I reallllly enjoyed my dinner at Bowie, and so did the rest of our group Their menu is pretty vegetarian/ pescatarian friendly. I ordered all four of the vegetable dishes on the menu, and all were impeccable. The drinks were also tasty and unique. I'm surprised this place isn't more we known/ busy. I definitely recommend it!

Beautiful restaurant located on a side street with an open patio that was perfect for a drink. My michelada with extra lime was delicious and who can go wrong with Patron tequila? The guacamole was made table side by our waiter and was chunky and made with chiles, radish, cilantro, and plenty of lime. It was served with a basket of toasted corn tortillas which were perfect for dipping. The elote was a bit underwhelming as it had WAY TOO much of the spicy mayo sauce slathered on it and the kernals weren't so meaty. Be sure to ask for the sauce on the side!

Served with the freshest of fresh.

Many, many times as an outsider, a spectator, i walked past Bowie Cocina and wondered what made it stand apart from say, any other restaurant, cocina, establishment? There are many little details that do stand out and that are worth noticing. First, the service, despite the complete hurried, upstart, and typical environment you'd expect of the ritziest restaurant found in Lomas, Polanco, and San Angel, the service is superb and attentive ot every movement within its doors. The variety of different textures is unique, example - the pumpkin pie, in the form of yes, cheese sticks, was - I was wondering if I ordered the wrong thing. Tempted to order the marshmallows that are cooked in front of you in a fast mode of Smores-over-a-fire, I am so satisfied with a pumpkin pie you can only imagine, but the taste as sweet with the cinnamon, you realize the texture is 100% different than any other location you could get pumpkin pie. The pechuga de pavo torta style and Guacamole definitely hit the spot, and you get to love the location as the traffic moves past you and you are able to take in a exquisite experience, fancy, yet relaxing, amid a hurried rhythm that is able to escape your table.

This place is a jewel tucked on a little side street of La Roma neighborhood in CDMX. Perfect vibe and a smoked menu that steps outside of the expected and serves it up with creativity and a twist, perhaps that's the reason behind the joint's name? Didn't ask. Back to the food... if you eat meat, try the bone marrow tacos, one portion is enough for two and you will brag to everyone about how good it was. Then wash it down with the mean cocktails on the menu or just let the bartender surprise you, you won't regret it. Salud!

Cool oldies (blues music) in the background.

Fantastic service! We randomly stumbled across this restaurant while walking through Roma. We were welcomed with open arms, they were patient with us because of the language barrier. Sergio was SUPER helpful...we will definitely be back!!! Check out the pictures!!!!

Elote with fiery husk and smoky/ spicy mayo!

A real surprise and treat in Roma. Many drinks and dishes with a hint of smoke nuanced a delicious meal. We started with Pulpo ceviche in (I think..) a squid ink sauce that was sublime, spicy, tender, and beautifully balanced. My 24 hr cooked short rib was divine but my Wife's fish and chips- with a squid mayonnaise redefined the dish's name. The accent of elote with a fiery husk and spicy chipotle mayo was again redefining. We finished with bunuelos ( creatively named?) crispy sweet fried strips with dollops of black cherry flavored chocolate. Pricing is a terrific value, music excellent, and another memorable CDMX foodie experience!

