Found a little friend while snipping Dahlias.
    Katie Q.

What a hidden gem!!!! This location is quite off the beaten path, but that is because it is literally in someone's front yard. We were coming down from Mt. Hood and it was not too far out of our way. It was a cute drive through a small town and it was really lovely to see on a Saturday drive. Once you pull into the drive way you see lots of trees and picnic tables and a big pen with a newly constructed little stand in front of a beautiful home. We parked and got out and went to the stand where an adorable young girl was selling the picked fruit and flowers. We got 4 huge heirloom tomatoes (ripe and ready to eat for dinner, they had unripe ones, but we did not want to wait) that were pre-picked and dome dahlias. The best part about the dahlias, is they hand you some scissors, and you can cut your own right off the bush. I paid for 4, but went back and bought a few more because they were so beautiful and had a variety of colors I had never seen before. We sat a bit and just relaxed in the shade of the cherry trees (my boyfriend hung out in a hammock) and I found a little friend in the form of a hen making a nest for an egg. On the way out we stopped to see the animals, you can go in and feed them and buy some corn nibs from the little stand -- this was a big hit with lots of kids that were there. Little did we know, in addition to baby goats they had lots of baby pigs and I melted! They were so adorable! This is definitely a fun place to stop by and have a picnic, especially if you have young kids -- it was so great to see them excited to play with the animals and pick their own fruit!

    Beautiful cherries!

This place gets better and better every year! They keep expanding and adding new upick crops. The people are so nice, there is lots to pick and it's absolutely beautiful! This place is a must stop!

on our trip to portland we stopped by this place after multnomas falls. the experience of handpicking fruit is a lot of fun. you get to pick your own cherries off the trees, and tasting them while doing it too. our kids had so much fun climbing the ladders and hand selecting these tasty cherries; the dark ones are the sweetest. since we were visiting old friends the next day, we picked extras to share. at $4.75 per pound, it was reasonable and worth the experience. would totally do this again.

I left plenty of tomatoes on the vine!

They have a pond with weeping willows reaching down to a glassy surface full of water lilies. Birds and butterflies are everywhere. They encourage you to bring a camping chair and enjoy the ambience while you're there. It's very different from the usual hot, dusty, open field u-pick experience in Oregon. The wide variety of berries that ripen for many months running are organic and the bushes are lush and very healthy looking. Their prices are lower than most organic u-pick farms and they provide free bags. All proceeds go to the Fistula Foundation that helps women and girls in Uganda where the owners, Linda and Will, make regular trips. Willinda also has African art for sale like baskets and figurines--so beautiful! We look forward to coming here every year, I've brought groups of friends along. It's a not to be missed experience.

This was a breakthrough for my little boy, before coming here, he would refuse to eat blueberries. Now he can't get enough. I puts more in his belly than in the bucket. We go up and down the rows grabbing the darkest berries and at the end we take them up front to the lady in charge and pay for our loot. I always pay a few dollars more than what they tell me, because the twins eat quite a bit while picking the blueberries. Maybe it would be best for them to weigh my twins before and after the picking.

This is a third generation farm - their grandparents immigrated from Japan in the early 1900s. It's almost 300 acres and they've got apples, pears, peaches, cherries, berries, and probably more. The farmstand is open July through November. They've got a pick your own/U-pick options. They specialize in growing over 150 different varieties of apples, pears, cherries, and stone fruit. Their website is pretty up-to-date on which fruit are available at any given time. I really enjoyed stopping into the marketplace for a wide selection of pre-picked fruits, some of which had samples available. They were priced by weight and I was very pleased with the cost in the end ($12 for so many apples!).

And this orchard is so fun to visit in mid-October during harvest time. They have wagon rides, a big fort for kids, an apple variety tasting, and dozens & dozens of apples and pear varieties for sale. We filled up a box of cosmic crisps to take home, plus loaded up on a bunch of jugs of honey for the year - 3 lbs for $24 is a great deal. I also walked through the orchard and loved that they labeled all the rows of trees so you can see all the many varieties. They had apple cider and apples with caramel sauce as samples while waiting in line. While I'm disappointed that the apple tasting still costs as much as last year, the experience is otherwise great and I'll be back.
