Service is very bad. The associates are very nice and the selection is usually in the right spot but BEWARE when you check out because every time I have purchased there has been a mistake. There are 3 different colours and they change month. 1 colour is 90% off, 1 colour is 75% off, and 1 color is 25% off. Right? Amazing deals but double check. After you purchase, check your receipt again. They can fix their mistakes until you leave the store. I've been missing out. We had come over here to this shopping center to grab some coffee but since we had already been to several Goodwill's and neither one of us had been to Hope's Closet, we decided to stop in. We read the reviews and all and we were amazed. Walking in, you definitely don't get the thrift store feel at first. Lotsa clothes and they are sorted by size and color whereas in other stores it's just by color and you hope you find it in your size. I didn't know that they carried a lot of new and name brand items. He found several shirts for work and home where I just found one, which happened to be pretty new-looking Jacksonville Lizard Kings shirt. We also found some nice looking dessert and wine glasses that were 50% off along with some cute sparkly earrings. Definitely will be coming in here more often. read more

My first time ever at this store but it will not be the last. A huge store that is well organized, clean and has excellent prices. Clothes are easy to find as they are grouped by size. Shoe selection was very organized as well. Shopping here I forgot I was in a thrift store. It's like a well organized department store. There are dressing rooms so you can try on clothing. In December, they (not sure if they still do) offered daily discounts on different items. I hit the jackpot, and the day I visited was 50% off all art. I found a few pieces that still hang on my wall. On my most recent visit, my niece and her husband wanted to go thrifting. They were looking for cloths, but I was looking mostly at home items. I bought a cute doggie picture frame and green capri pants. They found several items of clothes. I didn't know, but they also sell new clothing items too. If I could give them more stars I would. I was there today visiting from out of town and I found some really cool items but the best part was their Customer Care. My grandson had an accident and he threw up all over his clothes and car seat. As I was in the bathroom, cleaning him up one of the store associates saw me and offered to help. She brought me clothes a towel and went above and beyond to help me and she didn't have to so I really really appreciate it. So much fun! I want to give a special shoutout to the team of local community heroes here at this venue. The store is buzzing with patrons trying to find some good treasures. They have different sales according to the colors corresponding to the colors on the marquee sign. There's lots of clothing and even some new clothes. There's also housewares and furniture. The shelves are even being stocked as you shop. The staff that I encountered today were very friendly and pleasant. I had a found some pieces that I really thought that were extra special like a Sasquatch t-shirt and a Grinch coffee cup. There was several Coca-Cola souvenirs and Disney labels as well. Loved coming here so much as a customer, decided to come back as a volunteer. Absolutely lovely loving wonderful crew. They really are an amazing group of people. And the clothes are not only organized by size and type, but grouped by color! Makes it so easy to find what you want. All kids clothes are two dollars, and kids shoes are three dollars. My hubby told me about Hope's Closet a few months ago. He was in the area killing time waiting for our teen to finish volunteering and ended up here. He left with two pairs of jeans for $8 ea. I guess they were some brand that Lucky Brand carry for +$60 brand new. The following week, he asked me if I wanted to check it out with him so I went and I have to say, I see why he liked it. This place is huge! It's well organized and the staff are friendly. Some, if not all, are volunteers. I don't really know for certain, but I do know they have volunteer opportunities here. In order to volunteer, you have to attend an hr orientation session that's on the 1st Sat of the month at 10 am. Their regular prices are pretty reasonable, some may be slightly high for used items but they have flash sales it seems like pretty much all the time. I don't really pay attention to them and pick out what's nice and always pleasantly surprised when I look at my receipt and found out I bought something that was 50% or 75% off. My favorite thing to buy here are dresses. I don't wear the same dress very often so for the most part, my dresses look fairly new. I feel like that goes the same for the dresses I've found. Today I picked up an Apt 9 (Kohl's brand) dress for $2! It had a white tag so it was marked down 75% off. I've bought a Bcbgmaxazria and White house black market dress for $8 and $12. In addition to clothes, they carry shoes, accessories (jewelry, belts, scarves, handbags), home goods, furniture, etc. They sell both used, as well as new items from their partners such as Rethreaded and McKenzie Noelle Wilson Foundation. The thrift shop is owned by Church of Eleven22 so they're faith based and have community prayer huddles on Saturdays. Donations are accepted and the drop off area is in the back of the store. There are a few items that they do not accept so check their website before bringing in large items. All items are final sales with the exception of damaged electronics. This is my new favorite thrift store. If you've never been before, check them out but not on Sundays and Mondays since they're closed. read more

My daughters and I have been shopping here for a couple years. We've always really liked it.. decided to stop in today and we noticed that they've really jacked up their prices. It's very disappointing. I was literally shopping around and I saw these plastic paper plate holders. They literally had green briar international on the label which is from the dollar tree. they had two packages together marked for eight dollars. I brought it to the girls attention. Hopefully she fixed it. anything on it with Greenbrier international is from the dollar tree. read more

I would like to get a chance at some good bargins, but seems a lot of items are either held for certain people or sold out the back door.. dont get me wrong,,great place to shop, very friendly and helpful staff. prices are better than most thrift shops who try to get retail price for thrift items.. but you will hardly ever see video games, top albums, collectable toys, and who knows what else is being held in the back room for someone else. I am sure the people who run the stores has no idea what is going on..when someone who is volunteering to work in the back for their own benifit. I hope this wakes them up.. I have complained to mgmt. but had no results. sure the people who donate their items to help the churches programs would like to know whats going out the back door. read more

