I'm a tried and true, born and raised, New Yo-uh-k-uh. Like many Americans regarding American issues, I didn't even realize there were any other bagels that challenged the superiority of the OG NY bagel. Spoiler: there isn't. I had a bunch of Canadian friends in med school and one of them brought into my awareness the existence of a bagel that attempts to challenge NY bagels aristocracy. So we tried them. I made the critical error of placing nutrition above taste and I ordered a sesame with hummus. Tina bear ordered an everything with smoked salmon, a bagel sandwich that also includes a schmear of cream cheese, capers, and onions. The bagels are obviously smaller in size. The dough is more dense and has a slightly sweet flavor. It was enjoyable, as carb-laden bread usually is however I wasn't satisfied. Hummus was obviously a mistake. Tina says her bagel was "really good" however her testimony applies mostly to the sandwich itself, and less to the actual bagel, as those ingredients are overpowering. I'm glad Canadians have a bagel they truly enjoy but I would rather stick with what I know and love.

I've been going there for my bagels for the last 15 years. Always A-1 bagels. However in the last…read morefew months the quality has started to decline, particularly the "construction". They do not hold as a circle anymore. When you try to cut them in half, they crumble. If you were lucky enough for them not crumbling upon cutting, they will upon biting into them. Sad to see this happening.

Needless to say I was extremely impressed with the quality of the food and the service that I received. We ordered a variety of Lebanese food from Meat Kebbeh, Yogurt with Cucumber, to Hummus. Everything was fresh and my colleagues ended up eating seconds and thirds. If you are catering for a large group, I recommend ordering a variety of foods as they taste even better when paired together. My personal favourite (as funny as it may sound) was the garlic dip. Wow was it amazing - compared to some of the other Middle Eastern restaurants that I always go to this dip blew them out of the water. Everything was extremely reasonably priced and I was able to save my wallet when it was anticipating a rough Christmas and New Years season! The delivery was insanely prompt, I ended up receiving all the dishes right before the party started. Keep in mind this was during a snow storm when even pizza delivery companies were fretting about their on-time guarantee. Overall if you are looking for a good and reasonably priced caterer to offer some delicious Lebanese food for your event, definitely give Kitchen 59 a try.

They are served in aluminum pans. The ordering process is easy, but, you have to do your own homework first: How many people do you intend to serve, adults vs children vs big eaters vs those with small appetites vs diet limitations etc... and then figure out how much food in each category you need by the kilo. 1) Go through menu online 2) Email or call to place order with your food choices, pickup date and time (don't worry, the phone number is legit lol since it has a non-Montreal area code; they cater long distance events too e.g. Ottawa) 3) Pay by email transfer - don't bother with a scientific "secret" question and answer as this vendor is setup to receive direct payment bypassing security questions - you can trust them! 4) Show up at the pickup location at the date and time agreed on. (Pickup: 2001 Des Sources Blvd - Pointe Claire H9R5Z4 - Loading dock Black door # 1 Near the ramp, as at Oct 20, 2018). We ordered chicken and rice, kafta and potatoes, spinach and cheese cannelloni, meat lasagna, vegetables cous cous with no chicken - served on time, and piping hot, and securely wrapped and boxed (a great job if I may so!). The flavours were wonderful and the convenience of having food prepared for you is such a convenience when hosting an event! The representative (owner?) Antoine was such a pleasure to speak with - by phone or email, he was so patient to walk me through the process A - Z and was always readily available to answer questions. Give them a try at your next event!

So the owner bought the business from a guy that used to be quite sloppy and lacked in cleaniness. Well the current owner revamped that and is clean and listening and trying lot of stuff and is always serving people, always rolling his stock and that's a very good thing to hear about a place where freshness is everything...or Almost. There's also quality and variety. And you he hold 60 kinds of sausages / chorizos / gendarme/ peppeto. Also a pretty interesting selection of Gluten Free sausages. The owner and his wife as pretty much always working there and being successful at it. They have love for what they do. They serve some food in the Marché de l'Ouest food court like burgers and european hotdog with home made fries. Cheap deal for quick eating. I won't go into details about every sausages I've tried there, but I have to say that half would sound about right. I like their Gluten Free sauvages, especially because it's Game Meat and I LOVE GAME MEAT. Also they have some good gluten free breakfast sausages, nothing like you would normally taste. I also like their more casual sausages like Italian, or Chorizo which are natural, no additive and freaking delicious compare to the one you buy in the super market. Smoked saucages! This is delicious! the Swiss Cheese or Debriziner which is spicy smoked german saucages is amazing. Most of the time I go to Marché de l'Ouest, I'll grab at least something to eat there and have a chat with the owner about what's new, what's the good seller of the week, etc.

Heading over, I spoke to Maximo who was the staff member who answered the phone. He helped answer a few questions and upon arriving continued with excellent and respectful service. Needless to say the surprise gift given to my friends (only at dessert time) went over tastily, as the cookies were slightly warmed before serving. Only enough remained for a few in each school lunches. Now that's one way to make the other kids jealous. Can you tell, I'm quite excited about this ultra clean and modern store opening. It's located fairly centrally with respect to the West Island, but worth making a special trip for what we grew up craving as kids... so now the tradition continues. Merci & Thanks to the cookie chefs and founder of Félix & Norton. I look forward to giving much deserved kudos to him in-person after all these long years.
