If I could give 0 stars I would. I reached out to them this past weekend because I am having alignment issues with my back. I did some research and found they were super close to where I live. I saw they also had a promotion for new clients and complementary exam. The receptionist called me back to schedule a time this week. I got very excited as I am still having issues with my back. I asked for suture visits what the cost would be and she stated that it was based off of the needs of the patient. Then she proceeded to say that this first consultation would be $97. I stated that online it said complementary. She asked me to hold. I'm assuming she went to talk to the doctor. When she came back she said that they were going to take down the promo online and that it would be $97 dollars. Greedy doctors if you ask me and false advertisement! One star because you can't give a zero star. I was going to this practice and I stayed in pain. I had many medical tests performed, I was told I have fibromyalgia. I passed the information on to the Hood & Hood practice, the response was that's what they tell patients when they don't know what's wrong with them. December 2019, I decided I wasn't going to return because it was costly and I was hurting all the time. I was hurting more than when I started at Hood & Hood. January 2020 I had a small bill remaining from my plan, covid hit and everything shut down. I forgot about the bill, I never heard anything from HOOD & HOOD until today 12/23/22. I just got out of the mail box a bill from a collection agency. It's It almost 3 years later. I didn't hear anything from Hood until today. I would have paid the bill. I wouldn't recommend HOOD & HOOD unless you want a bill 3 years later. Fast forward I am a patient at Farkas & Farkas Chriopratic, I'm doing great. I am almost 50 and have never seen a chiropractor before, so I wanted to know if this is a normal experience. The doctor came to my job and gave a 1 hour presentation on posture, diet and relieving stress. He was offering a special for anyone that wanted to signup to see if, 20.00 for the consultation and follow up for results (normally a 300.00 service). So I took him up on it. The first visit was really weird, the guy that I saw (not the doctor) basically wanted to give me the exact same presentation that the doctor had given us at the job site. It seemed to be a rehearsed script that he had done hundreds of times, because no matter what I said to let him know that the doctor had already gone over this, he kept going. He did not really want to hear about my issues until he finished, and then he wanted me to set goals for them to correct (as he knew that I would even want to continue treatments after the initial visit). Even though my issues did not effect my daily lifestyle, he wanted to make up something that they could monitor to show progress. The whole vibe of the first visit felt like I just walked into a car dealership and all he wanted to do was sell me something. After that first experience I had hesitations about returning (I should have heeded those feelings), but I wanted to see the results of the xrays. This time I saw the doctor (who is very charismatic), he talks to me about setting up a 20 visit plan and then hits me with it. The 20 visit plan is going to be 1200.00. I asked why it would be that much when they supposedly take my insurance and should be a 50.00 copay. He says that is to cover things that the insurance doesn't cover, like exercise and other stuff. Is this how chiropractors normally work? I expected to walk in, get the service and make my copay, just like I do at my primary care physician. read more

Dr. Chris is an amazing chiropractor and a wonderful person. I was referred to him by my chiro in new Jersey. My pain (coz of herniated discs and pinched nerve) is very minimal now. I can manage all day to day chores, long distance drive, yoga which was not possible earlier. He educates his patience about nutrition and how eating healthy can change their life in a good way. I was brought to Dr. Hood and his wife when I was very little, then we stopped going for 6 years because of other issues I won't disclose of here. Six years later from when we left in 2011 we returned back to hood for evaluation once I got mani or scoliosis when I almost had to have surgery on my spine, Dr. Savannah Mayberry who was hoods evaluation doctor at the time was nice and knowledgeable about the office, my spine was a absolute train reck at the time thanks to an atlas minded Chiropractor. When my parents had a consultation with him a week later he did understand at the time why they would want to do surgery on me, but that did not stop him from doing what he dose best... I was in physical therapy at the time as well so he had me continue with that and also sent me and my family to his buddy Dr.Smith In Tallahassee for a scoli brace which is manufactured in Australia, Dr.Smith did the fittings and what not for the brace and that was a pretty fun experience, Dr.Smith himself was a pretty fun guy to be around along with his staff, the brace did work to an extent and has at least prevented me from needing to have surgery and proved the surgeons wrong. At the end of the visits with Dr. Smith we put in a review for him and stated that he's an absolute god send which he is. I have formed a significant bond with both Dr. Chris Hood and associate Dr. Freddy Minnya who currently works for Dr. Hood. I'm very thankful for and love the hood team. I try to send as manny people over there as much as possible even if they don't have any condition that they think they don't need a chiropractor for. read more

