Considering the price (about $46/night) we were THRILLED with this little hotel! It was very basic--similar to a "business hotel" in Japan--but spotlessly clean, and the staff went out of their way to be very helpful & friendly. If you happen to stay there, tell Andrea that the 2 wacky girls from Hawaii (with the macadamia nuts) said hello!
On top of everything else, the location can't be beat...literally a block from Puerta del Sol, and smack dab in between the Museo del Prado & the Palacio Real de Madrid, both of which are within walking distance! Overall, I can't say enough about this place; and would highly recommend it to anyone, as long as you're not looking for luxury accommodations or all the bells/whistles.
As a sidenote, shampoo, soap, etc were provided...free wi-fi was pretty strong...and each room has a mini-refrigerator, though we never needed to use ours. Breakfast was not included, but that worked for us b/c we wanted to try all of the eateries around there. We stayed a total of 3 nights (Tue/Wed & Sun), on 2 separate occasions (different room each time), and slept well every night (though I'd probably give the beds themselves 3-3.5 stars). read more
