Hope is a joy compared to her last school - no cliques, very friendly and caring staff that are easily accessible. When I went to this school as a black girl teachers had assumed that I had parental problems and that my life was going the wrong because apparently I didn't have a father. Me and my siblings were constantly verbally attacked with stereotypes and slurs. I would be walking around and someone would yell at giving me dirty looks and asking me if I was going to play basketball or run track. It was time for us to watch a presentation so the teacher had asked me to turn off the lights and once I did the white boys had yelled "where did ******** go?!" saying I had disappeared from the room. Whenever I would wear an all black outfit the boys would ask me why i'm not wearing any clothes. Then when I was in class learning about history, more specifically slavery, I would always get looks or be asked if I know anything about the slavery or the teacher would apologize for her ancestors treating my ancestors like that. If there was a word that they didn't know how to pronounce, the teacher would ask me how to say it assuming that was my "language". Any other black person who was there the students would ask if we are either related or dating. Lastly, for sports I was on varsity for every sport I did especially track the coach himself had said that he knew I had more energy in me since my ancestors had run a long way so I should be used to it. When I asked for a water break the coach said that he thought i was used to not drinking water frequently, that is a quote. I wouldn't recommend going if you are black.

I started noticing marks on him. I started to question him. He told me that his teacher Cynthia slapped him in the face and punched him and he told me that his teacher touched his private part and he showed me exactly what she did. Cynthia has had previous allegations. I heard the director talking to another teacher saying that this was not the first time Cynthia had done this, but most parents were too scared to report her. I filed a police report and I am pursuing pressing charges. I would never trust this location to watch your children. Cynthia has something against the director Dianna and that's why she's not being fired. I told Dianna that I had issues with Cynthia and she did not seem surprised at all. She was dismissive about what had happened with my son even tho he had the same story and had the parks to prove it. The teachers are constantly on their phone. Cynthia tries to bully you as a parent and she didn't like it when she could not bully me so she started giving me dirty looks, however I will say the kinder care in eagle ranch is amazing the director runs it very different and they are amazing and do amazing with the kids.

They have a cooking class for the Kids every Wednesday when you pay a fee for the supplies. This has really helped build my 8 year old Grandsons self esteem. He made Pizza for the family we brought it home a cooked it. They made sushi Rolls, crepes and meatballs. He was so excited that he made food for the family and loves the cooking class. Unexplained or 2). Blamed on the child. We pulled our child after a few weeks because none of it added up. Also- The space is flourescently lit, colorless and lacking in plant life or natural light. Confirmed with the director there are no Spanish classes or lessons currently, which would indicate a need for an update to the website. When I asked what language exposure opportunities are offered at the school, I was told about a teacher who "speaks another language but I don't know what it is." When I asked what their policy/procedure around name-calling in the classroom, they stated there wasn't one. If children are calling each other names, it won't be shut down and the educators may engage in the name-calling as well. When I shared our philosophy at home, that we don't call people outside of their names (that it's respectful to refer to people as they prefer)- and if people are called outside of their names, then the adults around shut down the behavior and role model appropriate/ humane treatment of other humans; I was then told that this wasn't the school for us because they would not shut down name-calling and that it would potentially be encouraged as "imaginative play." If you want a school that encourages name-calling and potential bullying, has indescrepincies on their website, and doesn't know their staff's backgrounds- this may be the place for you. If you want a school that encourages education, humane treatment, and cultural diversity- this probably isn't it.

One of the best decisions my parents and I ever could've made was transferring here my last year of…read moremiddle school. After a bullying problem at one of the other Catholic schools in town, this was a breath of fresh air. Students and staff were very welcoming and was such an easy transition (for an awkward 13 year old girl that is). I learned a lot academically and personally that year. I became better at math and science, and my math teacher (Mrs. Stratmoen) had actually inspired me to pursue math further. A little more expensive than some of the other Catholic schools in town, but well worth it
