I found this place on a visit to Mexico City in 2015 and had a great time. Six years later and nothing has changed. Funky atmosphere, great music, fun people and an outstanding Mezcal Mojito. Hats off to the owners, finally met them on this trip. One of my favorite stops

Very cool little pub. Not too far from the Zócalo. Great atmosphere, service, and food. The menu is extensive with a variety of different offerings...Spanish tapas, Mexican, Argentine, Italian. A good varieties of beers, wines, and cocktails. Highly recommend checking it out if you are ever in the Historical District.

There are plenty of spots to go in CDMX if you want great food surrounded by fellow tourists or expats, but Hosteria La Bota is one of those places where you can enjoy great food surrounded by locals. Star 1: How were the service and atmosphere? From their trendy decor to their genuinely funny English menu, Hosteria La Bota is a local spot with a contemporary twist that will likely remind you of your favorite local hole in the wall back home if you're here from out of town. The servers are great, and while there will likely be a notable wait if you're here on a peak night, it's worth it. You can either jumble through limited Spanish like I did much to the amusement of the servers or you can just drum up their English menu and play the pointing game. Star. Star 2: How were the portions relative to the cost? Intrigued by Hosteria La Bota's expansive selection of unique tortas, my buddy and I split the 'Classic Turtle', which is a large torta served doused in enchilada sauce and covered in cheese. This was nearly a pound of food, and with a pricetag of only 60 MXP it was the definition of a bargain. Star. Stars 3 and 4: How was the food? This was a solid dish. Imagine a mixed-meat torta doused in enchilada sauce and then covered in melted cheese. questions? Single Star. Star 5: Would you eat here every day if you could? I'd highly recommend a visit to Hosteria La Bota if you're in CDMX. Star.

Friendly service, good atmosphere, the food was great! I came here on a rainy evening, first night in Mexico, was able to order easily. I had the Masteroaiani - like a calzone smothered in sauce. Good stuff.

Very neat place! Open late, lots of options for food, great music and a nice mix of patrons who are local or visiting. The staff are very friendly and the service was good. Relaxed atmosphere and a good place to have drinks with friends. Close to the metro. There is only one bathroom and it's not very well kept but other than that I really enjoyed my time here. Would definitely return!

Mediocre food, at best. Shockingly bad service. This place sucks.

Their website said the dinner went from 830-1030, but it doesn't actually start until 9 and the show ends closer to 1130 (though the wine does stop 2 hours after they first bring it out) The four course meal is enough to keep you full, but none of the dishes are spectacular. I liked the entree the best, the boar was really tender and the nutty sauce complimented it well. It's hard for me to not like a dish where nutty is one of the predominant flavors so take it with a grain of salt. The show was very well done, even as someone who doesn't speak Spanish I found it very entertaining. They had a wide range from musical performance to acrobatics and audience interaction with giant jesters. While the show was a fun time I do think there are better ways you could spend a Saturday evening if you're only in town for one weekend. If you happen to live in the area or be around for an extended period of time I think it'a a fun night out.

The lechon was also very good. The paella was ok because I think they need to get it out soon. Service and drinks were really good. Amazing ambiance and super clean restrooms.
