I gotta say I struggle with writing a review for a place that I have only tried once, but seeing as this was in Ireland and I will probably not be back in awhile - I'm gonna go ahead and write it. I should note that this is owned by the man who owned the AirBnB that we stayed in and due to many problems with the home - he comped us dinner for the night which was appreciated. We also were a group of 13 and they are fairly new to being opened as I understand. The menu is good and we had a good variety of food at the table. Unfortunately I think that we were just too big of a group for one person - there was many little things that seemed to go wrong but which also affected the enjoyment of the food. I know that when I ordered - I had the burger and fries. I was very clear when I ordered that I liked ketchup and needed a lot of it and she assured me I would have it. I ordered the appetizer fries to come with my meal which were a parmesan truffle fry. I had to ask at least 3 times to get ketchup and was so frustrated because I had my meal for 25 minutes before any ketchup was brought - oddly they had delivered some to the opposite end of the table - but even then it was only 3 little dishes. I say this all the time - stop serving ketchup in those little containers and put it on the table for people to use as they see fit and not have to beg for it. Honesltly my burger was okay - but it was so cold by this time that I can't even really give a fair judgement of it. The truffle fries were also disappointing - just fries covered in parmesan - couldn't see any truffle oil or taste it. Several people in our group were very happy with their meals - but several of us were not. My brother was frustrated because he had also ordered soup and none was every brought. The big hit of the night was the espresso martini - they were delicious. We got desserts to go and again - some were very happy with them but most were not. I had a berry truffle if I remember right and it was honestly delicious. I think one of my siblings commented on how common the menu was appearing - many places seem to have a similar menu - it's like they are catering to travelers but it's also a little disappointing because they have replaced some American food to satisfy travelers but you struggle to find some of the basics that travelers are looking for as well - Irish stew, cottage/Shepard's pie, boiled ham and cabbage. While I appreciate the efforts there was frustrations in the food - at one point they were trying to deliver the food and it was very unorganized - the woman who had taken the order was not part of delivering it - so they would just come to the table and start asking who ordered the dish they were carrying - one was a side salad and I asked if it had French dressing (which had been requested) and after 3 times of going back and forth the person delivering the food said, 'sure, whatever when I asked if it was the one with French dressing. Appreciate that the meal was free but honestly I left feeling like if I lived there I would give them another try just to see if they could get past the hiccups that come with a new restaurant but it would not be for awhile and honestly I would hesitate to return. read more

Great little pub with a cozy feel. Had a toasted special and a cup of soup. My gal had the chowder. All were excellent. My soup was vegetable. Had quite a bit of curry to it and not quite the tomato or beef broth this Yelper is used to. Was served piping hot with a side of brown bread. Toasted special was served with chips. Our server quartered it which made it easier to share with my bride. Spot on with ham, cheese, tomato, and onion. Minus one star for the curry, but who's fault is that really? read more

We had a sharing platter to start between the four of us and it was huge and delicious. For main We all ordered mussels And chips and they were super. Very cosy pub with great food and good prices, we stayed for about 5 hours after as the service was great and it is a really comfy place for chatting and enjoying a few drinks! read more

Our airbnb recommended this quaint little spot for us and we weren't really expecting anything crazy spectacular but OMG what an amazing little spot. I hands down had one of the best meals ever. (Pork belly and winter vegetables). And I am quite the foodie with having lived in Portland, OR the town of all foodies lol, and Louisiana. They were very kind and sat us by the crackling fire and asked us questions about where we were visiting from. 20/10 great experience! I can't wait to go back someday. read more

Hey folks, this is a legitimate 5 Star review from a well-travelled foodie (i don't just hand out perfect ratings "willy-nilly"). Here's a brief recap: We started with an appetizer of soup and salad (both scrumptious and sizeable). The friendly server was honest in her recommendations for the foods (skip the goat cheese app) and quick in bringing the dishes. We had the seafood platter which was fantastic (crab, mussels, shrimp etc. with 2 excellent sauces...more than enough for 2 at a mere 26€). We finished it off with the vanilla creme brule which was PERFECT. In the end, the meal was less than 50 euro but worth 2x that. Bon apetit friends! read more

We had burgers with cheese and bacon here yesterday which were exceptional and left no room for dessert. We have returned for dessert today. The ladies have been great, very friendly. We will definitely be returning for more before we return to California. read more

Stopped for a drink and bite to eat on a road trip. Irish stew was good, fish cakes didn't have much flavor and the colcannon had too much potato and not enough cabbage. Service was great and the atmosphere was nice. Food alone would get a 2 star. read more

Great food and service. We had dinner Thursday night and went back last night. The duck, Irish stew, and lobster were superb. We had the dessert sampler-wow. Our server Maureen treated us like long lost friends. Best food in Ireland. read more
