Our family is so grateful for Hope Lutheran. Our son was enrolled during the 2020-2021 school year, and it's the best decision we made for his development and growth. Having come from another Christian private school that was more regimented and strict, we were initially worried our son wouldn't learn as much at Hope Lutheran. But we soon discovered that the school placed as much emphasis on each child's emotional and social development, as their educational growth. Lots of fun projects, outdoor play time, and letting kids be kids! School also takes Covid safety seriously and facility was always clean and sanitized. All around wonderful experience. I went here as a child and I got into all but one of the colleges I applied to. I give Hope the credit. Ms. Cynthia, the director is so kind. I also volunteered at the preschool a few times and the staff is very knowledgeable and hardworking. The summer camp is also amazing. Mr. Corey is a very fun and organized director. I love how well the team handled the COVID-19 situation. They were so interactive and creative. I appreciate and admire their work ethic and dedication. Hands down, this is is the best preschool experience available for your child! The school's director, the teachers, and the entire staff create a very warm, loving, and nurturing environment that is very conducive of social, personal, and academic development for young children. After shopping around the peninsula and in SF, we looked at Hope. We sat in and observed a class in progress. After our observation and speaking with the director, we knew that our search for the ideal school ended here. Hope was, by far, the best school we visited. The director of the school is clearly an expert in child development. When speaking to her, you can immediately get a sense that this is someone who has devoted her career to child education. She is a woman with a vision! She sets goals for the school and is constantly coming up with new plans to improve the learning experience for the children. Her energy is infectious! All of the teachers at Hope are very warm, loving, and nurturing towards the children. Through everything they do on a daily basis, it is very apparent that they put a lot of love into what they do. They are very attentive to the needs of each child. They exhibit extreme patience in getting to know the individualistic traits of each child. I have witnessed, firsthand, the care that they put into learning about the personality of each child and apply what they've learned about the child to develop the most effective manner in which to teach the child. It truly is an art what they do. The teachers at Hope have the patience of saints! I love Hope, and I cannot say enough great things about this school. Our son had attended one daycare/preschool previously but it was becoming far to expensive. After shadowing at Hope Lutheran with our son, we decided it would be a great fit. He has been there for almost six months and loves it. What I like most about the program is the structure, but not so much structure he doesn't learn how to play independently; and the great staff. I also enjoy that he gets an opportunity to play with all the children and not just kids in his age group of two. Although, the classes are divided by age, they do have group play time at the end of the day and play-yard so he gets to experience interaction with all the children at the school. Also, they do fieldtrips and a lot of school events and activities where they encourage parent involvement. The facilities are up to date, very clean and have a feel good sense about them. I have also noticed that our son was getting sick a lot more at his previous preschool, and find now that it happens much less often. He has become more independent since attending and always looks forward to going back the next day. read more

We left Hope Lutheran Day School 2 years ago when we moved away from Daly City to the East Bay. We ended up sending our 2 sons to 2 different preschools after we moved. Two years passed, we still miss the great time with Hope. Our younger son is still in preschool this year, though the school is great and cost double the tuition than Hope, Hope is still the best school we ever went to. The teachers were loving and patient. The school has 2 outdoor play areas, and a big canteen. It is the the high class kind of look but the school is safe and well equipped. Like I mentioned, the teachers and director are knowing what they are doing and put the benefits of the kids on the top. Love Hope Lutheran!!! Highly recommended!! read more

My son recently graduated from Hope Lutheran Day School and my daughter is attending this school right now. My son spent 2 years at this preschool and had a great time. He's always talking about how he loves this school - the friends he's made, the teachers and staff, the classrooms, etc. We really love this school also. It's a really good balance of academic and fun. The teachers and staff here are wonderful and so friendly. The classrooms are a great size and has many toys and crafts to keep the kids entertained and happy. The school also has some good outdoor play areas for the kids. This school is especially great for working parents. You can drop your child as early as 7am and pick them up before 6pm. The school provides snacks for the kids and you can purchase hot lunch for them as well, which both of my kids really like. They come home asking me to make the same things they had in school. The teachers and staff are also very conscious of asking kids to wash their hands before and after meals. My son is now in Kindergarten and his teacher says that academically he was very well prepared which I attribute all to his preschool experience. They took such great care of them there and are doing the same for my daughter now. I highly recommend this preschool to all parents with preschool-age children. I cannot say enough good words for the director (Ms. Cynthia), teachers and staff here. I only wish this school had an elementary school program so that my son could stay here. He still loves going back here to visit his teachers when we bring him to pick up his sister. We're already set in enrolling our youngest child here when he reaches preschool age. read more

