Famous New York cut It's sculpture with the words hope spelled out in bright red letters. Located in theatre district portion of the city. Me and my good friend Jeremy were on small guys and sports trip to New York in the later April 2019 when we recognized this sculpture from either movies, tv or some other form of media so we stopped by to check this one. Very cool piece and fun photo op. Much larger then what either one of us would of expected. Overall classic, famous and fun piece of public art. Since our trip To nyc a few years ago I've really started to pay attention and appreciate public art. Makes me want to make a return trip to the city just to check out what I'm sure I overlooked on my lone visit back in 2019.

I hope that I will always be there when someone needs me I hope that everyone will accept me for who I am I hope that people will never die because of unnatural causes I hope that I will always ask for forgiveness from others, I will never be asked for my own I will always recognize my mistakes; that I will construct none I hope that everyday I do my very best, to become the best person that I can be There would be world peace I hope that when people say one person can't make a difference in this world, it isn't true because I've seen the difference one can make in the lives of those around you I hope that everyone will never stop hoping -- Tina C. I am totally enamored with "Hope" sculpture by Robert Indiana. It sits publicly outdoors on the corner of West 53rd Street and 7th Avenue in Theater District at Midtown West Manhattan, NYC. It is very accessible by MTA subway within the vicinity. This public sculpture is a great photo opportunity which can be very popular for tourists and locals to flock and click the shutter button for selfies. I sadly missed attaining a viewing of the "Love" sculpture. It is very simple design in bright red large letters. Where there is love comes hope. Hope is powerful.

The HOPE sculpture by Robert Indiana was a nice surprise after walking up from the Subway Station on W 53rd and 7th in NYC. Sadly, the LOVE sculpture on 55th and 6th is temporarily out of commission until the end of the year. But, this was certainly a great alternative! HOPE was unveiled at this location in 2014 on International Hope Day, which was also the artists 86th birthday. There were only a few people taking photos when I arrived, so it was short wait to take a solo pic. If you would like to see a LOVE sculpture before the original returns, I discovered a LOVE sculpture, albeit on a much smaller scale, while walking on the High Line walkway near Chelsea Market. Go and check it out!

So... I've passed this many times when I visited, but I had to stop to take a photo of it because... of the Korean Pop sensation BTS did a selca (selfie) here. I was visiting NYC for work and told myself to visit all the different locations they did selcas and so I did. It's a great structure and sends a beautiful message. HOPE... especially in the financial district where it's at. If we need a message of HOPE, it's definitely in the financial district. Anyways, there are tons of tourists there during the day, so you'll have people willing to take a photo for you. I was able to help people and they helped back. It was nice. Overall, it's a great place for a tourist photo.

Robert Indiana was a painter, sculptor, and printmaker. Declaring himself a "sign painter," the center of Indiana's practice revolved around assembling wooden sculptures from found materials and stenciling painted words onto them. Nevertheless, Robert's work has become extremely popular in New York with his Hope and Love art installations and is characterized by an American style of bright colors and clearly defined contour. Its an instant photo op even if most know nothing of the artist behind them. Today more than ever 'HOPE' has more meaning in our times than even the artist could imagine.

Taken by me October 5, 2016! Wonder how they are now.

This sculpture is so popular I can't get a photo. I've tried consciously at least three times. I've passed this way often. There's always people all around at the time of day I'm in this neighborhood. If you LOVE the Love Sculpture then you'll LOVE the Hope Sculpture. Great spot for a photo opportunity.

Woohoo new sculpture in the midst of mad tourist crowd! Not sure how long this sculpture has been around but pretty sure it's new. It's similar to the Love sculpture, which is also blocks away. The street is narrow per usual, if you want to take a picture - watch out and get out of the way!

    Have hope

Where there is Love there is also Hope. This sculpture sits on the corner of 7th Ave near 53rd St. Broadway is close by. Looking down the street you can see Times Square. This is another good sculpture made similar to the Love sculpture. Another photo opportunity if you have the time. This area however, is very crowded so It's hard to get a picture of it.unless you are able to "catch" the moment.

Another sculpture in NYC... But this is not popular as LOVE sculpture... Good to see, no queue at all.

Robert Indiana's "HOPE" http://www.hopeday.org ~~~ This an unbelievable find at the corner of 53rd and 7th Ave!
    Winnie W.

There is a powerful and bold word for anybody living in the 21st century to find in the corner of 53rd Street and 7th Avenue. This word is "HOPE" With all the activity occurring all around the city (and the world), I recommend locals and tourista alike to find and stop by midtown NYC sculpture. I find this Robert Indiana piece is just as important and powerful as "LOVE" (which is close by on 55th Street and 6th Ave)

Skyscape is a really engaging and a well designed experience. Theres a lot to see and do, with interactive spy style missions that kept both me and my son entertained the entire time! My son was completely locked in the whole time and I was right there pretending I definitely understood the instructions on the first try. It's mostly a hands on experience, you're not just walking through exhibits, you're actually participating, solving challenges and learning as you go. Even better, it didn't feel crowded, which made it comfortable to move through at our own pace. We were able to go back and redo some of the exhibits we enjoyed, which made the experience even more fun the second (and third) time around. Overall, a great mix of entertainment and learning, especially for kids but enjoyable for adults too. 10/10. My son loved every second. I loved pretending I knew what was going on.

They also offer free lockers (you'll want to remove any purses, bags, jackets, etc) as you'll be moving a lot. There's 10 rooms of a variety of games although some are similar or duplicates. You'll be very active jumping, climbing, and running around. The hour went by pretty quick but we were both sweating and exhausted by the end of it, so an hour is really all you need.

I was a little frustrated because our room which was supposed to be ready at 3 pm wasn't ready till closer to 3:15 as it was going through cleaning inspections. I will say the room was VERY clean so at least there's that. We stayed in the loft and it offered a great amount of room, esp for a New York hotel. The floor to ceiling windows are gorgeous. I appreciate that you can fully black out the rooms with curtains for quality sleep. I loved the lighting in the rooms and the bathrooms. I also loved that the shower had a single on/off control button and full sized products in lieu of minis. The room comes with the basic towels, tp, iron and then also includes a steamer! There is an amenity room on each floor where you can get more towels, an ironing board, and filtered water. The lobby bar is so fun to hang out at in the evenings. I loved the large couches. The staff was also really nice both and check in and check out. They held our luggage on both ends and were very nice to deal with. Finally, the location is amazing. You are close to so many bars and restaurants without being stuck in the hustle and bustle of midtown. Overall I really enjoyed my stay at the public. I would recommend to anyone traveling to New York!

These appeared on the UWS in October 2013 and most disappeared soon after that. An acrylic panel protects it from graffiti artists...such as Banksy. So ironic. Zabar's put up the protection and has made the public aware of this. Cool that a great place like that takes an interest in art. They have some of the best bagels so be sure to go get some. As Banksy has gone onto bigger things it's cool that one of his older projects is around. It's at Broadway and 79th on the side of a building. This is a few blocks from Zabar's.
