I had an absolutely awful experience with Hooked Up Towing. If I could give zero stars, I would. My apartment complex unfortunately has a contract with these shady people. They notified residents that cars needed to be moved by 8am for snow removal. As a single mom with a 7 month-old, getting out the door on time is not easy, but I made it out right at 8am only to find my car already hooked up and being towed. They took my vehicle BEFORE the stated deadline. Even if it was 7:59am, I was there and ready to move it. There was absolutely no reason to tow. If they're going to be sticklers for the time, my car should have been left until 8:01am when that would have been considered late. Not a minute sooner. It gets worse. The driver was incredibly rude and aggressive. He refused to let my car go unless I paid him $100 in cash only. I wouldn't be surprised if he pocketed the money for himself. He yelled at me, called me lazy, and acted like I was somehow in the wrong for following the timing I was given. Completely unacceptable behavior. Looking at other reviews about this business, it seems like this kind of behavior is normal. This company operates with zero regard for fairness, timing, or basic human decency. They are predatory, unethical, and disrespectful. If your property contracts with them, be aware. They do not care about residents, circumstances, or even the rules they're supposed to follow. If I owned an apartment complex, I wouldn't want to be in business with these people who represent me and my reputation because they'd make me look absolutely terrible. read more

This companies lazy drives left me stranded because it was close to closing time, when i called to ask what happened i got yelled at for not answering my phone. Also looking at the phone records the driver that called let it ring less than once and left no message. read more

Outrageous costs to reclaim an impounded car. No fee schedule posted, cash ONLY, no ATM on site. I was quoted $390 to reclaim my car and $480 when I came to pick it up, apparently its $45/day after that... I hope you dont live 1 hour and 45 mins away like I do! This company stole my car from my home. Police had no records of it and did not tag it to be towed. Employee brought it back said we were crazy for reporting it stolen. He said we were lucky he brought it back. As opposed to what? Dumping it somewhere random? The Police said it was stolen and gave me a case number. I called 911 when the driver returned with my car and he refused to stay to talk to the police officer, just dropped off my car and yelled at us and left. Police are investigating. read more

I wish I could give them negative stars, these people are criminals! They 100% illegally towed my friends vehicle from a lot with no signs, which had 6 other vehicles parked right next to it which they didn't touch... the parking lot was a church parking lot where guests regularly park when visiting my apartment building. There was simply no reason whatsoever to tow his vehicle and they didnt even notify the police (Illegal as hell) so we thought the vehicle had been stolen for over a week until my friend found out they had his truck through the MAIL!!!! I was charged $390 for towing from my sister's apartment's empty parking lot. I had driven across the country to be at my mom's lung cancer apartment and there were no visitor spaces available. The towing company got my car before 8:30 am and is charging me $390 to get my car back. This is predatory and obscene. read more

Uses a contract with a private residential housing company on private roads as an excuse for predatory towing. Sure they gonna say they just doing their job however a contract to do predatory towing doesn't justify doing predatory towing on private property. Additionally, their charges and fees are well above average. About %20-%25 higher than average. I tried to get a reduction, but they wouldn't give me a time the owner would be in, and they said the price is what it is. However it's not, as someone with inside knowledge of the towing industry, these prices are set by the owner and they can make up the price to be anything, and charge for anything they can Profesionaly name it to be. don't recommend predatory companies. read more

Pretty sure they were called to tow my car and when I came out the guy didn't even stop to allow me to pay then charged me 375 the next day for me to find out things were stolen out my car and my girlfriends purse. Needed a tow to a shop, the woman on the phone was delightful, gave me updates, and the guy who came to tow my truck was very professional and you could tell he cared about what he was doing! A+ even sent a picture of it when he was finished. read more

These guys were recommended by my mechanic to tow my car in and I can't say enough good about them. Nicest people to work with, they were out within the hour, kept me updated on everything, took good care of my car, reasonable pricing, even texted picture of my car safely at the shop. Took my car from my apartment parking lot despite having all parking pass requirements. Had to Uber to work and was late. Ended up having to pay 100$ to have my car ransomed back to me. Not to mention the fact I was left 0 notice and my car was not reported to the police as a impounded vehicle so I was extremely close to just registering my car as a stolen vehicle. Obviously a scam market here I'm sure they've done this before. Imagine someone steals your car and sells it back to you for 100$ and somehow it's legal... police have offered no help and I wish to see this stain gone from the community. read more

Last night i parked as directed by signs posted around the building at mindnight, my vehicle was towed from the visitor parking lot which is labeled as the visitor parking by 10 am. I followed all rules posted that applied to my statues as a vistor, seemed plain enough not to need to be questioned. They expect 300 dollars to get my vehicle back. read more

Very shady business. Say they only accept cash but then tries everything in their power to come up with excuses to not take it. They are doing a storage fee scam, one of the oldest scams in the tow book. They then keep your door open so your battery dies then block your car in, and refuse to move it or jump it. The owner/manger then try saying if my car wasn't off the property by 5 he'd impound it again and if I parked in any building or street next to the building he'll impound it. After calling the police and the police telling him to quit interjecting himself he finally left me alone. They think cause they're a private business they make up the rules but they learned today that's not true. Hopefully the front desk lady learns how to count and y'all put those $1s to good use. read more
