I normally do not have issues with HSHS, and their nurses are kind, caring, and very helpful. Tonight on the other hand, I spoke HSHS call nurse Beatrice who was condescending and sarcastic. Made sure that I had "read the instructions on my bottle" as if I had not, when I had read (in the pamphlet given with the medicine) about side effects and how you can only take a certain amount of dosages in a month. She made sure to repeat herself in case I hadn't heard the first or second time. By the end of the conversation I realized that she just wanted to be patronizing. I hope you feel better, Beatrice. I will not be calling the after hours nursing staff again because if that's the level of care they're demoting to, then I'll just figure it out on my own. read more

Worst service ever. At the pharmacy I was lied to repeatedly. I picked up the eye drops I need to take on a daily basis. All 3 bottles had been opened and there was very little medication in each bottle. Obviously, I refused to use it. Medicare said call the advantage plan. Network Health is a joke. They yapped, "Go back to the pharmacy." 'Fraid not. They're not going to fix the mess. Also I called good ol' Pfizer about their problem. Again, all talk, no action. This is the most unprofessional, uncaring, and irresponsible group to ever run a healthcare system! They claim to be a Christian organization but Jesus actually cared about people, whereas to HSHS you're nothing more than a dollar sign. For 12-years I had the best doctor and clinic in the world, extremely caring and knowledgeable; then HSHS came in and took them over. My Dr. gave up his practice soon after that and the care I've received for the past 8-years has quickly gone down-hill. Without going into too much detail, this was my last straw... A few months ago they told me that a test they ran on me came back negative, it wasn't. They were either extremely incompetent or just outright lied to me about the result (something that has become commonplace for them). The actions they took quite literally put my life in grave danger and here it is now 6-months later and I'm still not out of danger. I tried talking to them but they weren't interested in listening. After my primary caregiver explained that there was nothing more she could do because her directives came from the "higher-ups" in the corporation I tried several times to contact someone there to at the very least explain their position but was met with complete silence. After several futile attempts to contact them via email, I sent a letter to their CEO, Melinda Clark. It turned out to be another dead end when I never received a response from her. After some searching, I found the email for their president/CEO, Mary Starmann-Harrison, and sent her a detailed message asking her to explain to me what went wrong, how their actions put my life at risk, and what they were going to do about it? From her response, it was obvious that Mary Starmann-Harrison felt that dealing with a patient was below her and she directed me back to my PCP. I replied that she was unable to help me and that's why I was turning to her because she's the one in charge. After a week without an answer, I sent her another email, to which she replied to by again telling me to contact my PCP. This went on for over a month, her not answering my emails until I sent a follow-up one a week later. All she did was ignore me, and my problem, and never took any responsibility for their carelessness. Finally, she told me to find another care provider (the best advice I've ever received from anyone at HSHS). I see several different doctors for a spinal cord injury as well as PTSD and after explaining what HSHS did they all reaffirmed that the treatment I received was extremely dangerous and irresponsible. So, as I stated before, they are very uncaring and unprofessional and I strongly recommend that you steer clear of every single one of their doctors, clinics, and hospitals.
