They cater to cyclists and the location is tough to beat. This family run business offered up one of the best stays I've had in recent memory. If I could give them 6 stars I would!

We…read morebooked the Hotel Genzianella plenty in advance based on recommendations and were not disappointed at all! We arrived very late (2:30am) and the staff was accommodating our arrival ensuring that our keys and such were available for us. The rooms were great but the grounds, breakfast, staff, and catering to cyclists was the best. As we interacted with the staff we suspected they were family as they all clearly looked like sisters...and we were right. Family owned for quite some time and the care and attention to detail shows. The attitude of friendliness to us at every moment was very nice. The front grounds were amazingly kept and welcoming to just sit and enjoy the sun and conversation. For us it presented a great place for some après refreshments as we eased our sore legs. The hotel is perfectly located for cyclists. While we didn't partake in the promoted Stelvio Experience (we had arranged outer own courses for the 3 days) it did look like quite a good organization if you hadn't arranged a plan in advance. The hotel and Bormio are perfectly located for riding. We didn't use our car at all and were able to ride Stelvio, Gavia, Mortirolo and other areas with ease. The hotel itself caters to cyclists with an amazing secure bike room and all the tools you could need to give your ride a tune each day and wash afterwards. Really fantastic. And the laundry service for your cycling kit also was very welcome. The front desk also carries some gels and electrolytes for purchase if you need some. While we didn't partake in the restaurant for dinner, the breakfast was amazing. An array of very tasty options to please everyone. Coffee, latte, espresso machine accommodates those in your party who drink coffee. And if you don't there are plenty of other fresh fruit juices to enjoy. Fantastic breakfast to start the day. Totally would book here again if coming back (which I hear the skiing is amazing as well). Many thanks to the Andreola family and staff for their hospitality!! Grazie mille!

We chose this hotel based on recommendations from family who have started there nearly annually…read more I'm happy we booked here. The hotel is just across the bridge from the "centro storico" so we had a short walk every evening for dinners out which was totally fine because Bormio is a lovely town to walk through. The hotel has been undergoing renovations and we booked a new suite which was extremely spacious and very well stocked with everything from water to bathroom essentials, robes, and fitness equipment (bench, free weights, yoga mats, balance ball). Funivia is a sport hotel so it's perfect for cyclists and skiers. They even have a bike garage for cyclists. They also offer fitness classes outside in the summer/early fall. There's a pool, sauna, etc. Everyone was super gracious and beyond accommodating for our three year old daughter. They set up a crib and a little tub, for her too! However, this they are transitioning out of being a family oriented hotel and will be adult only soon.

We (2 adults + 2 kids) stayed here for two nights in July 2018 and enjoyed every second. The breakfast is nice with a good variety of bread, cereals, fruits and cakes. We had a superior room with a balcony towards the mountains and although the room was not huge, it was very adequate and suited our needs. The pool is nice and our kids loved it. It is indoor, but the doors can be opened to the outside, which is great, because you can sit outside and be close to your kids in the pool. They also have a kids room in the basement with toys. There is also a small spa with sauna and cold shower, but we did not try that. It is possible to book the rooms with just breakfast, but it is also possible to include dinner. There is also a very nice terrasse with sun beds and sofas and the atmosphere is so nice and relaxing. The employees here are very friendly and helpful. I imagine that this is also a wonderful hotel in the skiing season, since it also only takes about five minutes to walk to the gondola to the top of the mountain (this can also be recommended as a half-day trip)

I believe most rooms have a knockout view with french doors to let in the clean fresh air and the sound of the rushing stream outside. And the patio has gorgeous panoramic views. The rooms are clean, quiet, and spacious, though it was a but tight between the desk and the bed. There were plenty of modern wood storage drawers and cabinets. A coffee and tea station and minibar with waters, sodas, and juice though we didn't use them. It did not appear there was a charge. The bartenders are friendly and they make inspired cocktails. I tried the Moscow mule and instead of ginger beer, he diced fresh ginger into it. Delicious! There's a beautiful breakfast buffet with a choice of more than half a dozen honeys. Wines and bubblies are well stocked. Only draft blonde and amber beers. A luxurious pool that I did not get to try, and lovely grounds surrounding the hotel. They catered to families too with a playground and kids program during high seasons. There was a small hike from the train station but i believe you coukd use their transport van. Great area fir skiers or hikers. Loved it.

Yelp Review 2026 #103:…read more I had the pleasure of staying at Hotel Waldhaus am See on St. Moritz. It's across the train station which is about 8-10 minutes walk uphill. Don't use Google Maps because it'll make you go around the station, through a tunnel, cross streets that will take you farther from where you need to go be. It made us walk for 30 minutes! Good thing we had our luggage sent to our next destination and all we had were backpacks. The location is spectacular. Aside from being close to the train station, it's on a hill next to the lake with breathtaking views of mountains in the backdrop. I enjoyed soaking in the views in the morning before going on an adventure and at night when I'm ready to rest. Next to the lobby is a restaurant with the same views. Our stay included breakfast. We didn't get to eat here since our days were packed. But the nicest touch was they packed us breakfast with iced tea, bottled water, chocolate wafer, a big and thick sandwich, hardboiled eggs and fresh fruits. The room was spacious and clean. Slippers provided. The bed was comfy. I had restful sleep at night. It was quiet my whole stay.
