Only caught 1 small fish. Lake Catherine is about 15- 20 minutes to Hot Springs. We drove around section C looking for good spots and found several. We never went into section A or B. It was such a pleasant experience! Our spot (fill hook ups for only $34) was adjacent to the creek and under large trees. There are showers for paying guests. Plus, they need to have hosts on site. They posted a number on their whiteboard, but somehow it got smudged and the number was unreadable. I needed someone to help as a camper was in my site upon arrival. I waited three hours till the people returned to resolve the issue. A host could have been helpful as I needed a different site.

Noticed some rowdy dogs nearby and park ranger took care of it in a jiff. Looked like lots of regulars know the good cove swim holes, plenty of places to pull up a boat, kayak, or jet ski. Laundry, store, and restaurant I'm site, marina minutes down the road. Only negatives are some sites with no water hookups, so come with a full tank. No sewage in spaces, just a dump site. Road in is a bit rough--lots of almost switchback turns, several low lying areas that easily flood with rain. One extremely narrow bridge I wouldn't cross with a large camper rig (use alternate road).

They have now changed the bathroom hours to 9am-7pm, in addition to raising the rent by $30/month. As someone whose work schedule is 9-6 (and whose RV doesn't have a working shower), that makes taking showers difficult. Management is not open to help from long term tenants to maintain the restrooms in an attempt to keep them open 24hrs, as we offered help a week before the change happened. We will have to relocate asap because of this.
