He told me that the gun had been used for a demo and the individual wanted different sights. They did not offer to replace the original sights that were removed nor the items missing. And I did ask.

They said, oh yes, it shouldn't be a problem... My 25 was there for 2 months, and I got no phone call or txt as to issues, ordering parts, if it was fixed, or if they couldn't fix it. During the 2 mos, I went to the gun store 5x asking if it was done, and every time was told, the gunsmith was sick on not there and he was really backed up. So much for an update. Went there on 1/24 and worker there brought it out all taken apart on a small tray. He said the so-called gunsmith had tried to order a part, but couldn't get it. Also said that the gunsmth would be in next day and he'd have him just put it back together so I could pick it up, said there shouldn't be a charge, as he didn't fix it. Went back the next day to get it. Guy came to counter to help me. Told him I was there to pick up the 25, that it had been there for 2 mos, and I was told it needed a part that they couldn't get. Also told him I had gotten no calls either way, that I had been there 5x, and every time I was told, the gunsmith was either not there or sick, and that he was really backed up on his work.. He said, well I'm the gunsmith, I remember that gun. Brought it out on a small tray all in pieces and proceeded to tell me that he couldn't locate a part for it. Asked him what part was bad, he had no idea.. Looking at all the pieces, I noticed a piece was missing that holds the barrel/springs in the gun. Asked him where that piece was, said he didn't know. Then he said that that was the part that he had to order cause it was cracked.. Told him that it was a solid piece of steel and that it wasn't cracked when I took it apart, and where is it? Still had no answer of where the part was. Granted, it started to piss me off that someone so incompetent would even have a job there, let alone, working on GUNS.. Things that could seriously hurt someone if not assembled correctly, and if he can't fix a tiny 25 cal pistol, God help anyone who needs work done on their gun. Told him that the guy, the day before told me that it would be put back together and there shouldn't be a charge, as it didn't get fixed. Then he told me, Well, I don't know who you talked to, but it's $39 to pick it up. Pissed me off.. Asked him, why would I pay for work that hadn't been done, as the gun was in pieces, Plus 1 of the pieces was missing. Then he takes the tray with the gun parts behind the curtain, into the back of store. He comes back out and says, I'm not going to talk to you if you're going to raise your voice and use that tone with me... This, after not keeping me up to date on ANY progress, then losing one of the parts, and having no idea where it is, and wanting me to pay for His incompetence.... If anything, I should be reimbursed for the missing part.. Told him just put it in a bag, I'd pay it, and wouldn't be back. He put the pieces in baggies and then had the balls to say, I'll call you if that part comes in... WHATEVER... If you have half a brain, DO Not Shop Here... Save yourself the misery of dealing with this Incompetent Fool/Business. Not worth your time... And if you read other "negative" Reviews you'll find that some idiot from there ALWAYS tries to turn the story around and say something about "Customer raised his voice, or was cussing at me", blah, blah, blah, and they were in the wrong...LIES, Period.. And I just bet it's the so-called "gunsmith" that types in HIS version of what happened. He evidently thinks it is Just "Business as Usual" to Rip people off, and expect them to just smile and take it. It's no wonder people get pissed off and raise their voice... DUH.. All he did was grind off & ruin a new Wilson Beavertail grip safety. Additionally, he said the slide stop was broken & returned the broken pieces when I picked it up....damn sure wasn't broken when I assembled it before taking it to him. If you're in the market for an AR, he might be the one to see, but obviously knows little to nothing about 1911s. 1 star is too good based on my experience.

If you're looking for a range in Alabama, I'd recommend going somewhere else. They still require a…read moreCCW permit to join, even though Alabama went full constitutional carry back in 2023. The state law clearly says no permit is needed to carry concealed anymore, but this place is sticking to the old requirement just to be extra gate keepey about 2A. It's their private property, so they can set their own rules I understand that. But the part that really stands out is how they deny ACTIVE DUTY SERVICE members if they don't have a CCW. Let get real these are the men and women who put their lives on the line every day to protect and defend the Constitution, including the Second Amendment. And yet they're being told they need a government issued permission slip just to shoot at this range BWAHAHAHA. That feels completely backwards and disrespectful to those who serve. Most folks aren't going to go through the extra steps classes, fees, paperwork, fingerprints, photos, and waiting periods when the state already says you're good to go without any of it. If you want a background check just run every member though any of the 1000 background check sites. It ends up just being straight gatekeeping, limiting access to only those who already got the government's approval. CCW permits have ALWAYS been unconstitutional because the Second Amendment protects the right to bear arms without needing government permission slips it's a fundamental right, not a privilege granted by the state. Big miss for this range It's disappointing to see a place that's supposed to be pro-gun still doing this in 2026 Alabama, especially when it affects active duty members who just want to go enjoy their rights. If you're looking for a no-hassle spot with better vibes, try the Talladega range, Sentinals, or Hoover Tactical if you need a rifle range and if you are lucky just shoot at a friend's place if you know anyone with land no CCW anti 2a Drama. This one gets a 0/10 from me. Save your time and go elsewhere.

Safety is their first and most important requirement, and if you intend to shoot there you're required to take the safety course. You may think you don't need it but a refresher is always in order. An attitude such as I've noted in a couple of posts here doesn't recommend you no matter how experienced you may think you are. All the years I've been a member at FOP Pleasant Grove I've never had a bad experience with any of the staff. My grandson learned to shoot there because I trusted the quality and safety of his instructors, The only times that left a sour note -- and they've been very, very few through the years -- it's been because some member or visitor thought the rules were for someone else. I politely declined the outrageous price for the mag well and I was just going to do the slide. I called after weeks of waiting still hadn't touched it yet because his painter had been sick. No problem so I asked how much to do the mag well again since I had just got my paycheck and we come to an agreement of 25$. Supposedly wrote it down and put it with the gun. Well I go pick it up a week later let's just say slide was the only thing painted after waiting over an entire month while they had my edc! 0/10 paint was good quality, terrible service
