I had my latest 3 month check up in January 2022 to continue my prep (Descovy). Prep is HIV preventative medicine that you can take daily so you don't contract the HIV virus. The second I walked into Hope and Help center in winter park florida, it was a great experience from start to finish! The place was immaculately cleaned and smelt clean. The receptionist was very organized and had all my paperwork ready and acknowledged me right away before my appointment time. The nurses that saw me were above my expectations. Knowledge, friendly, and professional. They have a great blood drawer. The main female nurse practitioner is so educated and knowledgeable and really knows her field! I love the hope and help center! I actually was a social worker in the HIV field some time ago. I wanted to find out what is available in this area and found the Hope and help center. There are actually several locations in the area. The organization offers free, confidential HIV testing. You simply go to a location and ask for the test. A counselor will then discuss the process. You can get an oral swab test and get the results in about 30 minutes. Although it's not something people may want to think about, it really is something that needs to be done. It's scary, but needed. Additional services, like food bank, support group, medical and social services outreach is also available. Helping people get medications if they are not able to afford it or do not have insurance is something the center can help with also. There are volunteer opportunities as well if you would like to reach out and give back to this community. Take a look at their website for more information. This is the most unprofessional place. The unprofessional girl at Front desk calls you in front of others. Breaks HIPA laws and discusses health issues in front of people in waiting room asks your social and discussses why someone else is there and their testing. Poorly managed place . It's sad cause it could be very good. Lots of good employees there who want to make a difference. read more

The Hope and Help Center of Central Florida held its 20th Annual Headdress Ball last night at the new Hilton Hotel in International Drive. If you weren't there you missed the event of the year. Over 900 guests enjoyed a delicious meal and were entertained by some extraordinary talent. Once again the event was hosted by the incrdible Darcel Stevens. In addition to the local dancers from the Orlando Ballet Company, Dancers from the major Orlando attractions, performances by Daniele Hunter, Tasha Long, all of whom volunteered their time and talent to this event. Celebrity guest entertainment included: Christine W. singing a medley of her hits, to Ongina; star of Ru Paul's Drag Races to the amazing talent of Jennifer Holiday, one of the original Dreamgirls. Headdress is not for the stuffy, the 30 scantly dressed Harriet Lake dancers came on stage several times during the night to dance for tips. Al of this money was added to the final count. For those of you that could not be in attendance as a guest or volunteer I recommend you keep your eyes open for next years Headdress Ball 21. This is the charity event of the year in Orlando, and don't let anyone try to tell you differently. See you next year. read more

I have been here for help cause I had no wheres to go. I was set up with Gilbert (case manager). This place can only help you if you are poor. If you are lower middle class like myself. They will misguide you and you will end up paying out of pocket for services that are free else where. They have no knowledgeable experience when it comes to a case where the person is not poor. Very disappointing to feel like they do not care about my health needs. I would never recommend any one to go there. If you need help go to Bliss Health Care. read more