I have often donated to hope's closet, but recently needed twin sized sheets for a hospital bed ---- I called and someone actually went to check their inventory and confirmed that yes, they did have them and that they had both fitted and sets of fitted/flat sheets. I went in and was personally taken to where I needed to go and got them in short order. A wonderful experience and I would definitely return as well as continue to donate. read more

What a lovely Thrift Store with a cause. Neat and clean and something for everyone, the ladies here are hard at work helping all of the customers on the floor to find even the smallest item on their list. Today, Art work was on special, but I imagine that the special change on a daily basis. There was a ton a clothes, jewelry and in the back you could find some furniture and even housewares at reasonable prices. Everything in the store is well organized and the store is well lit so that shopping is not confusing or overwhelming even though the store is enormous. This place is huge. I must say the sales staff is plentiful and super friendly so you will have no problem finding someone to help you with a smile. Right now they are putting out Holiday decor daily so they are telling everyone to come in each day because they have tons of Holiday decor in the back room waiting to come to the floor. Today I left with an adorable Santa cookie jar and a vintage vase with etched daffodils. Total $14 This area of Thrift stores is definitely out of my way, but I cannot wait to come back again to see the next treasures I should not be buying. read more

To say I have found my favorite thrift store in Jacksonville would be an understatement. Yesterday I had the chance to visit Hope's Closet and was very impressed; I wasn't expecting what I found there. The store has all sorts of stuff; from clothes to toys to furniture to antiques to jewelry. They new and used items; and it much better than going to a Goodwill store. While I was there I found several things I wanted; but the best thing I got was a sweet antique mantel chime clock for $14. When I looked up this clock it was selling between $400 and $2000 on ebay; of course I need to put a little work into the one I got. Not sure if I'll list it after I clean it up or just keep it on the fireplace mantel. The store was laid out well and the organization of clothing sizes was great; something I like when going to a thrift shop. And the staff that was working was nice. I look forward to visiting Hope's Closet again in the new future for some more cool finds. read more

Full disclosure: I occasionally volunteer here, so I am slightly biased. Above and beyond expectations is the standard set at Hope's Closet. I often see customers who have experienced cancer, devastating family losses, and they receive love and empathy and prayers in a moment's notice. "Prayer huddles" are a daily event there, so if you wish to a ask for prayers for yourself or a loved one, you are welcome to join in. The store is organized, neat, colorful and ample inventory from art, household goods, name brand clothing for all ages, shoes, outerwear, furniture jewelry, bikes, electronics, books, sporting equipment, etc. Inventory moves quickly, so if you see something you like, you best pull the trigger. Excellent pricing on all items. amazing selection. You can equip your kids new apartment, donate your good conditioned household items, update your wardrobe, and have your spirits lifted all with one visit to The Beach Blvd store. I was able to find all the things l needed to make new start from clothing, kitchen utensils, furniture etc. The store is extremely well laid out and staffed by people who take the time to help. Then you have found the Mecca of Thrift Shops at Hope's Closet. It is a ministry/store sponsored by the congregation of the Church of Eleven 22. I took my girls to see if they could find some things for their Homecoming week costumes (everyday different theme) and was amazed to find an upscale thrift store. It is clean, well marked and had casual and formal clothes for men, women and children. Also had really cool purses, shoes and fashion accessories. They even had cool furniture sets to go with it. To give you an idea of prices, T-shirts for $4, dress shirts for $6 and shoes for $10. I bought a button down Ralph Lauren shirt for $6 and my girls bought $20 of shirts and t-shirts for their homecoming costumes. Not the religious type? Hope's Closet is not like your regular thrift shop... My brother and I went for the first time today, and we are OBSESSED. We are definitely going back this week! I have recently been into thrifting, flipping clothing, and rotating my wardrobe so Goodwill was my first instinct to go to! While I found great stuff at a few Goodwill locations, I cannot rave enough about HOPE'S CLOSET! The entire store is organized and feel so clean. The selection of clothing is massive, and there is so much to choose from. I got a steal on some shoes and jeans for about $6 each. I was not expecting much from Hope's Closet but it is a rare gem. My favorite thrift store by far, and quickly becoming my favorite store of all time since everything is in amazing condition for an amazing price. In addition, the employees were super kind. Huge store! Very well organized and very clean. It's like a Ross or Marshall's except the prices are lower and the items are "gently used". :-) Speaking of their items, I found their clothing to be in great condition and some items are brand new. Even the brand new items are priced low. It's a win-win situation when it comes to shopping here. I know this may sound crazy or a little anal, but even the smell of the store and the clothes are different. Meaning, you know you are in a "thrift store" just by the smell, whether it's, Goodwill, Salvation Army, or the Thrift Store. When I got home, I almost forgot to throw my clothes in the wash because my clothes didn't have that smell to them (just being honest lol). Anyway, they had a pretty good selection of accessories, such as, purses, jewelry, scarves, belts and hats. Their dressing rooms were clean and well kept. They even had a sign located on the outside and inside of the dressing rooms asking you to, please don't steal, see a staff member. I forgot to take a picture of it, but in essences it was saying, if you cannot afford the item, please do not steal it, just come see us first so we can work with you. It's possible they can make it affordable or even free for whomever, instead of committing a crime. I thought that was pretty nice and thoughtful of them. I am curious to know if a customer has actually taken an item to an employee and said, I can't afford this but I really want or need it. Hhhmmmmm.... this is a thrift store and the purpose is to make money, while helping people buy items cheap. However, I want to purchase a small purse, women at the register told me it was 5 buck. I wanted to ask her if they would take $4, there was no price on it. but before I could ask her, she answered the phone and than talked to the person on the phone, instead of ringing up my purchase . when she got off the phone , she told me it was leather , it there was no price on it . if there was a price of $5 on it, I would not have questioned her, this is a place with used items, not a upscale boutique. read more
