I had to send daily pics of the roaches partying in the hallways and apartment before anything was done. Original review: I lived there for years. First of all, be VERY suspicious of reviews here. Note that there are no recent reviews. Secondly, as a multi-year resident I can tell you that it was common knowledge that management offered financial considerations for positive on line reviews. I lived here for 6 years. Year after year, the condition of the property deteriorated and the rent increased. By the time I moved out, my rent had gone from $800 a month to $1500 a month. No routine maintenance of any kind was ever done on my apartment, save occasionally changing the HVAC filter. Black mold in and around air ducts. The roof had leaks that drained directly into my unit. Nothing ever done to correct. No painting. No carpet cleaning. And then, the neighbors! Crack heads, meth heads, children under 6 years old roaming the property for hours at a time unsupervised. No amenities other than a half-assed "dog park" (although dog feces was also prevalent throughout the property). Just another property managing company trying to squeeze max revenue out of tenants with minimal money put into maintaining the units.

Honest review of centennial station…read more I toured centennial station (as a young single professional) in the summer thinking how beautiful the community was and was convinced to move here. Nearly the day I moved in, I wanted to leave. If I could summarize the main issues: 1. There is NO SOUNDPROOFING. You will hear everything, everywhere, all the time. Car door slamming at all hours of the night is common. I haven't gone a night without earplugs. You hear everything upstairs neighbors are doing. 2. This community is right next to a railroad, under an airport flight path, a major road. You hear all of it plus sirens and fireworks. 3. The management did not want to solve tenant problems and noise complaints. over a year of the same issue persisting. The solution is YOU moving out or paying much more to move units. 4. Every tenant pretty much has a pet with added pet excrement everywhere. I also witnessed the occasional large dog attack other dogs in broad daylight. Lots of barking. 5. The facility fees are exorbitant on top of high utility fees. I pay minimum 140 for utilities due to bad energy efficiency and high carrier fees in the area. For a studio, I pay 1700 a month. They raise prices every year. 6. Gates are always broken. Food delivery drivers are constantly coming in and out which totally negates the "gated community" perk. 7. 60 day notice makes it very hard to move out. There is a reason there are a plenthora of available apartments and constant revolving tenants.

Pros- Lori, the current manager, is a really nice lady who is attuned to tenant's needs. She made sure that most of our maintenance requests were tended to within a day or two. The building is nice and clean inside (hallways), and always smelled pretty great. I'm not sure why, but clean-smelling hallways seem reassuring to me. Also, we never found many bugs inside the apartment even though we were on the first floor! Score. The building just got some brand new coin-operated washers and dryers, only a dollar to wash and a dollar to dry, not too bad. The back area of the apartment is mostly fenced in- it was a great place to let my dog out, and as long as I kept a watchful eye he could roam around off leash. This apartment is in a great location, close to Mt. Lookout square with plenty of bars, good restaurants, a nice UDF gas station, and only a 20-30 minute walk to Hyde Park square... a great little outing on warm nights. It felt safe to walk around by yourself, even during the night. Ault park is nearby, the Ohio River Bike Trail connects going south on Delta ave., and the surrounding neighborhoods have beautiful, old houses that are fun to discover on walks and runs. If you are someone who likes being outdoors, running/walking/biking, you'll find yourself in good company and surroundings. Cons- The apartments are old, with ac units and radiator heating- they can get a bit hot in the summer. Not the most energy efficient. Kitchens are tiny. Neighbors/maintenance can be a bit loud and/or rowdy, but that can be expected in most shared housing situations. Delta avenue seems to attract some crazy drivers, especially during the night - we saw a few bad accidents during year we were there, so watch out! We also had a package stolen once from outside our door. We just recently received our entire deposit back in a timely manner, and overall, are very satisfied with our time at Somerset. Thanks Lori!

