On the other side of the road is a forest with a network of forest trail walks. The trail is mostly flat and made of crushed stone. We parked by the main entrance at the beach and headed north on the well marked Main Trail before we peeled off to the right to walk the Loop Trail which eventually rejoined the Main Trail and took us back to our car. It was peaceful and tranquil today as the only other soul we saw was a young lady jogging along to her music. It was gorgeous out there- the trees were bare of leaves in preparation of the inevitable harsh winter and we agreed it was one of the better hikes we'd had in a while. One cool thing we saw on the Loop Trail was a humongous boulder off on the side of the trail. It appears on the trail map as (you guessed it) "Boulder".

We bought binoculars which allowed to see some beautiful birds up close. Even without them, we spotted a ton of cute birds flying about the boardwalk. You'll also encounter friendly locals of all ages walking up and down the path and also see the occasional professional photographer holding still for the perfect shot. The trail is very mellow and perfect for some active meditation. It's quite safe here as it is the first Berkshire Natural Resource Council property to not allow any hunting nor fishing, at any point during the year.

What a fun, adventurous river tubing experience for the whole family. Some parts of this river is…read moreslower, some parts faster moving, a good variety and speed. We arrived around 12:30 noon, paid, everyone got a wristband, took a tube (and life vests for the younger kids), loaded with the tubs onto the yellow school bus that took us about a 10 minutes ride to the upper part of river. By the time we got into the river to start, we can see the water rising quickly from the release of the water from the upper part of the dam. (No point to come too early as the water level was too low so you're not going fast down the river, until the water rises.) And that's where the fun & adventure starts! This place was well run, very affordable price (compared to other places nearby), the family running the place nice. There are 2 clean porta potties and lots of tables where everyone can have lunch after. Great fun to social distance and be in the water and the great outdoors. We brought strings to tie some of the tubes together for the kids. And we saw some people even bring their own paddles. Unlike some places, they aren't strict with what type of shoes you wear (if you want to at all). I was hesitant to take my family there due to some negative reviews but this place didn't disappoint. Highly recommend and we'll surely come back.

You can either strap the tubes onto your car yourself, drive up to the starting spot and tube down the river, and then they shuttle you back to your car, or they can drive you to the starting spot.
