Since my boyfriend's son began attending here, I've noticed there have been A/C problems, shortages of bus drivers (meaning there have been doubled routes), and other slight inconsistencies that concern most parents... myself included. However, all of these concerns were addressed at the parent/principal meetings I have attended. Seems the parents who have children that attended there the previous years have been extremely dissatisfied with the previous principal and the lack of interest for any of the parents' concerns about the children fighting, electric problems and whatnot. Now that there is a new principal and she seems genuinely concerned with all these things, it seems the parents are a lot more satisfied with the way the school is now being run. There is still a bus driver shortage and the parking lot gravel is still horrible, but at the moment those issues are out of her control.

That seemed to be lacking previously. This is a Title 1 school which essentialy means it is understaffed & under-funded. There is a revolving door of 1st year teachers & many Deltas, as the principal is a member of that sorority. Also a high special needs & interrelated population here. Many poor-performing academic students here, but not a bad school to work at. If you have a bright child who needs a challenge, I would not send them here as they would be surrounded by lower-achieving students. This is our fifth year attending St. Paul, and the very reason I didn't pack up & move after my husbands death. They supported our entire family - emotionally, spiritually, and educationally. I cannot fathom my children attending a different school. I have been blessed to spend extra time there - as both a volunteer (to pay it forward) and substitute teacher, and my mind has not changed. The counselors shouldn't counsel a trash can, definitely not a child. Mrs Lauchlan is pretty good at accomplishing nothing. Mr Lawrence isn't certified and he has the maturity level of a 6th grader. Bottom line: Look at the test scores compared to other private schools. The kids complain about the lunch. The co-curricular and athletic options are good. Your kid will be bullied. Your kids will receive a public school education with perks. Don't waste your money.
