It's about 10 minutes from the freeway, and not hard to find because the signs are very visible. I'm so glad I stopped to get goodies to share with my family and friends. Be sure to get the blueberry ice cream. It is homemade by the Queen of the farm, and it like no other ice cream you will ever have. So happens that the farmer is from my home state, go Hoosiers! As we know, local honey is much better and more beneficial than store bought honey. The Frenchtown Farmer's Market is rather small. I would actually say it is smaller than the one out by Thomasville. However, the fresh produce and other goods are great....great quality and great price that is. I saw foods such as watermelons, sweet potato, tomatoes, okra, onions, and beans. There was also some great local honey from Walter, the bee keeper. He had some freshly cut sourdough bread for us to try the honey before purchasing. He had honey both with and without the honeycomb and they were $10 each. He also had some candles that were made out of bee pollen and said those, too were good for allergy sufferers. There was a stand where a lady was selling boiled peanuts; both spicy and non spicy. I saw some t-shirts for sale as well as some artwork. What I appreciated most was that there were people from different ethnic backgrounds and different ages. Everyone was so nice....it's not all the time you walk down the street and are greeted by everyone. There was even a young women set up street side who offered us some free water and free slices of watermelons. Many of the neighbors were sitting on their porches people watching and striking conversations with passersby. Although this is not a place where I could "stock up" on all the produce I desire, it is a great place to stop in to purchase a few items. I love that this market is still around and that some of the culture and history of Frenchtown is being preserved.

I lived in the Winter Park, Florida area for 40 years after growing up in Thomasville and I've not found a better farmers market anywhere. Zellwood has it's corn and Plant City-Lakeland area it's strawberries but the is no one place to shop and have the choices we have here in Thomasville. We returned to Thomasville 5 years ago and I'm so happy that there is this wonderful, well stocked marked in which to purchase things that we love. Even living in Central Florida, I have called Mr. Lewis and asked him if he would put aside a hamper of those wonderfull Georgia peanuts and that I woud pick them up the following week when I went to visit family here in Thomasville and he woud always have my peanuts saved in the cold vault just waiting for me to come by and get them.

The breading is thick and maybe a little undercooked. It's not crispy as it should be. I think the ice cream in the cobbler is soft serve vanilla. I've had their fried peach pie and that is the real star of the show. I will stick with that going forward. They also sell several types of fruit and produce. I 100% recommend their farm produce.

I'm in favor of supporting local business, so I stopped. Homegrown produce and eggs, fresh cut flowers and native plants (native to Tallahassee that is), plenty of homemade food and baked goods, along with locally roasted coffee and hand-crafted items were available among the various vendors. Free parking is a plus. Open from 8 am until 2 pm, I arrived at the market just after 12 noon. In speaking with several of the vendors, I was told that the market is on the rebound with more and more vendors returning each week. As someone into coffee, I stopped in and purchased several bags of roasted coffee from the husband/wife couple at Midtown Coffee Roasters. Hungry, I made a purchase of Indian food from that vendor. Purchasing early Christmas gifts for my kid's teachers, I visited Ken over at The Clogging Potter. Cookies and brownies from the father/daughter team rounded out my visit. Interesting little market.
