So that we would just be around the corner and popping in here would be easy during our stay. Luckily I was able to come in on two different days, and at different times! We got both the night life experience and the day time experience. I think I preferred the day time because it wasn't as busy. Night means cover charge ($4) and bag check. And no kids. You might see some kids during the day. What a cool place, with yummy drinks (no food), and all my favorite arcade games, and then some! They operate on a card system, so no coins needed when you visit. My pinball wizard friend had been traveling arcade ready with coins in her bag, but it turns out they weren't needed. Ground Kontrol supplies free lockers to store your stuff; just follow the instructions and don't forget your code. I learned a lot about pinball during my visits here, and played more pinball than I usually do because of that. I mean, why not? I played one of the newest pinball games, released within weeks of my visit, which was Pokemon themed, and I played one of the more vintage pinball machines, Xenon. And everything in between! It was awesome. $20 loaded onto a card will get you 15ish games, but there is a different cost depending on which game you're playing. I was satisfied with the value and would, and did! come back again. Highly recommend stopping in if you're in the area! Make sure to check out the whole place, as it's bigger than you think and there are more games (mostly pinball) upstairs.

There's a parking lot right across the street for easy parking. I didn't try any food or drinks from the bar this time around but the staff at the entrance were nice and friendly. Overall, this place was a bit underwhelming but if you're into drinking and pinball machines, this is the place! I just wish they had a little more variety with their games.

I have a 1965 Karmann Ghia and she's my baby, but every once in a while, things go south. A few months ago was having some coffee a few minutes from my house and when I got back to my car, it wouldn't start. Luckily the employee at the coffee shop has a motorcycle and said they "knew a guy" that was very close by thats done great work on bikes and other vintage type vehicles that belonged to people he knew. I decided what the heck and I gave him a shot! When I called him and explained the issue he said he thought he knew what the problem was and came to me (he works on Porsches) and got my car started so we could get it down to his shop. Black Moon is a sweet, privately owned business right under the St. John's bridge in a double decked, converted shipping container. (Talk about Portland!) Within half an hour he has my starter all fixed and it's worked perfectly since! Now I'm just coming back for oil changes and tune ups. I'm so glad I found them!

The owner was very cool and figured out my wiring issue within ten minutes. I needed a part from moto corsa, and it was expensive, so the mechanic managed to fix the part instead, and saved me some money. I highly recommend them!

It seems like they make this claim all the time. There are a bunch of people they're pretending not to know on Facebook who gave reviews too. What's more impressive is that they didn't even try to email me like Colleen claims in her yelp rebuttal. She just went straight to claiming I wouldn't reply to her (imaginary) attempts. This is a smoke and mirrors shop. These people are the worst! Previous Review: I took my car here for some small body work, Steve doesn't know how to weld!!! He can slop it on so it sticks together barely though. Then he grinds the heck out of it. My side panels are now paper thin and I can push them in with one finger. What kills me is that this was supposed to be a quick job and I had minimal rust. It took over two months for a 8 inch repair/patch. I don't know how these people are still in business. When I asked them about the work they refused to comment on it and said I didn't know what I was talking about. Customer service here is a joke unless you're actively paying them money. As soon as you're done paying, they're done. No warranty whatsoever or responsibility for their work. If you've had a bad experience please write a review. I was just informed that they are actively trying to censor bad reviews on other sites. From my terrible experience I can only imagine that any good reviews either aren't real or are contrived.

I've wanted to run Portland for years now but it's always so close to Seattle on the calendar and…read morefalls on Bay to Breakers so it's a decision I've never moved forward with until this year. Extremely well organized, it's RnR! I've come to expect a certain level of organization when running this series of races. If you run RnR you know what to expect right? Great Brooks tech tees, a parking fee at the expo (which we avoided, I hopped out and my boyfriend circled as I ran in quickly to grab my bib etc.), great bling! Organized corrals, plenty of water stops so on and so forth. The evening before the race I had mentally shut down and told myself I was no longer interested in running the next morning. Why? For a number of reasons, running injury, LONG day Saturday full of walking and hiking, not being totally trained for a PR which sadly is the only thing I'm chasing these days and because really even with an 815A start all I really wanted was to sleep in Sunday morning. Fast forward to Sunday morning, my boyfriend is up before me and headed to get me coffee as I'm telling him I haven't even decided if I'll do the thing. Then came to my senses and reminded myself I've wanted to experience this course for a few years now, and regardless of heading home to a Tuesday appointment with the orthopedist I can still run the course and burn off some calories I consumed the day before with a leisurely half marathon and that's just what I did. Didn't have a sip of water, or coffee, any brekke not even a shower but we did walk to the Start Line which was super close to our hotel and off I went. The run was obviously no PR for me, may have been one of my worse times yet but it was great to run over two bridges in Portland and see some of the neighborhoods. I still prefer Seattle's course to this one but it was a wonderful morning slow run, with beautiful weather and guess what was rolled out at the finish???? Yep, yep! That famous PDX carpet!!! :) I'd highly recommend this race to locals and it's definitely worth a racecation.

Highlights: Great course shows off Portland's great neighborhoods, some hills not ganna lie but the big ones are in the first half. Mile 10 is a bonus downhill. Great support from volunteers and locals. Great medal its also a beer bottle opener. The shirt is awesome. Finish line was a party with your free beer and concert stage. I really enjoy RNR marathon series. Its always well " run ".
