This nail salon is super cute. The inside is very calm and the staff are friendly. They even offered me a drink which I haven't had from a nail salon in a while. I appreciate that they give professional advice so that the clients nails can still be healthy instead of just giving you want you want just go get paid.... I highly appreciate this about them. I absolutely love Bryan, he always gets the shape and design exactly how I want, and they're very secure, my nails used to break or chip, but I haven't had any problems like that since I've been seeing him, very talented. He also gets them done in a timely manner, I highly recommend making an appointment, which can be made online very easily or you can call, walk ins are welcome but they do get busy. Staff is always very friendly and when I walk in I'm always greeted with a smile and a "Hello Alex!" (My name) I'm so happy I found this place, I've been going for a couple months and I plan on coming back for as long as they're open! read more

I chose this nail spa specifically because of the positive reviews and expected a professional experience. Unfortunately, that was not what I received. I came in for a manicure and asked for a specific color. The technician repeatedly pushed me to go darker, insisting it would look better. I trusted their recommendation even though I felt unsure. Once I got home and saw the color in natural light, it was much darker than what I had originally asked for and not at all what I wanted. I called the salon shortly after to politely ask if it would be possible to change the color. Instead of listening or trying to resolve the issue, the receptionist became defensive and outright called me a liar, claiming I never asked for the original color. I was shocked. That is an incredibly disrespectful way to speak to a paying customer. I fully acknowledge that I should have spoken up more before leaving. That part is on me. But there is absolutely no excuse for accusing a customer of lying rather than handling a concern professionally. Mistakes happen. Poor customer service is a choice. Being called a liar crossed a line and completely erased any trust I had in this business. I will not be returning, and I would caution others to be very clear and very firm if you choose to come here, because accountability does not seem to exist once you walk out the door. read more

Booked an appt for two pedicures. When we arrived they had set up two chairs and the one I was sitting in was broken. When I asked they just said it doesn't work. The nail tech cut my toe and it bleed profusely. She couldn't get it to stop and went and got nail glue to close it. Overall, just very disappointing. read more

Quality service for the price! We were greeted upon arrival and asked our preference in nail polish - gel or regular. I appreciated not being pressured to upgrade to gel after making the decision to use regular polish. The salon was clean and comfortable with a relaxing vibe - the way I like it! I informed the tech what type of pedi I wanted for myself and my daughter, again, no pressure for upgrades. I chose the $50 pedi and it was well worth the money. The techs engaged in little convo which kept things relaxing. Massage was great. Polish looked great at the end. I will return for another service at this salon even though there are others closer to me. My daughter also commented that her pedi was one of the best she has had and we've been to many salons in Leawood/OP/Olathe. I encourage you to check it out! read more

This place will over charge you for a rushed job. Why does every nail place take advantage of their customers? $76 for a gel French tip pedicure is crazy. Then they force at least a 15% tip. I paid almost $100 for the tech to have stressed energy, not take her time, and do a sloppy, rushed job. I do not recommend and I left feeling really taken advantage of. read more