LIARS!! This place is a joke! They only want your money! I went here under a promotion, because my husband wanted to give it a try for his condition (an ongoing pain on his back) and after trying everything without success, he wanted to go this route. They offered a promotion, $10 for a spouse to be evaluated. They ask you to fill out a form online, and you bring it to the office when your appointment comes. Well, that form has approximately 10 pages to fill out (really??), the first 3 about your personal info, and the rest, your health history and reason why you want to get their services. First of all, I don't think they need that much of your info, since they are not a medical office, and no insurance verification is necessary. So, I filled out what i thought it was needed and had no problem. They then read your form and act upon what you wrote. In my case, I did not have any problem, I just wanted to get adjusted and see if it would make any difference on my body like they said. Well, because i had no "health issue", they had to come up with one to get me in. Since I have had a baby 7 months earlier, they started saying that the hip bones after the birth get out of place, and probably my hormones are not working properly, even though I had told them I had had my tests done a month earlier and everything was fine. That was to me the first red flag, because I knew right then, that they were talking non-sense, but I let them do the talk anyways. Then, they proceeded to take my X-Rays of the spine (that's how they assess you, which I thought it was a little too much to be taking so many X-Rays). After that, the chiropractor would take you to his office, to show you the images and assess your "damage". And here was when the circus started! He had on his computer screen a picture of a 72 year old person (woman according to him) who had a very aligned spine, and he was comparing my spine to the other image. (I'm 37) Not surprisingly, my spine was terrible compared to that one! And then he started talking about my hips, again, comparing my image with the other. Little did he know, I had taken anatomy classes, and knew the difference between a man's and a woman's hip bones! It was very clear to me that the image on his screen was a Male. He had the nerve to tell me that my hips (FEMALE) should be like the other image (a MALE)! Are you kidding me??? They have different shape and size!!!! I almost fainted! I was so embarrassed for him, and couldn't believe my ears! But truly, I was feeling sorry for all the people who he had probably lied to, to get them into his office. Because he was very charming. He even told me to bring my little baby, because usually at birth, the doctors pull their heads and leave their spines out of line. Really? A baby? You will probably start a lifetime problem for him if I take my baby to you! Needless to say I left and never looked back. So people...be smart and get informed. read more

Drs. Hood are a godsend! They care about your entire function of the body... Not just aches and pains. After being under care I have found how true that is. When I started chiropractic care I had migraines, was hypoglycemic and was told by 2 doctors I wouldn't be able to have children due to my lack of a menstrual cycle. After 2 months... No more migraines... After 6 months my blood sugar levels became stable... After 8 I had a menstrual cycle!!!!! How amazing is that?!?! Be very very careful when you come here. Make sure you know exactly what you are signing up for. I have insurance and if I knew they were not in network I would not have gone. When I first came to see Dr. Hood he told me everything they would be doing and this is how much it would cost in total. And if I was to pay all the copays all up front to save him on employee cost I would get a discount. I told him that I would have to make payments because I couldn't pay it all up front. He asked me if I had care credit and I did. After a few visits I asked why weren't they billing my insurance company and the lady I spoke with said she will talk to billing. Then after another visit I asked again and Dr. Hood said to save on cost they do a super bill. I asked them if they could bill directly because I am still paying copays for other visits. Dr. Hood said yes. At no point in time of service did anyone tell me that they were out of network. For the past few months I have been leaving voice mails asking for a super bill. Nobody had returned my calls. They got my money so they were done with me. After I called again today, I finally got told today that they don't have to send me anything because I paid with care credit card and that there is nothing more they can do and the head of billing doesn't have to do anything more and will not speak to me over the phone about this matter again. I should have asked more question, I trusted Dr. Hood who is a Christian man to explain everything to me up front especially since I kept asking about billing. I am writing this review today to make other people more aware of what they are getting into and to call their insurance to double check if the doctors they are seeing are in network. I am currently out of pocket $1,200 because I trusted the wrong doctor. read more

I recently moved here and was recommended to go here. I've had chiropractic care before and wanted to continue this practice for my family's well being. I know good chiropractic care can be challenging to find because they are a dime a dozen. Well, this one turned out to be not a good experience. First, the initial visit was very cheesy, the assistant takes you in the back room and asked you a bunch of absurd questions. Then, when I finally got to see the dr. (Over a month later) he stated they they didn't know what my co-pay was for my insurance was and to pay $45 (more then a specialist visit on my insurance card) for the visit and for my next one and that they would put it to ways my next visits when they find out about my insurance.$90 is a lot of money for two visits. That covered 2 months of chiropractic care through my insurance for my WHOLE family (4) at old location. Then, they kept bugging me to take some Tuesday night class and called me several times to come. Finally, the girl called be back and told me that I hadn't met my deductible yet. So what does that mean? How much are my visits? She still didn't tell me!! Either you take my insurance or you don't! It's that simple!! So, after a month and a half of "games" my family is NOT using this practice. They are very scamming. I know this must happen a lot because if you have a customer who is unhappy, you try and make it right! They did no such thing. This practice is not about helping you, they are all about the money, sadly. I know I have good medical coverage because a good bit was covered at my last chiropractor. Overall, all I asked for was an honest dr. They try and tell you that they are different and better then other chiropractic centers because they are different , they certainly gave me a bad taste and experience that I hope you don't have to do through. read more
