TBH The owner's wife is very accommodating. If I could POST ZERO Stars, I would. The husband/owner is an absolute piece of crap. Let me explain. I called to reserve a spot for two nights and the wife graciously tells me there is one spot open on the river. I tell her great, without asking the price and reserve the spot on Thursday. I call back and explain I would like to drop off my rtt trailer 6X6 in my spot early in the morning 5am (without setting up) and on the other end of the phone is a booming voice the F*U*K he will and he goes off for about 2 minutes. Now mind you this is not my first time doing this, yet this guy continues to berate me over the phone, then when I ask to talk to him he says he was yelling at his wife. Ya OK. So I tell him that I was planning on driving almost three hours to fish the Deerfield with my son and ask to drop it off in the spot. YA YA whatever is his response. To be accommodating, I do not leave as I wanted to arrive at 5am as he didn't want me to disturb his other guests, yet wants to charge me for the first night even though I wouldn't be there. We arrive at 7am and wait until I see lots of campfires going and people walking around. At 7:15 I call the office line and he is angry already, saying I woke him up and that check in isn't until 12:00 noon, even though I have been charged for the previous night and had permission to be there at 5am by him and his wife. This guy lets me drive almost three hours with my son, then gives me wrong directions to my spot and drives down LOUDLY saying are you down driving all around my property. I calmly explain I used the directions they gave me and they sent me the wrong way. He then states that we won't be doing this again to which, I said what again. You are right. Then he says you can leave. TBH I was thankful, as the spot he "gave" us was sandwiched between 30+ other tents along maybe 250 foot stretch of river front, all of which were awake and up cooking and getting ready for the day. You are right on top of one another, so much so you can hear others' conversations just sitting there. I said no problem, just give me a refund and I will leave. F*u*k YOU. I will call the cops if you don't leave. Apparently he was waiting to kick me out knowing I was driving the 2.5 hrs+ to the camp site with my son, because when he said he was yelling at his wife, I said that was no way to speak to his wife, with a 1st time customer on the phone. So I drove to the office and called the number to get my refund, at which time he drove up, as I am calling out to him he looks back and slams the door and refuses to pick up the phone. Drove about 15 min toward N. Adams and expailned the situation to a couple of people asking for another campsite, both locals pointed me to two other sites, but both had similar experiences with the owner, husband - not the wife. Choice and descriptive words about him, my GOD! Locals know him I guess. Still had a great time in Western MA - went out to N Adams and fished the Hoosic - caught five brookies and 1 brown all natives. Spent the night near Sawyer Pond VT and found another FREE places to camp almost like RTT in the wilderness - State allowed. I got my money back by doing a charge back. If anyone has ever had an issue with this guy, all you need do is call your credit card company explain the situation, and if no services were received the Credit Card Company - against his will, will pull the funds and place them back on your card, even with his NO REFUND POLICY. He will then get charged a "CHARGE BACK" which costs him an additional $25-$50 per and he gets a mark against his VISA/MC account. Customer have rights and he cannot steal your money. So in the end, He lost $50 plus two night rental fees, for his effort, and we found a new campsite and fishing spot. Turned what could have been a terrible time into an adventure and made some good memories!

Verbally assaulted by owners wife after departed buildin while my 13 year old son and i were in parking lot, Owners wife seemed to be in a heated rage. As I was honest on serving portions and service, I was aggressively and verbally attacked in front of my 13 year son who had just won an outstanding ball game for the local high school. Found the management/owners wife to be rude and very disrespectful towards my child and I. Personally I plan to report this to the town of Charlemont and better business bureau, where restuarant is located. Understand this business does not respect one another as owners and Customers, in it for the dollar. God bless this couple can find happiness.

We were matched with people of similar age and ability in our boat. FYI, our family was myself, my husband and 17 yo son. If you have a chance to choose Crabapple, do so. You'll get a family run business that focuses on service, safety, and fun. Just a note, our first experience whitewater rafting was in a different state and with higher class rapids. As a newbie, it was much less fun as our guide there barked orders and yellled if we weren't "pulling our weight". So don't align the class of rapids with the fun factor... go with people who will make it fun.

It was a great experience and our guide Ethan was extremely helpful and also very friendly. He made sure we knew what we were were doing and talked with us throughout the whole experience. Afterwards they served us a great complimentary meal along with the rafting photo slideshow. It was delicious and had a lot of great choices. We came here for the Aerial Adventure Park and the Mountain Coaster and our party of 6 had a great…read moretime with both of these activities. When you drive in to the resort, the Aerial Adventure park is visible right away. When I first saw it, it seemed smaller than I expected and I thought we would be done in a flash. Let me assure you, the aerial adventure course is a LOT more complex than it looks and it was fun and challenging for all of us, from teens to older adults. There are two levels to the course - first you do the lower level and then if you want to try the more challenging higher level you move on to that. Both levels are included in your ticket. Each section of the course is unique: some have zip lines, there are some climbing sections to get from one point to another, some have balance activities, and some rely on strength and ingenuity. Everyone wears a harness, so you are always safe (I did end up dangling a few times and was grateful for the harness!). Staff here is awesome and they train you before you go up into the course. The Mountain Coaster is also fun, although when we went around noon on a summer Friday, we had to wait in line for about 45 minutes to get on. I am a scaredy cat when it comes to roller coasters, but I LOVED the Mountain Coaster, where I go to zip down a mountain surrounded by trees and nature, and I could control the speed. I would love to do this again, but would plan to go earlier in the morning to hopefully avoid the crowds.

So what exactly is Satan's Kingdom?  Well, it's  a one acre state operated public recreation area on the Farmington River used for hiking, canoeing, kayaking, and tubing down the river's three sets of rapids courtesy of Farmington River Tubing. Where did that devilish name come from? I read that construction of a nearby railroad in the 1870's proved so difficult the railroad workers named it "Satan's Kingdom" In 2012 the recreation area gained Connecticut State Park status. We walked along the deserted grounds (tubing is closed for the season) and saw some very nice scenery and river views, Not one devil in sight.

What's more is, I was "that lady" who brought a waterproof phone protector with a neck strap to take pictures with my family and friends. I was also "that lady" who took the neck strap off to avoid tan lines...needless to say, my phone went into the Hudson River without me realizing it! Ethan and his crew were so kind during my personal meltdown, mostly due to me kicking myself for being so careless. They had a group of 80 after us, but assured me they would all look out for it as they had an idea where I dropped it. We called every half hour in the hopes one of the other crews may have discovered the phone, and at 4:50, my husband's phone rang with the amazing news that the phone was found safely! All 3 of our guides looked and I cannot express how grateful I am to them all!! Personal tragedy aside, our entire group said the lazy river was the best part of our trip, and we have already recommended AAC to friends who are traveling to Lake George in the coming weeks! If you're looking for a fun and relaxing way to spend a morning or afternoon, this is a definite must to check for your list!

We did the early bird special at 9:30 am to save money and it's also worth it! Such a great offer!!! I highly recommend getting the tube with a backrest/headrest so that you have back support during your tubing experience. It makes a huge difference with comfort and it only cost an extra $7. Erin was a very good bus driver she made the ride pleasant and safe!!! Lauren was a great instructor and leader during the experience. She also was very friendly to speak with. I needed water shoes, so it was great that I can buy water shoes on the premises and they were able to charge the card I used to make the online reservations which is convenient because I didn't bring my wallet. There is bathrooms and changing rooms on site.