Somerset had a lot of promise but falls on the lower end of the spectrum due to management. Right off the bat, I couldn't obtain, even by paying, extra keys for pet sitter, etc. Had to use a lockbox on a light post for more than a year. The apts are "renovated" (and you pay for it) but it's not done well. My vent fan in bathroom was spitting construction dust every time my neighbor walked upstairs (the walls and floors/ceilings are so thin, you hear everything - everything) and come to find out it's because they *painted over it* when "renovating" the bathroom (tub also peeled the entire time I lived there despite repair attempts). I'd report water damage from unsealed doors and windows and they'd come scrape the plaster that needed to be repaired - but then never repair or paint it. T*ffany the designated contact sent frequent texts with questions like "Did you dump clothing in front of the building?" No, I did not. The one thing they won't text to warn residents about? When two men were breaking into cars in the lot at 4am and pretended to pull a gun on me and pushed me when I startled them. Reported it to building and residents got nary an email. Mgmt enters your apartment A LOT. Like once a month. One time it was to make a list of apts that had various amenities (they don't keep track???). You nearly always only get the legally mandated minimum notice. On a work trip and can't spend 4 hours the next day doing their list to get it ready? Not there to secure your pets? Oh well! They assume no one goes anywhere and can take a half day off work. I was told after year lease that apt would go "month to month" at market rate - LOL. Market rate would've been lower than I'd rented it for, they raised it significantly, then added a "balcony charge" as well as a $200/month surcharge for being month to month. Jumped from $1300-ish to $1800-ish. Needless to say I got the h*ll out of there even though I preferred to not sign another year lease as I want to buy -- that's how much I wanted out. The place is also incredibly noisy - from both your neighbors as well as the outdoors. It looks nice when you look at it but start poking around and it's all smoke and mirrors.

The staff, was not only incredibly friendly, but was on a first name basis with some of the residents. The gym looks really nice, as well as the tv room downstairs in the lobby. Maria was the one helping me at first. She was super helpful and was able to answer alllll of my questions. Unfortunately, she was not able to give us the tour but Jonah was equally as great. The model we are renting was not even finished being built yet, but he still took us to the location so we could see the view out of it. We haven't moved in yet, but so far we love it!

I am a current resident and feel unsafe. I've had two packages stolen from the mail room which is…read moreunlocked from the outside (it has key lock but it's generally open) and from inside the garage for anyone to walk in. I voiced my concerns to the management team both times my packages were stolen and they did not take it seriously, in fact they made it like it was my fault or immediately told me it was likely the delivery driver who stole it. When I initially alerted them with the first theft, the manager stated she would get back with me once she reviewed the footage, she did not. I followed up and she quickly made it seem like it wasn't something she was concerned with. The second package theft they stated they looked through 48 hours worth of surveillance, which is unlikely to do in the 45 minutes from when my complaint was received by their office to when they emailed stating they had reviewed all the footage. They suggested that I should have my packages sent to the UPS store across the street. When asked if they could at minimum put up signage stating there was video surveillance to potential deter theft, he told me "they just take them down" Overall, this is an environment where residents concerns are not taken seriously and instead made to feel inferior for even asking for assistance. Theft is occurring here and I'm sure I'm not the only one. I've read other google review with the same complaint from a year ago.

It was beautifully decorated and had a great view from a smallish deck. Although it had two bedrooms, the living space was rather limited and we decided too close for comfort for us. The complex amenities include a nice pool and fitness area. Detached garages are available, but primary parking is in lots.

I'm escalating their way of business to the BBB. They need someone on site 24 or atleast a number we can called or something. Twice in the last month I have not had any hot water. It's in a terrible neighborhood and there has been a ton of break ins recently. They keep promising to put cameras up but seeing is believing. The surrounding areas for food are pretty bad. I always go out of the area to shop for grocery's or get food or anything in general. I moved across the country not knowing what was what and I really regret moving here to the apex UPDATE : 8/30 the power is out yet again. I have no clue why but this is the 5 time since I've been her since December 2023. Neighbors got power to the right the other building across the street has power but the central units keep losing power. Losing power and water multiple times is absolutely terrible. Feel like I'm in a third world apartments. Called Duke and all they can say is power will be on shortly.
