I enjoy swimming and Cascade has the best pool in the area so participation here is a matter of limited selection. My problem is the lack of policy/signs/refereeing something that keeps inconsiderate lane swimmers in line. Cascade has no posted policy or signs that direct how people should behave when there are others waiting for a lane. Since there are numerous older adults that seem to have developed blindness because they don't 'see' people waiting nor do they ask anyone. Instead, they see someone getting out of the pool and head directly to the lane that just opened up simply not caring that others are waiting. Most people seem to want to avoid conflict so nothing gets said empowering those who are already feel privileged enough to just jump in. Then there's me. I will say something and I might not be nice about it because your rudeness put you in my path. So, lane cutters if you can't turn to those waiting and ask then expect to get called out or for me to jump in 'your' lane. I simply won't stand for your rude behavior or whatever excuse you have for being like you are. As for Cascade - this on you. You have no policy, no guidance and no monitoring leaving us adults to police themselves. Fortunately, most do an exceptional job of policing themselves and have decency and courtesy. However, there are some that don't possess decency and probably have limited self-control when confronted about their behavior that could lead to an altercation between parties. If this were to happen to me you can bet that I would seeing you in court... And, while you are pondering this matter please scrub the pool! It's filthy. The walls and floor of the pool are coated in brown slime that cause slip when trying to push off. P.S. this also applies to those that are in a lane and invite someone that just shows up to join them instead of the next person in line as it should be. Friends don't get a free pass to the head of the line.

That's why I'm obsessed with this new find in the Southwest community! This neighborhood community center has cool activities like two indoor pools. One is designated for laps- 9 feet deep and the other includes a wading pool with slide, up to 4 ft and 6 inches at the deepest. I also love that there is a shower and lockers open for use so you can clean up before heading to the pool. The kids seem to absolutely love it - there are tons of other families with little ones. Open pool time is ~ 2-4pm, go early so you can get in. There's a capacity limit, our visit happened to be 75. If want to make it, BE THERE EARLY. Can not stress this enough. It is not the staff's fault if you can not get in. There are standards for a reason. You do not want to be cooped up in a space where it can not accommodate for more than what's expected. You also want to keep in mind that there are lifeguards to look out for everyone's safety and well being, so please be mindful of that as well! There are also other parts of the center to enjoy, such as an indoor basketball gym, rollerskating sessions, aqua aerobics, gym, and even dancing. It's the perfect blend of family-friendly fun and adult-approved relaxation. If you're looking for a place with a strong sense of community, stunning scenery, and a pool that's basically its own mini-vacation destination, then this is your spot! Totally recommend it! P.S. It's a family owned business since 1977 and VERY family focused with owners who genuinely care about their members. If you're a parent and care about your child's safety, I wouldn't recommend enrolling at this gym!…read moreI'm writing this review not just as a parent who pays $150 per month for my membership with childcare, but also as a school director myself ,and a mandated Oregon State child safety reporter. Before posting this review, I have tried contacting the owner several times about child safety -- with no response. Here are a couple of child safety issues I have observed: -- Instance #1: About two months ago on a week night, a one and a half year old ran out from the kids center. And due to short staffing, it wasn't noticed by staff members. Luckily, I stopped the child from running out to the gym floor. When I brought this to the director's attention, (Cindy), she said that it never happened because the cameras didn't see it happen. Scoffing and rolling her eyes. She then got back on her tablet, and ignored me. --Instance #2: The child care was short staffed. When this happens, they put the older kids with the infants/toddlers. On a few of those instances, other parents and I, have seen the older kids hurt the smaller children (violently at times). After witnessing this, I tried to find the Director and she was no where to be found. She was on "Break". -- Instance #3: Last night (4/7/26) at roughly 5:15 pm. There was one staff member to probably 20 kids. I tried to talk to the director. Once again, she rudely rolled her eyes at me. Then her and the front desk girl started laughing and mocking me. And said within earshot, "What's her f**** problem". Hopefully after posting this review the, child safety issues are addressed. And the employee culture as well. ***Review update: The owner finally contacted me, and he said all the right things. I will update the review further if changes regarding the safety issues and toxic employee culture are truly addressed. ***

He was very timid and had trust issues with past teachers which would cause him to progress/regress depending on the teacher's approach. He has thrived since coming to the lessons at Hood. After a few weeks he began swimming independently, his confidence and comfort in the water has grown immensely. Can't say enough good things! We will be enrolling our daughter as well.
