We got a cramped room with 4 beds which had very uncomfortable mattresses and was a bit stuffy. There are two shared bathrooms as well as one for women only, but on our last day the plumbing broke in the hostel and nobody could have access to any water for several hours. Taking a shower was a race against time as the shower clogged and the water filled up before slowly trickling down the drain on the days it did work. I'm giving this place 3 stars because of the very nice hospitality from the staff. Walking distance to the center of the town so it is very conveniently located.

The location is great, 5-10 minute walk from the center of the city, so it's perfect for spending the night. The breakfast is toast(cold) , with butter, and jam, but you put as much as you'd like. Another choice is a bowl of granola which you could mix with other things like fresh fruit, and yogurt. They also had freshly squeezed juice. The beds in this place are worse than sleeping on a straw matt. The hot water works until 12 pm, there are 3 shared bathrooms, one is for women only, and a total of two showers, one of which is in the women's bathroom. The shower that is unisex was clogged, with women's hair(I pulled some out), and continues to fill slowly until you finish showering. Their water main broke, and even though it isn't their fault, I had to remove a star for that. Rooms are slightly cramped, and the walls are completely transparent to sound. The French people staying near us were making weird noises. They have WiFi, but on my android it only reached the courtyard, but not up to my room. The price for the 4 bed(2 bunk bed) was 100$ a night for a 15'x12' room(5m x 4m). The people who run this place are very sweet, and put a lot of effort, after the water main exploded, they got the water running within 2 hours, but the noise was loud. Also there is no heating, and zero insulation, so it was chilly at times. They are also very friendly, and this place feels safe, and has a person watching the main door 24/7. The staff was amazing, breakfast was great, the lady owner was super! Our bed was made everyday and free breakfast each morning from 830 to 1030. My family was…read morelucky that our room had a bathroom, but we did have to shower in the shared restrooms which were also clean. The location was perfect. It was easy to walk around Leon and a short drive to Guanajuato and other historical touristy sites. Definitely recommend this place! My family will be returning here again soon!