We had to wait quite awhile (maybe 20 minutes) at the front for a table to open up, but there was plenty of décor to photograph in the meantime. We were escorted upstairs. Our bench table overlooked the rest of the venue. So colorful and breathtaking!! Love all the Instagrammable plant walls with neon lights. The menu for this place is insane. So many different vendors to order from. The waitress came by, and I gave my partner the freedom to order a cocktail for me. And our shared food, for that matter. The cocktail was pretty good. I'm especially obsessed with the stylish mug it came in. For dinner, we shared a Brazilian dish containing stredded beef, black beans, white rice, egg, yucca, and plantains. SOOOO delicious. No music beyond the 2 guitar player going around table to table to see if you wanted a serenade. Skipped their offer 1st time around. Pretty quiet, bright and clean. Found that waiter spoke a little English and with our little Spanish got things done. Menus are bilingual Spanish-English. Ordered 4 lamb tacos, chile en nogada, cooked chicken in green sauce and a fish dish (forgot name, little spicy) then a coke, horchata and a pineapple drink. We got chips, cheese, sauce while waiting. Those were all nicely done but average. Dishes out maybe 10 min later. All presented well and hot. We shared each dish. Lamb tacos nicely done, little dry, but they give you some guacamole, a brown sauce, along with the green sauce and cheese with the tortilla chips. Nice, not fatty. Next was the chiles en nogada. First time tried this and really enjoyed, many flavors and nicely flavored beef. In general little on sweet side, so probably couldn't eat more than 1. The chicken in green sauce was a homey, comfort food. Nicely cooked chicken leg and thigh was an ever so slightly spicy sauce. Also came with tortilla wraps and Spanish riceLastly was the spicy baked fish. Done well, fell apart pretty easily, was spicy, but not too much. Had green beans on side done well, not too soft or hard, and Spanish rice. Drinks were all a hit. Coke is coke. Horchata and pineapple juice served in big mugs. Pineapple tastes freshly squeezed and horchata was a super solid example in every way. Oh almost forgot, later in the meal we figured out how to get the 2 guitar fellows to play for us. 2 songs for 300 peso, about 7min total. They did a good job with both the guitar and singing, was enjoyable to listen to them. Would stop back again if in area.

Even though it was at 9:15 p.m. I had awoken that morning at 230 a.m. Eastern standard time and flew to Mexico City and conducted business all day long and finally after checking into the hotel was able to eat dinner really late at night. The staff from the very beginning were impeccable. Made sure that we were relaxed and had everything we possibly could want. We did opt for the tasting menu with the wine pairings. The evening started with a couple glasses of sparkling Mexican wine. It is the second time in my Life I had sparkling from Mexico, the first occasion being at my oldest daughter's wedding... This time the quality of the sparkling was much higher. The meal also begins with a local Crudité, fresh guacamole, and Panera cheese. You didn't get to choose four more courses, each course with 4 to 6 options...and another mole course. We then got to choose a cold starter: abalone and pork ear tiradito, and I chose the Wagyu salpicon. both were excellent. Next comes the warm starter: she went with the octopus (as she always does when she sees it on the menu it being one of her favorite mariscos) and I decided to go with the Chile ancho stuff with squash blossoms and cheese. We both agreed she won this round! The next course is the main course: she opted for the beef cheek Barbacoa and I with the pork belly chicharron. We both agreed that we tied on this one because they were both delicious! Then comes the mole course! This is the interesting you get two more one darker and one more of a reddish brick color. And if I'm not mistaken we were told that the one mole had been going for almost 7 years and the reason for is because there was no meat in it. I can tell you that I was so tired at that point and after so many Great glasses of wine I was starting to relax to the point that we're almost didn't care what they said in front of me! Finally dessert came: and she selected the corn pudding with a Cajeta ice cream, I decided to go with the lemon Carlota (but only because they were out of the chocolate cake which I so badly wanted). We all have to make choices in life and sometimes our first choice is not there. I can say that my dessert was delicious and I was not upset at all, but I am a chocolate kind of a guy lol. They also brought a special dessert of tiramisu. Again both desserts were phenomenal; they were delicious. This is a perfect example of how wonderfully elevated Mexican cuisine can be. I challenge anyone reading this who feels that Mexican food is beans and rice and tortillas to make it a point to get here. It will change your mind on what Mexican food is and what Mexican astronomy can be.

And I'm quite surprised that Pujol earned 2 stars this year. I tried the tasting menu for dinner. For appetizers, I tried the steak tartare and octopus, both of which I enjoyed. The mains were lackluster, and the mole was disappointing as well. Luckily, the desserts saved this meal. The lemon carlota was absolutely delicious! Overall, the meal was alright but definitely not worth 3,795 MXN. I do have to give credit to the ambiance though, which Pujol definitely nailed.
