The place was so clean. Warm atmosphere. Joseph was walked as decided by his PT doctor at the Winnetka Home Care. Marina, Ripsik, Liana,and Nenita were help coordinating everything. Your loved one is cared for and loved just like you the significant other would do at your own home. Any food needed for your loved one is provided. Snacks are served. Birthday is celebrated. I was fortunate enough to be referred to "Miracle Assisted Living". Mom has been there for about two months. I asked for a tour and was greeted warmly by Rima, the administrator, and Diana, one of the caregivers. During the tour I was very impressed by how welcoming the home was. Diana and Susan, the other caregiver, keep the home very clean and organized. The home is built to accommodate people with handicaps with ramps and handicap bathrooms. Diana and Susan are always busy, either cooking the homemade meals, cleaning, or attending to one of the other residents. Both of the ladies take their jobs very seriously. Rima is very compassionate and understands what an emotional toll it must be to have your loved one taken care of by someone else. It's comforting to know that my mother is always clean, well fed and comfortable. I feel very blessed to have Rima, Diana and Susan helping me during this difficult time.

And it truly feels like a HOME rather than a "facility." My Mother has Alzheimers, and she is one of five elderly women living at Miracle. They are cared for by Diana and Ana - two amazing ladies who feel like family rather than caretakers. Every time I walk in the house, I'm greeted by Diana's smiling face and the smell of home cooking. And every time I leave, I actually feel great rather than feeling guilty for not having my Mom live with us. (She lived with us for two years after my father passed away, and it became untenable. My Mom is much calmer and happier now.) I honestly don't know how Diana and Ana do it - they have endless patience and warmth and compassion. Every time I visit, my Mom hugs Diana and tells me that she's her best friend. It is the most heartwarming feeling to see how happy she is. I should also mention Rima, who manages Miracle and a few other similar homes in the Valley. We were originally looking at one of the other homes because there was a vacancy, but after meeting my Mother, Rima suggested Miracle because she thought it would be a better fit for my Mom. She was clearly more interested in making sure my Mother was happy rather than trying to fill a bed. I can't say enough good things about this place and the people who run it. We feel so blessed to have found Miracle.

Where to start......My mother in law has been living at AvantGarde for 2 weeks - she has Dementia…read more(short term memory issues) and it was getting to the point where she needed not only care but stimulation. The staff here is amazing, they don't just do their jobs (and they do them well) they are all very kind, supportive and loving toward her. This is a woman who would not leave her apartment, slept until noon, getting her to get dressed was a big task but her nature is social. She was famous in her youth and a singer / dancer. I could not believe that she was up and out of her room (DRESSED) by 8am and didn't return until after 5PM on day 2. EVERY SINGLE DAY she is kept active, she's singing with the pianist, playing bingo, watching movies, doing arts and crafts AND they told me she was participating in the morning walk! One of the ladies there sent me a video of her singing with the pianist today - she is in her element. Her Doctor comes to her every month (more if she needed him). I was weary that they would not be able to get her out of her room and get her dressed. AvantGarde has surpassed my expectations. I can travel without worry, I can visit her without me being the caretaker, I can rest easy knowing she is having a great time and in loving, capable hands.

Based on direct knowledge and firsthand accounts, I have serious concerns about how residents are being treated. One resident I know personally was not properly cared for after a fall. After that incident, she was reportedly not assisted with meals or monitored to ensure she ate for three days. Her room has flooded twice, and because of how often this happens, it reportedly smells of mold, which raises serious health concerns. After the second flood, she was abruptly dismissed from her room so it could be cleaned and was not allowed to gather her phone, shoes, or any personal belongings. She was sent out in the middle of December wearing only sandals and no sweater. This showed a complete lack of concern for her safety, comfort, or dignity. What is most disturbing is the lack of empathy. This is a facility entrusted with the care of vulnerable seniors, yet the focus appears to be convenience and profit rather than basic human compassion. PLEASE STAY AWAY FROM THIS FACILITY!!!! Please choose another place. No one's loved one deserves to be treated this way.