We decided to enroll our daughter at Hope Lutheran because we had some friends who had their children there. There are many day schools in between where we live in SF to where the school is located in Daly City, but the drive and time to get there is well worth it. Their academic program is wonderful. It's fun and challenging. I've received compliments and amazement from friends and family as to how far ahead my daughter is academically for her age and that is attributable to Hope Lutheran. The staff is fantastic and I mean everyone who works at Hope Lutheran. There enthusiasm and happiness shows each day as they greet the children and the parents. They are so genuine, personable and nurturing, it's just wonderful. I highly recommend Hope Lutheran Day School. I am so glad my co-worker referred me to Hope Lutheran when she heard me looking at preschools for my son. Her sister sent her daughter there and was happy with school and staff. I scheduled to tour 4 different schools. Hope Lutheran came out on top. First, I noticed how clean the facility was. I loved the cafeteria. I met with the Director, Ms. Cynthia who was very kind and gave us all the information we needed. I couldn't wait to fill out the application. I brought my mom and mother in law later on to the school for their opinion and they too loved the school. These two are hard to please so I was happy we all agreed. As time went on, I can clearly see my son LOVES the school and his teachers. They have fun activities including a Christmas Musical that was amazing! We have been more than pleased with Hope Lutheran Day School. After touring several preschools, my 3 year old made the decision he wanted to go to Hope Lutheran on our first visit. He walked into the classroom, put his jacket in the cubbie and ran up to count to 20 with the class - "Bye mom!" A year later I can say this school has continued to be his second home. His teacher did an outstanding job communicating all my son's acheivements, and also gave us tips and guidlines to work on at home. Recently we have been working with him on his motor skills as a team. My two year old just signed up and we are looking forward to seeing him grow and develop here as well. My son graduated from Hope Lutheran and my daughter is currently in Hope Lutheran. We fell in love with Hope Lutheran the first time we observed the class. The teachers are very affectionate, attentive and caring towards the children. Because of my busy schedule at work, I am able to communicate with the teachers via email, which is a big help. Both my kids come home singing songs from school, share what they've learned each day and can't wait to go back the next day. I love HOPE and have referred many of my friends and family. read more

It seems like they have changed their summer day camp program. The kids have math in the morning, active worship time, small group, and creative activities every afternoon! The other thing is with this cheap tuition, the kids get to go on field trips almost everyday. But the best thing is the counselors here are cheerful and they actually love what they do! read more

We went to several different Preschools in the area of DalyCity/Pacifica, including Montessori. This has been the best experience for our toddler. They help potty train, teach multiple languages and are so nurturing to the Preschool transition. Very clean & healthy lunches provided by school. A great place to have your child exposed to multicultural and loving families. We will be sending our child to private school come K-8 & know Hope has prepared us for success! read more

My son has been attending Hope for 2 years now, and he loves going to school each day! The school is open from 7am-6pm, which makes it possible for parents to commute to work. Teachers are attentive and caring, and you can communicate with them via email when needed. Hot lunch is available for a small fee and the food is healthy and delicious. Kids get to play outside in the playground twice a day, which is fantastic. There is also a science class, a music class, a mandarin class, and a chapel time throughout the week. so Regret to enrolled my love one into this dirty place with Scabie everywhere. Lucky to disenroll my child after one and half month. The teachers are nice there; Unfortunately, the director has NO compassion. I've never met someone with such Fake smile such as the director in this school. I am strongly and will never recommend any of my friend to enroll their kid in this school. The philosophy of this organization shows only care about their income. They seems do NOT treat children's health at priority. No matter how danger/ harmful of Scabie to children's health, this school still placing children in such an dirty enviroment in order to keep their income. Hope Lutheran is a great school. The best decision I have ever made to enrolled my daughter in this school. I was first concern that my daughter wouldn't fit in the school. She didn't speak English and only understood Spanish. She wasn't even talking either. My biggest concern was the language barrier . I expressed my concern to the staff about communication barrier. The staff was really good in making sure that my daughter didn't feel out of place. My daughter has been enrolled in the school for a year and half now. My daughter is speaking English fluently and every once in a while some Chinese words. She comes home singing Bible songs, and always telling exciting stories that happen at school. The facility is very clean, and staff is super friendly. My daughter absolutely loves going to school everyday. The price and hours of the school are very reasonable also. My family and friends are impressed of all the things she has learned at the school. I highly recommend enrolling your child in this school, you won't regret. read more

While there are some good things about the school (convenient location, affordable price, neat classrooms, and great curriculum), its quality is only mediocre at best as there are some issues with the teachers. The principle is usually warm and welcoming, but many of the teachers there do not smile or greet you at all. After sending my kid there for a year, there are several teachers (including the ones who take care my kid) whom I still don't know their names as they've never bothered to introduce themselves and they have never talked to me. Most teachers do not speak fluent English so it is not the place to learn language. They do not check IDs when someone other than parents picks up the kids, which is a safety concern. Teachers always lose control of the kids. Whether in classrooms, in outside playgrounds, or in field trips, the teachers lack the skills to be in command and the kids are running around and leading their ways with the teachers trying to chase after them. When teachers yell, the students do not listen. Students should be taught discipline and appropriate behaviors in a group environment with the teacher being the leader and students followers, but it is the other way around here. In a recent school fair, students pushed and fought each other to enter into a play structure and it took the teachers a long time to organize and lineup everyone. It was dangerous to see it as the kids could easily hurt each other. They definitely need better training! read more
