This should really have Neg stars for rating. I took a 25 cal pistol that had jammed when reloading a shell, asked at counter if they could service it. They said, oh yes, it shouldn't be a problem... My 25 was there for 2 months, and I got no phone call or txt as to issues, ordering parts, if it was fixed, or if they couldn't fix it. During the 2 mos, I went to the gun store 5x asking if it was done, and every time was told, the gunsmith was sick on not there and he was really backed up. So much for an update. Went there on 1/24 and worker there brought it out all taken apart on a small tray. He said the so-called gunsmith had tried to order a part, but couldn't get it. Also said that the gunsmth would be in next day and he'd have him just put it back together so I could pick it up, said there shouldn't be a charge, as he didn't fix it. Went back the next day to get it. Guy came to counter to help me. Told him I was there to pick up the 25, that it had been there for 2 mos, and I was told it needed a part that they couldn't get. Also told him I had gotten no calls either way, that I had been there 5x, and every time I was told, the gunsmith was either not there or sick, and that he was really backed up on his work.. He said, well I'm the gunsmith, I remember that gun. Brought it out on a small tray all in pieces and proceeded to tell me that he couldn't locate a part for it. Asked him what part was bad, he had no idea.. Looking at all the pieces, I noticed a piece was missing that holds the barrel/springs in the gun. Asked him where that piece was, said he didn't know. Then he said that that was the part that he had to order cause it was cracked.. Told him that it was a solid piece of steel and that it wasn't cracked when I took it apart, and where is it? Still had no answer of where the part was. Granted, it started to piss me off that someone so incompetent would even have a job there, let alone, working on GUNS.. Things that could seriously hurt someone if not assembled correctly, and if he can't fix a tiny 25 cal pistol, God help anyone who needs work done on their gun. Told him that the guy, the day before told me that it would be put back together and there shouldn't be a charge, as it didn't get fixed. Then he told me, Well, I don't know who you talked to, but it's $39 to pick it up. Pissed me off.. Asked him, why would I pay for work that hadn't been done, as the gun was in pieces, Plus 1 of the pieces was missing. Then he takes the tray with the gun parts behind the curtain, into the back of store. He comes back out and says, I'm not going to talk to you if you're going to raise your voice and use that tone with me... This, after not keeping me up to date on ANY progress, then losing one of the parts, and having no idea where it is, and wanting me to pay for His incompetence.... If anything, I should be reimbursed for the missing part.. Told him just put it in a bag, I'd pay it, and wouldn't be back. He put the pieces in baggies and then had the balls to say, I'll call you if that part comes in... WHATEVER... If you have half a brain, DO Not Shop Here... Save yourself the misery of dealing with this Incompetent Fool/Business. Not worth your time... And if you read other "negative" Reviews you'll find that some idiot from there ALWAYS tries to turn the story around and say something about "Customer raised his voice, or was cussing at me", blah, blah, blah, and they were in the wrong...LIES, Period.. And I just bet it's the so-called "gunsmith" that types in HIS version of what happened. He evidently thinks it is Just "Business as Usual" to Rip people off, and expect them to just smile and take it. It's no wonder people get pissed off and raise their voice... DUH.. Had a couple bad experiences here a few years ago now when getting cerakote and stippling done, both of which looked pretty bad but that's not the reason for the one star. I did complain about the cerakote due to them making a mistake while attempting to color match some gun parts that the manager said was was patriot brown. So he cerakoted the parts patriot brown and when they came out a completely different color than the original parts the manager said he did what he was supposed to do and it wasn't his fault. He then said that he would "take care of it" and they "fixed" it having to cerakote all of the parts a color I didn't want, and then charged me again before I could pick up the parts after saying he would take care of it. I haven't been back since as there are plenty of better gun shops around here that aren't over priced and you're better off sending your gun off to a reputable stippling service and cerakoter. read more

New store just opened, prices are average. Very friendly staff and pretty knowledgable. Was in looking for the wife a conceal carry gun that she felt comfortable with. The sales staff was very helpful in finding the right gun for her. We got lucky and they had just traded for a Sig Sauer P938 that morning, the gun was super clean so we got it 100 less than brand new cost. For over all this place is a solid 4 stars, and they do custom paint jobs on any fire arm. So if you are in the area, stop by and see what you think. read more

Small gun store located near the corner of John Hawkins and Shades Crest. Well laid out store with a good selection of gun accessories. Not a huge variety but a little bit of everything. Holsters, cleaning kits, tactical bags, ammo, and of course guns. Approximately 75 hand guns to choose between and 10 - 12 AR's plus about 10 - 12 shotguns on another wall. Handgun prices seem pretty reasonable and below MSRP. Staff is friendly (they had a few new guys that needed to keep going in back to ask for help) and knowledgeable about the weapons. Needed help primarily with procedures for the handgun sales. I will definitely return and check these guys out when I am looking for something gun related. This place is a joke. It's over priced and they are rude and they do terrible work. Had an RMR cut done on a slide on a CZ and they butchered it. Literally left the battery under the sight exposed which made it no longer waterproof. Had to throw the slide away. I wouldn't have them touch any more of my guns IF THEY PAID ME!!! Although they have now been certified as an official Cerakote applicator, my teenager could do better work blindfolded with a can of spray paint. They have also been reported to the Hoover Revenue Department for collecting tax on services (gunsmithing, coating, etc.) even after they were told it was illegal to do so. If you have gotten gunsmith work or coating done, check your receipt; guaranteed they charged you sales tax. The Birmingham gun community would be much better off if they closed their doors! read more

The franchisee, whose name is probably Prickface McDickhead, is rude, condescending and sells used weapons as new weapons without disclosing that they are used and may carry a history with them. I took the used pistol back and requested a new one of the same type. After complaining about having to pay for another background search, and refusing a refund, quibbling about my use of the terms "titled" and "registered" when I expressed concern about the possible history of the weapon, I decided to keep the used weapon and determined to deal with these issues another way, writing these reviews and buying my three other guns elsewhere. I wouldn't shop here again on a dare. read more

People at counter were nice, would have been 1 star without them. The "gunsmith" was kind of arrogant. Really acted like he knew everything even though he really didn't understand my platform and I tried to tell him it was not a normal .308. Some how tore up threads on a buffer tube he was removing. After I reminded them multiple times that mine was different they tried to sell me on something that apparently was not designed for my .308, which if he even function tested after install he would have know. First time I pulled charging handle it wouldn't even fully cycle or LRBHO like normal. Google could have told them the part was wrong but they ignored my warnings. Thank God I never fired it because the BCG would have hammered the buffer. If I ever go back it will because I have no other choices and not to let them work on my gun. Will say they have some cool looking custom guns but I would be extremely nervous relying on one for self defense after my experience, though 5.56 guns are a little easier to build than .308 variants and should be well within even that "gunsmiths" skills. In all fairness been about year since it happened the "smith" was dark headed and I really haven't been back since. If you know what your doing some of the custom stuff might be useful but don't take on real gun work for granted. read more

My wife spotted this place awhile back. Buddy at work and I talked about them and he's a customer. Went by today and talked to Stef about upgrading a stock trigger. He showed me several guns they have that shows their custom work. Came back later and talked to two other gentlemen that were there.
