This is NOT a bao. Not even close. It's a chicken slider.

Ordered a tequila old fashioned and got one finger of drink, even with the non-cocktail ice cube (looked like something from a motel ice maker). Ordered the chicken baos. Does the owner/cook even know what a bao is? I sincerely doubt it, as what we got was a chicken slider. Pickled ginger does not a bao make. My wife and stepson liked their mules. The queso and cigars were pretty good. I asked for another tequila drink, a Oaxacan or mescal mule. Bartender didn't know how to just swap the whisky for mescal. Waitress was nice but just as clueless. Screwed up the bill, too. Charged us extra for one of the drinks but didn't charge for one. Had to convince her it was okay to just call it even.

The only reason we came here was to try the "lil bao wows" pork boa buns which is the only substantial item on the menu. We were told "the buns were still frozen" and it would be about a 20 minute wait for them. 40 minutes later we asked for an update and the waitress said "the kitchen couldn't give her an updated time" so we just canceled the order and asked for the check. While we were waiting for those we ordered three other items and each got a drink. Everything was good but the portions were so small for the price we left needing to get dinner somewhere else. There was a happy hour going on while we were there but the waitress didn't tell us about it and there was nothing there advertising it; we found it on their website later which was very disappointing as we would have bought more drinks had we known. The drinks we got were good and reasonably priced, though not very strong (both were $9).

The drinks were epic and the bartenders made our stop even better. Great way to end a weekend in town for a wedding. Definitely will be back!

Service was amazing and our food and drinks were delicious! Wish we had tried this place sooner because it seems like a great go-to date night spot. We will definitely be back!

I am very happy that I found Saint Blaise as they hit all three of my marks for restaurants that I take customers to. Food: The food was great. I wanted to get the steak and potatoes but it was $50+ which I thought was a bit steep for just steak and potatoes. I opted for the blackened salmon which was cooked perfectly with delicious broccoli and mashed potatoes on the side that were also cooked perfectly. The gnocchi had a perfect consistency with a non-overwhelming sauce so also phenomenally done. The two drinks I got: Same Place and Maple Manhattan were well-made with each component complementing each other well and not overpowering one another. If you like tequila and manhattans I think you will be happy. Service: The servers were very attentive and made sure we were taken care of the entire visit especially with the waters. Huge kudos! Ambiance: I will say because the inside space is a bit tight and small, having conversation when the restaurant was busy proved a bit difficult but if that is the case they do have seating right outside in the lobby area and having conversations there should not be an issue. I will make sure to be back with customers here!

It has a nice easy-going, small-town Texas feel to it which is hard to describe unless you've lived in a town like this like I have. The inside is typically nice and chill; an ideal environment to grab a cocktail or two and conversate with a date, coworker, group of friends, whatever. Out of all the bars I have been to in Midland, I think Buffalo Nickel has the best selection of whiskey especially. I am not a huge whiskey aficionado but I have heard from ones that this is the place to go. I am more of a tequila and beer guy and they have everything I want. The unique thing about this bar is that the back patio is smoke-friendly. I am guilty of wanting some nicotine after some drinks so this is a great place for me. They also sell cigars if that is your thing. Cheers!

They have a nice selection to grab a couple to smoke on the back patio or to take with you for later. Hubby really enjoy the Crazy Alice, said it was one of the best cigars he's ever had! We sat at the bar and our bartender was very sweet and attentive. Explained the cocktails a bit for us and gave suggestions. The Pumpkin Spiced White Russian caught my eye online so I went with that and hubby had an Old Fashioned. Drinks were spot on so when the bartender said they had a great Espresso Martini I said but of course! It was absolutely delicious!! We highly recommend Buffalo Nickel for a small gathering or date night cocktails.

This part of Texas has no business having sushi that good either. Used to always get the wagyu ribeye, then th Akaushi, then I tried the lamb chops and got stuck on those. They've got a desert that I can never remember the name of that looks kind of like a cheesecake. It's phenomenal. Wait staff is always terrific. Easy to spend over $1,000 here, but also not hard to leave for less than $100/person and have everyone waddling out with a loose button. Fantastic restaurant.

I visited here one night since it was relatively close to my hotel. I didn't initially realize it…read morewas a restaurant owned by Graham Ellliot, who is coincidentally 1 day younger than me. The menu consists of raw plates, apps, salads, sandwiches, land and sea plates, and steaks. Half of the front of their menu is devoted to sushi rolls, containing elevated items like lobster and waygu steak. On the rear of the menu, their side dishes didn't really impress me as there are many starches and only 2 green veggies. This restaurant is still very classy in several ways, or at least they make a valiant attempt. One example, when ordering sushi rolls, they bring out a nice metal chopstick holder. However, the chopsticks themselves are just the cheap wooden ones in a paper packaging. I decided to sit at the bar since the dining area looked busy; however, the bar area was also just as busy. On the bar side of the restaurant, there are actually many more tables toward the back which were mostly vacant during the majority of my visit. I decided to order the steak frites which they say is a Denver cut. Denver steaks are from the well-used shoulder area and typically have great marbling and a deep beef flavor. The dish comes with their truffle fries and bearnaise sauce. It's a simple dish and not their priciest cut, but it's the most affordable way to get one of their steaks without being presented on a sandwich or priced in the 68-275 range as their other steaks. Steak frites - the steak was tender and very tasty. It actually was much better without the room temp bearnaise sauce. Not sure why they have that on the plate since it ruins a steak imo. The steak itself was also luke warm and not hot from the broiler. The fresh cut shoestring fries were warm but not quite as hot as I was expecting. Luckily, the garlic aioli helped. This restaurant is a great place for many occasions but can also be a good place for someone dining solo looking for upscale food.

It also wasn't very busy, which made the wait even more confusing. I completely understand that delays can happen, and our waitress was incredibly kind throughout the whole experience. She wasn't the issue at all, and I truly felt bad because she was doing her best. After waiting over an hour, I went to find the manager and politely asked if it would be okay to just cancel our order. Instead of apologizing for the wait, he responded, "Okay... I don't know where you're sitting, so I don't know what you're even talking about." After I told him where we were sitting, he simply said, "Okay, it's taken care of," and waved us off. There was no apology or acknowledgment that we had just waited over an hour without ever getting our food. I understand that mistakes happen, but customer service is what makes the difference. A simple apology or even just showing a little empathy would have completely changed how we left feeling. Instead, we walked out feeling like we were an inconvenience. I hate leaving negative reviews, but I hope this is something management takes seriously because the waitress deserved much better than the way the situation was handled.

I will say that I was pretty impressed with the food and especially the service but there were still some things that kept me from giving it a perfect score. First off, the service was impeccable. When I walked in, I was greeted right away and sat promptly. My customers that I was taking out arrived a bit later because I was early but I was still provided with water and not bothered. An additional customer came so we had to move tables and it was done promptly and professionally. We were helped without it being overwhelming. Great job! The food was good and well-prepared. I ordered the roasted salmon and it was cooked very well with a crispy skin, the asparagus and brussel sprouts were salted well and cooked just right, the only complaint on the taste is that I wish there was a bit more jalapeño sauce and that it was spicier. It had no kick to it at all. My main overall reason for taking a star off is that the prices are definitely too high compared to the offering. Was the salmon dish good? Yes. But was it $39 without tax and tip good? Not really. Overall, I recommend this place to impress a date or to take a customer where conversation can be had easily with a nice atmosphere.
