Let me tell you, EVERY TIME I go somewhere other than Hot Nails, my experience is less than stellar! They are always accommodating at Hot Nails and take their time. The woman who did my manicure was very rude and wanted me out of her chair as soon as possible, and looked very upset when I had to go back to get a nail fixed. I believe she was upset because I didn't get gel nails, but I am very sensitive to the gel nail process. I thought I'd give them a try since they are so close to my home. Well, I will not be back. The staff isn't very friendly but not rude. I requested a certain color for my nails. I ended up with white dipped nails instead of the natural look. Also, the mail isn't smooth; you can feel how bumpy they are. Again, they were not rude but not friendly either. Love, love, love this salon! Have been going for several months. Only once was there an issue with scheduling but they made it right! I always take my elderly mother with me. Tammy and Lisa engage her in conversation and make her feel very special. She loves to tease them and they tease her right back. She feels very comfortable and is always excited to go. After talking to many, many other customers between our visits, they always remember our previous conversations and pick up right where we left off. (We do not go regularly... it is always 2-3 months between visits.) What a way to make us feel valued! The quality of their work? Outstanding!!! I've never had a complaint. I had a hard time finding a place in Blue Springs that was consistently good, so I am thrilled that my mom lives near Hot Nails. Even if she didn't, it would be worth the drive! Such a terrible job on my nails. Filed them down way to narrow and when I complained about it was smarted off to that I should have said something when she filing. She was so aggressive and In such a rush even though there were only three customers including myself there. Then she trimmed the skin so far down on one nail it started bleeding. All because she was in such a rush. And my nails look awful. Much shorter than I wanted. Not at all the shape I wanted or even a uniformed shape all together. I've never had such an awful experience. And to top it off she acted like charging me $30 was cutting me a deal from the full set price even though that's what she told me it would be from the start. read more

After years of making this place my go to nail place, I have decided I am going to try somewhere else the next time. I went yesterday afternoon with my daughter and we both got manis and pedis. So this was an expensive trip to the nail salon. We went all out!!! First, the place is filthy. It needs to be deep cleaned! Behind the chairs it is dusty and gross. If this is how they keep the space we see, how well do they clean their tools? It makes me nervous and it is GROSS!!! Second, it was warm inside the shop. I almost walked out. They need to turn the air up. Next, the ladies working on my gel mani and straight pedicure talked in their language the whole time and rarely engaged me. And it didn't appear they were having a pleasant conversation. I was poked and prodded to move me in the direction they wanted, all while they just talked and talked to each other. My gel manicure is very nice, but my DELUXE pedicure was rushed and the end result is messy. The lady doing my pedicure seemed bored and just "going through the motions". Horrible amateur hour here!! I've given them my business for years and today an man I've never worked with did my nails. Several other employees came over to witness the crappy job he did and didn't stop him or help me. I didn't want to hurt his feelings because he was much older but this is so bad. I tried to call and speak with them about it but nobody would assist me. Then after the whole thing I paid my $50 and he asked me for a tip! Selected the "leave a tip" button on the machine and handed it to me!! This is so ridiculous I'll never come back and I hope others can see the type of work this salon try's to pass off as acceptable. I have hard clumps of gel gunk just dripping off my nails. read more

Work was average. But only 2 stars because you ask for a regular fill and they do a gel fill. They up charge you without permission. I don't like being manipulated! They chance that you won't make a scene. Their gel product was leaving black dots on my otherwise nice nail job. When I pointed out the fact that her gel polish was fouled up with something she kept telling me it was bleed from a previous paint I had on my nails. I HAVEN'T HAD NAIL POLISH ON MY FINGERS IN OVER 5 YEARS. I'm like um nooo that is junk in your product. Finally opting to just shut up get done, get out. I won't go back. This is my third bad experience at this location. I can get the same quality at wal mart. read more

I was disappointed in my gel manicure. Already chipped off my thumb after 6 days of wear. The technician also painted pretty far away from my cuticle, so it already looked grown out before I even left the salon. Girls that work there are sweet, but the quality of work needs improvement. I have visited this salon on several occasions and have never been very impressed with the end result. I think I will try somewhere new. read more

I absolutely LOVED my acrylics & pedi. This was the first time I got my acrylics done and I loved the thickness of the nail! I l have't found the same thickness yet. The service was awesome. The woman who did my nails was very professional and got the job done quickly. Lock did my toes and they lasted for a little over a month! I got french tips on both of my sets of nails, they were gorgeous :D The price was a little much but totally worth it! read more

I always come here for my shellac, and I only let Tammy do it. Not to say the others aren't any good, but she does it just how I like it, so I stick with her. The massage chairs at the pedicure stations are worth the $25 alone, never-mind the pedi too. I had Shayla do the dipping powder in french tips. She didn't remove the dipping powder from the last time she just filed them down some. She did the worst job I have ever had done on my nails. I have been here several times over the years for nails but never any waxing. Took my daughter to get her eyebrows waxed and they completely tore skin from her eyelids. She has had hers waxed several times at Diamond Nails in Lees Summit and this NEVER has Happened. Her first time getting it done here and skin is RIPPED from BOTH eyelids. When I called them they said she may just have sensitive skin..NO!!! they did apologize and said we could get a refund and some creme. I am sorry but there is really nothing they could have said or done to rectify this situation in my mind. It NEVER should have happened to begin with and they should not be able to practice this service here. Please do your research before trying something like this, so not worth $10. To make it worse my daughter left that day for a 2 week vacation wtih alot of pain. read more

This was my first experience with Hot Nails, I usually get my nails done at Gallery Nails in Raymore. Why I decided to try Hot Nails Im not really sure, was in a hurry, closer to home, cheaper? But I decided to try them. It seemed ok when I went in, but not the friendliest. Gallery Nails employees didn't speak the best English but at least they struck up a conversation with you. I was given one of the male employees, younger chap, he would not even talk or try, gave him the benefit that maybe English was either not there or not good. He actually was kind of rude, when he finished each hand would push it aside to indicate he was finished. Station he worked at did not seem very clean and I'm almost pretty sure tools he used were not cleaned from previous client. That made me uncomfortable seeings how it was the cuticle clippers because he pulled them from his drawer and not out of a sanitary cleaner jar or atleast placed in a holder that would at least looked like they had ben sanitized. Now to rate the actually job he did, he nicked my cuticle which ok sometimes that happens but made me uneasy just thinking that maybe the tool he used wasnt sanitized. I received a french tip gel. He did a fairly decent job except the depth of the french part ration to the nail was too thick or wide if you know what I mean. When he did the first finger which was my pinky and held it up to me which I figured ment is that ok cause he didn't talk it looked fine on my pinky but when he finished the rest of my nails the rest looked ridiculous. but what do you say to someone who seems to not speak English. Not trying to downgrade the business. The placed looked ok inside but if I would have read a review like the one I just wrote I would not have went there no matter how much cheaper it was. read more
