At 4:30am the heavy equipment dealership next door opens their metal gate and starts taking in projects/deliveries. If the air conditioning worked properly in the room I wouldn't have cracked the window... The staff was super nice and did their best to help with what they had... Not a lot at their disposal though. We brought our 9 month old son and they went out of their way to get us a "baby bed," which was in actuality a laundry bin with a mattress in it. All well enough except the small room could not fit this... If the baby bed is in the room and the door is open you have to climb over the bed to get to the other side because Ibus is just about the most European, European hotel... Again doing the best with what they had... My only issue here was that we specifically asked "is there enough room for the baby bed?" We were assured yes, but this was not the case. Beyond this the people could not have been nicer. At breakfast they always did their best to accommodate our baby and us.. The front desk people always tried to put us in the right direction and give us instructions on where to go even though they're was no concierge. House cleaning was awesome as well. There were a couple of odd things that maybe corporate policies... I was on impressed by them. For example we ask where to go to dinner and they basically said the only good restaurant was the hotel restaurant.. Come on. In addition I came down to the lobby with a glass of wine and my phone to catch up on emails in was asked to leave because it was a working restaurant in the entire lobby was a place that you couldn't bring your own drinks to. The kid running the bar at 1 a.m. is not too blame but that is something that is totally ridiculous. I recently joined their rewards Club I don't anticipate becoming a top member by any means. Read into that as you will.

The staff recognize me and call me by name; even though I'm only here about four or five times a year. It's these little touches that make it a hotel worth keeping. It is located in a growing business campus, that has amenities like food in the grocery store that are quite accessible during the week. Perhaps the only drawback is that on Sundays it is pretty dead around here. That's fine if you want peace and quiet and just want to get work done but but means you generally have to travel by U-Bahn or taxi to leave the area. This is not a super drawback because there's a U-Bahn/taxi station right next to the hotel. They offer free Wi-Fi in the hotel which is suitable for most purposes except extremely large downloads. For that you can purchase a premium service at six euros per day. Or just wait till you go to the office as I do. As for the restaurant on site it offers a surprisingly large array of menu items. The standard menu is also complemented with the daily specials pages. Perhaps not the cheapest restaurant around but all considered, if you have to travel and go somewhere else it works out to be a good value. So all in all I give this hotel four out of five stars. Please understand that in North America I am a devoted Marriott Hotel user but in Europe I have used many Ibis hotels in this ranks among the best of them for being clean convenient and value priced. Lastly there is an Ibis budget hotel next-door I've never stayed there but for the few extra euros I don't see why I would. The convenience of having the full-time hotel staff on the site is worth far more than a few euros; at least to me.

Once we arrived, it was a long line (which I think is unusual as a flight was cancelled and all these people were put up by the airline at this hotel). Check-in went very quickly when I did finally get to check in. This was a one night stay close to the Munich airport before heading out the next morning to London. The room was quite large but older. The lighting in the room made it feel kind of lonely and dark. I turned on every light just to make it better. Either I couldn't figure out how to make the shower work, or the shower didn't work so I just ended up taking a bath. Have done that in years, but it wasn't so bad. I slept fine. Quiet for being close to a major airport. The breakfast at this hotel was the best attribute to my stay. Large dining room and a great buffet of many choices. There were attendants constantly wiping tables and setting out new food. Very efficient and clean. I enjoyed everything I ate and even sneaked a few Nutella packets to snack on at the airport.

