As a result, they only had one tiny terrace that could fit a max of 25-30 people for the entire castle guests. This was a surprise "gift" discovered at check-in when we booked the room 4 MONTHS in advance. No communication whatsoever to guests of the hotel beforehand that probably would have chosen another hotel to avoid the drama and lack of services. The entire day was filled with miscommunication between oh no the terrace is closed, actually it is open, the bar is closed, no it's open, actually it's definitely closed... but you have the lobby, though. Guests were confused and waiting for menus for 30 minutes with no communication from anyone. Some kept asking for a table to eat their food. Strangers sat together in the same seating because there was no room anywhere... They had all their staff focus on the wedding and event and only had one waitress on the terrace for everyone else. So basically, paying hotel guests were left wandering, confused, stuck, and overall with subpar service for a 5-star hotel. When they tried to "offer" something for the inconvenience, there was lots of miscommunication as well between spas, massages, and buffet tickets, but oh yes, we won't charge you NOW, but definitely later. So I guess they think it's ok for us to pay 100 euros per person for a BBQ buffet event as a "sorry for the inconvenience"... We just wanted a normal castle restaurant. It's not a matter of price but a matter of principle. Overall, we've been to many 5 star hotels, and this was definitely the worst experience we've had. You will be paying almost $400 a night for NO. No restaurant, no bar, no full hotel access, no communication, no pretzel at 7:15 pm, no coffee in the room, no library, and no table for eating on the tiny terrace. They kept proposing for us to drive outside the castle even though we booked specifically to be IN the castle. If you are going to prioritize a wedding AND an event because it's more money and close everything, then do us all a favor and mark all the rooms as booked so you don't waste our time. Don't try to be greedy and want everything but offer nothing.

I love all the amenities of the hotel. The free mini bar includes water, juice and beer. The free WiFi internet was the most stable and fastest out of our entire trip in Germany. Two flat screen TVs with two different controls and headset for two people or you can watch TV on one while using the other to go online. In addition, the $25 euro breakfast buffet is also included in our package. It has lot of selections on the food and drinks. The breakfast is also needed because there are no other good places for breakfast nearby.

You'll have to walk past some lower end shops, but that's usual for areas near the main station. There is a good-sized grocery right next door to the hotel. The hotel can be easy to miss if you're not careful since it's mid block and doesn't exactly line up with where Google says it is. The lobby is small but nicely decorated with a small front desk. It was busy when we walked in and took a little while to get our room. Check in is at 3pm. Our room was on the top floor and was spacious and modern. Other rooms on this floor had balconies, but ours had an interior courtyard view. Well lit and cleanly decorated. The bathroom is strange, with a full glass wall around the toilet, but a half wall in the shower. Not sure about that since you'll flood the bathroom every time you shower. No way around it. The towel warmer came in handy. The toilet seats have hidden bidets built in, courtesy of a few buttons on the side. Give it a try, the water is warm. The mattress was firm, firmer than I would have liked and the sheet wasn't fitted and came untucked near the head. The bed was two twins stuck together to make one large bed, so the seam in the middle was palpable. There is a gym on the second floor that offers a few machines. You'll need your room keys to get to the elevator and up to your floor, so it feels secure enough. Bonus: there's a street market on Thursday mornings just outside the hotel.

Yes, we were definitely early since check-in is at 1500. We were really jet lagged and needed some rest. The reception was very slow, painfully slow. When we asked if we could check in early, we were told we would be charged. Since we were dragging, we agreed. So, when we got to our roo, at 1000, we were charged 150 euro for the 5 hours extra. Are you fricken kidding me?? Talk about taking advantage of travelers! The room resembled a Holiday Inn. Not that there is anything wrong with a Holiday Inn, but when we are staying in a "luxury" hotel, I would expect more. The bathroom was super tiny, with the toilet, sink and tub crowded into one sad room. As someone else had mentioned, the ceiling is quite low. A tall man would have to duck. Seemed odd since Germans are known for their height. The bed was ok, the pillows were flat and lifeless. The carpet was old, looked like from the 1970s. The room was hot, even with the air conditioner turned full blast. And yes, it was cold outside! We finally opened the window. Unfortunately, even on the 18th floor, we could hear the sirens constantly blowing from police and ambulances. Keep this in mind if you are wanting a relaxing stay. The positives: the view of the river Main was beautiful. It was located on the trail and a quick walk to the markets. The room was clean and housekeeping did a great job- kudos to them. And the concierge was friendly and helpful.

Sitting on the bed now and writing this review, I just keep sinking and sinking, crappy mattress. No in room AC (air conditioner). Only an air blower but no proper air conditioner. There is no high speed internet- as a guest you have the option for free internet at 5mps or high speed that you have to pay extra for. The room was so bad I went to reception and paid more to change my room. This room is no better. Please renovate. Please make improvements and modernize. Please have correct and accurate room descriptions. It is a real pity that with such a beautiful view, this hotel could have had so much potential. No go - NEVER staying here again!

We chose the top floor which was all in gold. The room was very nice and the bed super comfy. We appreciated all the small extras they offer: like you can rent a bike or mini for a few hours for free, there was a Freitag bag in our room for our use while we stayed there. The staff was very friendly. At night we also checked our oost bar which we really enjoyed. Good drinks, as well as a great and inventive bar keeper.

It's one of the design hotels, and each room is different. The lobby was very fun with white penguin lamps with pink lampshades and other kitschy touches. Our room was all pink with portraits of dogs and dog pillows and was equally kitschy and fun. The bad thing was that you're supposed to declare whether you would like smoking or non-smoking room upon checking. We arrived around 11 or 12, but weren't able to do it early check in. They put us on the books and held our luggage, which we were grateful for, but we didn't know we needed to declare and they neglected to ask. As a result, when we returned from a long day of work followed by dinner, all of the rooms had been booked except for smoking rooms. We spent the night in our pink, dog-themed room smothered by smoke. We opened the window for the 3-4 hours before we went to sleep, but it made very little impact. It was, unfortunately, an unpleasant night. I don't understand why anyone would allow smoking in a hotel room because it embeds in everything: the walls, pillows, rugs, drapes, mattresses-- everything. Other than that, it was a very cute hotel and we would stay again as long as we could obtain a non-smoking room. Also they are famous for their Rolling Stones mouse urinals. So do try to check those out in the lobby if you have a moment.
