I'm working with Brandon and he is slowly building me up to my potential. Brandon worked with me to learn what is right for me and I wanted a slow but steady approach. After the first week, I was hungry for nourishing foods like beef and spinach. I was a lot less moody and more confident. Second week, I surprised myself: was my younger self and younger muscles still there? She was and fighting! Third week clothes felt better, fit better, and long bike rides were easier for me. I'm so glad I did this for myself. Most of all, I'm glad I'm working out here because I truly do feel at home and fully challenged.

I'm very happy about this. I had neglected my physical fitness for almost a decade and I was staring to see and feel it. I had never tried personal training before, but based on past experience, I knew that to make a long-term positive change in my fitness, I should seriously consider this option. When I first showed up, I discussed my goals with James, and he set me up with Brett as a personal trainer. Brett paid keen attention to my history and goals. At the time he left Portland, a year later, I was very happy with my increased fitness and confidence in my physical abilities. Brett and I also became friends. When Brett left, Tammie transitioned me over to Martin who was just starting there. At first I wasn't sure of this transition, as Martin's style differed from that of Brett's, but over the next few weeks I came to appreciate Martin's style of personal training. He too, paid keen attention to where I was coming from and what my goals were. I highly recommend him. When Brett or Martin weren't available occasionally, I trained with Tammie and Juniper. Those sessions were also great. I consider everyone at Whole Body Fitness to be very professional, knowledgeable, and thoughtful. Now, as I head out of Portland for extended travel, I'll miss training at Whole Body Fitness, but I expect that the habits and knowledge I've gained will support my fitness goals wherever I go.

As Jessa's been teaching more and there are more regular students, she's expanding into even more challenging sets that focus on inner and outer thigh work, glutes, hip flexors, and... burpees. :) My abs have never been this strong, and I can definitely tell that I don't jiggle much at all when I go running on my non-Mod Physique days. Carrying my ever-growing child had become painful in my abdomen and I overall felt like pregnancy had wiped out my strength and confidence in my body. My efforts to remedy the situation myself had proved fruitless. My initial consultation with Jessa was enlightening -- she saw and understood so many things about my body and its condition that I would never have figured out on my own. Over about six months and 8-10 sessions (mostly via Zoom), Jessa crafted and incrementally enhanced an exercise routine to build back my core strength, straighten my curved spine, and resolve my mommy pooch. After a few months, the results became obvious and encouraging. I have not historically been an "exercise person" and approaching a personal trainer felt intimidating. I started training with Tj Michael few months ago. Back during covid before I got my shot I did virtual trainings and they were awesome! Since those days I have gone in since I've gotten my vaccine. It's absolutely fantastic to work in person as well and he is as well and since he has all the gym equipment he needs it makes it much easier on me as well. Whether you do virtually or in person he does an amazing job but I do have to say I like in-person better. TJ Michael has been fantastic. He tailors all the workouts to exactly what I need. When I first started with him I had major back problems to where I couldn't even walk. Now hes helped me slowly get my back "back in shape", haha! Every week we go over our new exercise routine. It's fantastic too because it doesn't strain my back at all but it helps me strengthen all the muscles that I need it's just that I need to keep my back loose and my hips free. My wife also goes to see Tj as she wants to build muscle and keep lean. We have very different workouts which shows me he is very versatile! That brings me to his professionalism and respect. Tj likes to get measurements so he can keep track of your progress. He doesn't require it though. We both wanted to do it though and he made the whole process so easy. He was very respectful and had us help measure so we were more comfortable. He is the best! His level of professionalism and fantastic listening skills far exceeded our expectations. He also hears everything you have to say and need that you have and he'll tailor the experience to you. My husband and I started going to Allison to help us recover from an accident. I broke 22 bones…read more(the worst being my pelvis and kneecap), and he broke his thighbone (the femur, which is the longest and strongest bone in the body), so even after the bones healed, we had some serious muscle weakness to work on. After some physical therapy, I figured we'd just gradually regain normal strength over time, but my husband wanted to go to a trainer, and he was right. Allison has really helped speed up our recovery. She uses her knowledge of physiology and movement to create workouts that target areas we need to work on, and we've seen a huge difference in our strength and flexibility over the months we've been working with her. Multiple friends and acquaintances have commented that they'd never know how badly we were injured just a year ago, and I think we owe a lot of that to working with Allison. Obviously everyone's needs are different, but I'd highly recommend Allison based on my experience.
