I was with a group and we stopped in for some hotel supplies, but happened to be there the week of the hurricane, so water (our main need) was scarce. WHEN ALL ELSE FAILS…read more.. After striking out with the local restaurants, I threw in the towel and decided that I would just go to the grocery store for something simple. The deli was already dismantled so we literally grabbed some noodles, My husband actually thought that he should look for their "Asian" section before I actually snapped him back to reality. Poor misguided thing, he actually thought that with the exploding Asian population in Cairo, this store would have a special section just for Asian cuisine. I grabbed some basic chicken noodles that I have not eaten in years and they were actually the best thing I have eaten in the past couple of days outside of my own homemade soups. Even though our purchase was very simple, the cashier was sweet enough to scan her courtesy card for the in-store specials. Customer service was quick and polite. Thanks Harvey!
