture of it from instagram so it would have stamped date on it from the day I bought it so they would believe that it looks like that when I got it. This place has went all the way down hill. Once upon a time they use to value customers.it's a different story now. 4 thighs use to be around 5$ and now their around 8$. All the products have went up tremendously! I just bought meat here that says it was good till tomorrow 10/16/2021. It was no good on the 10/14/2021 and is now not able to eat after spending over 20 dollars for my steak. I was looking forward to cooking, not seeing it spout after one day of bringing it home. This is terrible and I now will be shopping some where else. I will be going to see what they say about this meat I bought and will give a reply here to the outcome. This store has become a misnomer--it's not about Hong Kong products at all anymore really. The dry goods and frozen goods are generally Chinese or South Asian. There's a surprising amount of Spanish/Mexican products too, but the slant seems to be more mixed South Asian on the whole. Couldn't find a number of products that are standard to Japan, Korea and Hong Kong. I guess they figured you'd go elsewhere like HMart for that or Uwajimaya. I was hoping for a place closer to town where I could find those products, but no, not here. read more

Hong Kong Market has become our to go asian grocery store in the area.  Even though it's a small store, they have everything we look for; from Chinese BBQ to banh mi sandwiches to fresh meat and produce.  We've noticed that the meat selection varies from day to day, maybe it depends on who's working.  It's clean and the seafood area isn't too smelly.  The cashiers are always courteous and efficient.  We usually shop early on the weekends since they get busy and the shared parking lot fills up fast. read more

I came by here on the way home when I needed something quick for quick meals for unexpected guests. The shared parking lot is small but I had no problems finding a spot. People were coming and going. However the stalls are rather small. The place was packed with varying clientele. I was surprised at its cleanliness especially for this neighborhood. It's a small Asian market but it has everything I needed and then some! The prices were reasonable. Their seafood and meats were decent and so were their veggies. There's a deli selling varying BBQ meats, Vietnamese sandwiches. I haven't purchased anything yet from this part of the store. Everything looked delicious though. Maybe one day when I'm not in the mood to cook and I'm in need of something quick. This may be my quick go-to place if I'm need of some last minute items during the week. read more

Nice little Asian market located in Downtown Kent. It's fairly small so it doesn't have a huge selection, but they definitely get the job done and have pretty much all of the basics. Prices are good overall in comparison with similar stores. Produce can be hit or miss. I've never seen *amazing* quality produce there, but it is often "acceptable." Parking here can be surprisingly crazy and there's a ton of activity in the tiny lot. If you come at a busy time, consider street parking a block or 2 away and walking in, your sanity just might thank you! read more

I used to come here pretty often, when I lived in the area, but I hated the idea of parking there. Their parking is shared with the plaza and it is jam packed all the time. If you're gonna go, go early in the day. I've seen way too many crazy people driving/attempting to park and I now choose to park on the street instead. So if you're going to park in the lot, good luck to you and your paint job. I mostly came here for quick pick ups or if I was craving a Bahn Mi Sandwich from the hot deli. The sandwiches I've tried are all great, pretty cheap, and the service is always fast and friendly. The produce is fresher than the other location in Federal Way I've noticed. I hate walking anywhere near the meats because of all the gawking dudes who work there that act like they've never seen a woman before. Mad uncomfortable, like I'm a piece of meat, ugh. Grow up. I don't come to this location anymore because I live closer to the Federal Way location now, which I much prefer going to overall anyway.