Unfortunately i'm going to have to agree with the other people who had a terrible experience. I went to this place because of the other positive reviews. I just left three hours later one of my nails is very crooked and they look terrible. I'm going to have to go somewhere else and have them fixed. It was the older lady that the other terrible reviews are referring to. She told me that she could not control the fact that my nail was crooked. I've been getting my nails done for years, and this is the first time I've ever walked out of a place with a crooked nail. On top of that on the side, there's gaps that she had to patch because she missed them. It's very obvious they were patched. I never leave negative reviews, but it was really that bad on top of that. Everyone barely spoke English and I had three different people working on me that I was attempting to re-explain what I needed done of which they couldn't understand me. Since my first review five years ago I've continued to go back to Artisan Nails time and time again-always getting manicures (regular and gel) that last for a lengthy duration in the newest shades by OPI. The interior has changed recently with the salon showcasing more of their nail polishes and also expanding the number of manicure tables. Appointment via phone is still the best way to reserve services! Super happy with my gel French manicure with a hand painted design. Much love to Nikki and Kevin! I visited this nail salon today for the first time. I will NOT be back. Friendly people, horrible experience. I went in for a gel manicure w/fill and a pedicure. The polish job on my toes was horrific. It was very streaky and see-through. Ultimately, she said it was "pretty" and wanted me to agree when it was an obvious epic fail. After choosing a different color and sitting there for an extra 45 minutes, the final product was still shabby, but I was so tired. I wanted to leave at that point. But wait.... While getting a pedicure, another technician attended to my hands simultaneously. I didn't get a chance to relax. It felt chaotic. The technician doing my manicure was going to polish my nails without a fill! She said, "Oh, you wanted a fill?" It seems like the more experienced technician there took over and finished the fill, but I had to give back the original technician to finish the polish, which was a bad idea. She did not do a good job of polishing because there's polish on my cuticles. This horrible experience cost me $130.00. I don't mind paying this much for excellent service, but I'm sick of paying so much for bad service. read more

Artisan Nail Spa has changed owners, and it's nothing like it use to be! When I use to get my nails or pedicure done, it was such a relaxing place. Not many people at a time, you weren't sitting directly next to the next person, the music was relaxing and it was the best! The new owners have butted the tables right next to each other, you can almost touch each other. That's what really turned me off! I don't care to sit that close to somebody, especially in the fall/winter, when the germs are really high! I don't want to be so close to somebody when they might sneeze, cough, etc. The noise is annoying, the tables so close together, it's not a peaceful environment anymore. The last time I was there, the girl doing nails, was cleaning out her desk, while I was getting my acrylic pink and white. She was pushing in her drawers and it would shake both tables. She obviously didn't realize what she was doing, because it just kept happening. She was cleaning out her desk in such a fast pace, that it really annoyed me! I have found a much nicer place that is very private, only 2 of us in the room, at the time I was there, and the 2 tables were far apart. I felt much better, not being around so many germs, coming and going. I parked right in front of the door, and the room was right when you walk in. I never really got a chance to know the new owner or any of the workers, so I can't comment on their work. The previous owners always did my nails and pedicures! Arrived in KC in dire straits where nails were concerned. My hotel (in the Overland Park area) offered up one option that had horrible reviews. I got on Yelp and found my own salon. I'm sooooo glad I did. I made an appointment the night before and went in at 10 am the following morning. Lots of cool colors and a very friendly staff. Celine was my salon professional and she did a great job! She helped me pick colors and even suggested a little nail "diversity." I've been a loyal Artisan client since I moved to Overland Park several years ago and always found the service dependable, the atmosphere pleasant, and the prices so fair that I've always tipped very well. (Especially true when Nikki was there....assume she has sold the place as I've not seen her there in some time) Sadly, yesterday was my last time. I had scheduled a mani-pedi appointment when there last month, but when I arrived they clearly weren't expecting me and couldn't find my appointment (new system, they said). The technician with whom I had may appointment wasn't there, so after 1 15 minute wait they bounced me to another who gave me a good pedicure (I asked for basic with a scrub and was charged $63 for it....WHAT?). When it was time for my mani, I again waited before they bounced me to someone else to remove my dip polish while the tech I originally requested came in and started doing someone else's nails. The tech who was removing my dip with an e-file filed down so deep that "rings of fire" began to appear on 3 of my nails. I said stop, I was done....I just wanted to go home as I had been there for more than 2 hours already and my dip still wasn't fully removed. They put some clear on my nails, overcharged me for the pedicure, and didn't charge me for the nails. I was in such pain, I got out of there as fast as I could. 3 other nails began to show the rings as I drove home and today my nails are still painful to the touch. I have important client meetings this week and now have virtually no nails, they look TERRIBLE, they're thin and what little nail is left is breaking and THEY HURT. I really hate to have to write a bad review for a place I've depended upon for years and I have no ill will for the technicians but I don't want anyone else to go through this same experience. read more
