Tears forming as the flavor took us on a ride to our most sweetest moments in time. Crispy, stuffed with gold, I could eat thousands of these. Next, the Mikey's Premier Burger. The patty was so moist that the crispy bun with it created a wonderful mouthfeel. I'm not even sure what sauce was on the burger but it completes it. This burger requires no extra work from you. It's packed with flavor. Of course it is accompanied with 3 time fried thick fries. You could break these open and see the heat coming out. It was very hard to let these cool before eating. My wife ordered the Grilled a chicken with mushroom sauce. Home run. I know assume that you cannot go wrong with any choice here. Cheers to this gem in a lovely town. The group also had the burger and fries which was excellent while 2 of us had the chicken schnitzel topped with greens and fennel. The schnitzel was the best meal I've had in months. The server was attentive and the food arrived in a timely manner. If you are done seeing the Rock of Cashel and are looking for an excellent lunch or dinner spot give Mikey Ryan's Bar and Kitchen a try.

Its a remote spot at a road junction with plenty of parking with a big banner advertising their food range. Its home cooking at its best, with bacon & cabbage, roast chicken, home-made beefburgers in onion gravy, meat & mushroom pastry pies, curry dishes etc, all typical Irish dinners to feed many a farmer and weary traveller. There's an excellent special at €12.95 for a starter & main course, or main course and dessert which also includes tea or coffee. Otherwise, most mains are €8.95, start & desserts from €3.95. Vegetable soup was the starter and it was freshly made, very tasty, and the homemade brown bread was delicious. The beefburger smothered in onion gravy was good quality beef and its sides of crunchy fresh salad and hand-cut chips added to make for a hearty meal. A little dessert of the profiteroles between us was followed up with a pot of tea for two. We were well fed, attended to by a smiling young local girl, and chatted lightly with locals on a lovely sunny day. We hope to be back locally on business soon, and will look forward to next on the menu.

However, the back door was open and many locals came in through the back run after the front was closed. So check the back door even if the front looks closed. They have live music Wed and Sun nights and is a mix of traditional Irish music and more contemporary music. There was a quartet playing when we got there but various folks in the bar swapped in and out to play different instruments or sing songs. The quality of music was surprisingly good. The crowd is mostly locals with a smattering of tourists who seem to have been referred there by other locals (possibly hotel staff). The folks there and the barkeep were very friendly and welcoming. The prices were very reasonable (though I don't have a good base of comparison within Cashel). Would definitely recommend the pub for a local pub experience (especially on a night they have live music).

We also were a group of 13 and they are fairly new to being opened as I understand. The menu is good and we had a good variety of food at the table. Unfortunately I think that we were just too big of a group for one person - there was many little things that seemed to go wrong but which also affected the enjoyment of the food. I know that when I ordered - I had the burger and fries. I was very clear when I ordered that I liked ketchup and needed a lot of it and she assured me I would have it. I ordered the appetizer fries to come with my meal which were a parmesan truffle fry. I had to ask at least 3 times to get ketchup and was so frustrated because I had my meal for 25 minutes before any ketchup was brought - oddly they had delivered some to the opposite end of the table - but even then it was only 3 little dishes. I say this all the time - stop serving ketchup in those little containers and put it on the table for people to use as they see fit and not have to beg for it. Honesltly my burger was okay - but it was so cold by this time that I can't even really give a fair judgement of it. The truffle fries were also disappointing - just fries covered in parmesan - couldn't see any truffle oil or taste it. Several people in our group were very happy with their meals - but several of us were not. My brother was frustrated because he had also ordered soup and none was every brought. The big hit of the night was the espresso martini - they were delicious. We got desserts to go and again - some were very happy with them but most were not. I had a berry truffle if I remember right and it was honestly delicious. I think one of my siblings commented on how common the menu was appearing - many places seem to have a similar menu - it's like they are catering to travelers but it's also a little disappointing because they have replaced some American food to satisfy travelers but you struggle to find some of the basics that travelers are looking for as well - Irish stew, cottage/Shepard's pie, boiled ham and cabbage. While I appreciate the efforts there was frustrations in the food - at one point they were trying to deliver the food and it was very unorganized - the woman who had taken the order was not part of delivering it - so they would just come to the table and start asking who ordered the dish they were carrying - one was a side salad and I asked if it had French dressing (which had been requested) and after 3 times of going back and forth the person delivering the food said, 'sure, whatever when I asked if it was the one with French dressing. Appreciate that the meal was free but honestly I left feeling like if I lived there I would give them another try just to see if they could get past the hiccups that come with a new restaurant but it would not be for awhile and honestly I would hesitate to return.