Plus it's really really close to the airport. So if you're only in town for Oktoberfest and then leaving then I suggest staying outside the city limits of Munich. The pros: -It was really cheap to stay here compared to any hotel or Airbnb in Munich -It is a set price for your stay so no hidden fees -The staff speak English -The accommodations were quite nice and reasonable for our party of two -The have beer in the vending machines -They make pizzas on-site -The Wi-Fi was reasonably fast -The water stayed hot for a long period of time -The beds were reasonably comfy and the room was super clean -It's only about an hour to Munich by train -It's only about a 20-30 € taxi ride from Munich (as of Sept 2015) -check in/out was easy -they have maps and things on getting around Hallbergmoos and which transportation goes where The cons: -This place really is out in the middle of nowhere -It's kind of creepy finding this place at night as you have to walk through fields that aren't well lit or on highways that also aren't lit -There are not a lot of places to eat and the grocery stores are about 10-15 mins from the hotel -The breakfast is an extra 10 € per person and it's definitely not worth the money as it's just dry cereal, fruit, coffee, juice and breads. I think they had hard-boiled eggs, but I forget. -lots of good stuff including beer and adult beverages in the vending machine -You have to catch a bus from the train station like 15 stops to get to the right stop -Not easy to find using Google Maps directions Overall I thought this place was awesome for only 59.00 € + the breakfast. Some people may not like the inconvenience of not being right in the heart of the big city and will pay more for convenience. The trains are hyper fast so I really didn't mind. We got a tourist 3 day train pass from the train station so all the public transportation is basically included for about 20 €. It was perfect during our stay for Oktoberfest and plus since it's one of the last stops on the train most of the drunk people had already gotten off and we were able to rest and relax in the B&B.

This will cost €15 for a 10 minute cab (there is no hotel shuttle ) and you will be stuck in the middle of nowhere, only to discover that there is no room service and there is no restaurant except for the €40 buffet they offer for dinner. You're better off eating at the airport. My very grumpy cab driver was upset that I wanted to pay with a credit card, so I was dumb enough to give him a tip to make up for the inconvenience, making that an €18 waste. The only nice thing about this hotel was the young woman at the check-in counter, who told me that the price of the buffet is really ridiculous and she apologized for it. She suggested I download a local app called Lieferando, which is similar to Uber eats, and get some food delivered. I decided to skip dinner instead Then you get to your room, down a dark corridor, with no ceiling and a bunch of exposed ductwork and pipes and other things because the whole thing is under construction. How ironic that I could see all that ductwork, because the air conditioning doesn't work and the room is a little hotbox. I couldn't figure out why the air conditioning was set to such a ridiculously low temperature, 50°F until I realized that the last person here must've sweat through the experience as well. You think it would be easy enough to just open the window and solve the problem, except that the window has a sticker on it that says do not open, and it doesn't open anyway. I hope the construction project next-door is not supposed to be another one of these hotels, but that's what it looks like. And that's about all I can see, a giant construction project right outside my window, from the first floor, also overlooking the parking lot. To call this entire experience a disappointment would be an understatement . I'm trying to put it out of my mind and pretend it never happened, because it's an awful ending of an otherwise great trip. My layover between planes was from 18:30 on Monday until 14:30 on Tuesday. I thought I should stay close to the airport, but in hindsight, I either should have stayed right at the airport, at the Hilton, or stayed in Munich and taken the train to get there. All the other options would have been more pleasant and less expensive. I will never stay in this hotel, or this chain again. Spare yourself the unpleasant experience. For €191, I expected more.

The bus stop is right outside the hotel so this was an excellent choice on our recent overnight layover in Munich. The hotel has a decent sized parking lot for people who are driving to the location. The lobby is well decorated and they have a restaurant in the lobby. We were checked in promptly on arrival and were given a room on the 2nd floor. The elevators are a bit small but we didn't have any luggage so that didn't really affect us. The rooms were very clean and the cozy. Even though we were right next to the airport but we were able to sleep comfortably through the night without hearing jets taking off and landing which usually is an issue for airport hotels. 4 star decent hotel with excellent pricing if you book through Expedia which I did.

The room was very cold, because the window was open. I closed the window, before we left to catch a train to Munich. When we got back, I realized why they had the window open.....because of a funny smell in the room. After a few minutes in the room, we didn't notice it anymore. When I went to sleep that night, I noticed my pillow smelled like a skunk. Not all of it, but certain areas of the pillow. Bottled water, and beer were in the room, along with 2 apples. Nice shower with plenty of pressure. Only English channels were BBC and CNN. Breakfast was very good with sausages and scrambled eggs with cheese. Vending machine near elevator had €1.50 bottle cokes. Their restaurant is very good.
