We had a lovely stay at this hotel in Amsterdam for 5 nights! It is situated in a great location that is right next to Dam Square and a short 10 minute walk from Amsterdam Centraal station from which we took a couple day trips. The museum district is a 25 minute walk away, and the Jordaan neighborhood is also a short 10 minute walk away. The location really couldn't have been better! The receptionists were super helpful and friendly. My mom and I got a standard room with two twin beds, which was on the sixth floor (they have elevators). Our room was pretty small, but everything was clean and we were happy with our stay. We also had a nice balcony with a beautiful view. It could get a little loud in the evening though. There is also a restaurant attached to the hotel, and everyone who stays at the hotel gets a complimentary croissant and coffee or tea each morning. The croissants were delicious! They also have other great breakfast options and they serve dinner as well. Overall we were very pleased with our stay and would definitely be willing to stay here again!

I LOVE DIE PORT VAN CLEVE!! This is my absolute favorite hotel to stay in when I go to The Netherlands. Great price, premium location, and outstanding staff. I have stayed at this hotel more times than I can count over the course of probably 6yrs. This hotel has very reasonable prices and is unbeatable given it's location. It is located behind the Royal Palace, which you can see from the restaurant window and some of the hotel room windows as well. Right outside the front door is a tram station that can take you wherever you need to go. Walk 2 minutes forward and you are in Dam Square. If you walk 2 minutes right from the entrance, you will be at Albert Heijn. As for the hotel itself, I love the rooms as they provide everything a man may need. It has a pretty modern feel to it and I've never had problems while staying here. There is Wi-fi available, as well as a computer to use downstairs and a very quiet and relaxing seating area. The restaurant I've only been to for breakfast which is a traditional dutch spread with breads, meats, cheeses, pastries, etc. Don't waste your time taking a cab or tram from the train station (unless you have heart conditions). I've walked to this place from the train station with 2 rollers and a duffle bag.

The hotel was wonderful. The front desk staff was extremely professional. They even provided complementary handwarmers and offered the use of an umbrella. Our hotel room itself was remarkable. We stayed in a business suite with a large amount of room and an incredible view. The downstairs pub was great with authentic Dutch artwork. Hugo, the barkeep, was very personable and easy to converse with. He was fun, full of knowledge, and provided a great experience. The only complaint I have was the bar/restaurant staff manager who was Extremely inconsiderate and RUDE. Her attitude deterred us from re-visiting or ordering food from there. It was a shame because the food has great reviews.

The hotel is very family-friendly, which made traveling with kids easy and stress-free. One of the biggest perks was the M Club Lounge, which offers daily breakfast and a comfortable space to recharge between sightseeing. Service was excellent from the start--we arrived early after an overnight flight and were pleasantly surprised to be checked in early, which made a huge difference after traveling. Clean rooms, great amenities, and an unbeatable location. Would absolutely stay here again, especially for a family trip or a holiday visit to Amsterdam.

However, during our stay, a guest in another room opened their door because they could hear people waiting on the elevator. Service: + Everyone is well-trained. Anytime a minor hiccup arose (room was not serviced one day), it was quickly addressed. Elite recognition: + No major upgrades available (NUA denied). Fully sold out hotel during our stay. + M Club Lounge was very nice. Had some of the longest breakfast hours I have seen (6-11am), but was essentially the same thing each morning. It got busy during evening hours (5:30-7:30pm), with some minor variation in food. Heineken (and wines) available during evening canapes. + When room was serviced, given a Tony's Chocolonely bar and stroopwafels in a nice tin. Location: + 25 minute walk to Centraal. Along multiple tram lines.

Everyone I interacted with there was professional, helpful, and friendly. Unfortunately, the good service at the front desk didn't extend to the rest of the hotel. The bar and Lotti's restaurant were both consistently understaffed, and the service was extremely slow. Lotti's also seemed to be out of a lot of the main dishes, even though the menu is already pretty limited. As for the rooms, they were okay, but felt a little worn and could really use some updating. Nothing terrible, but for what the hotel charges, I think you should be able to expect a bit more comfort and quality. After checking out the W Hotel nearby, which was much nicer for a similar price, I couldn't help but feel disappointed. For nearly $4500 after taxes for three nights in two rooms at the Hoxton, I honestly felt a bit cheated. Again, the front desk team deserves credit, but overall, I think the Hoxton needs to step up its game to justify these rates.

It hadn't changed since Mata Hari (First World War female spy) had stayed there. As we were visiting Amsterdam again I decided, on this trip, to spoil us a little. On booking I was a little concerned that the Hard Rock organisation had taken this hotel over. So with trepidation I took the chance. OK, remember, we are oldies so can be hard to please some tell us. On arrival, the outside hadn't changed other than the bar now stretched out a little and there was service from the restaurant outside. Reception was so swift by a fantastic bubbly young lady who sorted out a room although we were three hours before the normal signing in. I wish I could remember her name. Walking to our room I noticed the architecture hadn't changed but the decoration was wonderful with so much rock music memorabilia. We LOVED it. The room, overlooking the canal, was a lot smaller than years ago but, shrug, space has to be filled. The room was more than adequate with a wonderful bathroom with walk-in shower. Breakfast was in the dining hall which was a high-light years ago. I was so pleased to see that none of the wonderful art deco had been lost. The President Hotel in Prague had ripped it all out there, sob. Here, there was modernisation, but the windows, walls and lights remained. Obviously the designer had looked and thought 'wow, we can't get rid of this'. Good on him/her. A fantastic stay and on our next visit we know where to stay. Really wish I could remember that young ladies name because she made that day for us. Hi

As soon as my cab stopped in front, a man immediately came down the stairs to help me with my bag and escort me to the check in area. They asked if I wanted anything to drink and I said of course champagne! They gave me two! I checked in with Lisa who was amazing! She had me pick out a scent for my room. What? I didn't know that existed! Super fun! My room wasn't ready because I had booked late even though it was 3pm but I didn't mind waiting, especially when they gave me that 2nd glass of champagne. When I got my room, Lisa and Fae escorted me to the room to make sure I liked it and it was beautiful. I loved how the light came into the bathroom. On that note the bathtub was so nice I almost fell asleep in it! You receive welcome chocolates in the shape of Amsterdam shoes which were so cute and delicious! I ordered room service as the bar only served snacks and did not want to go to the restaurant by myself as it was really open. I got the Waldorf Astoria Burger which was amazing and so good! I'd go back to this hotel just for that burger itself. The next day I also had the breakfast and was able to get the whole tray of assortments and all the juices and coffee I wanted PLUS another dish! All complimentary with my Hilton Diamond status. I ordered the French toast and everything was delicious! Obviously I couldn't eat it all but was able to take some left to the room for later. I also had a spa appointment while here. Massage was great and the masseuse mentioned to see a physical therapist to help my lower back pain that I was complaining about as she said it was coming from my glutes, legs, knees. I've seen a couple of masseuses in the last two years in the states and one in Canada and NONE had ever even mentioned that that could help. I love this! Very professional staff. The spa also very serene with sauna, jacuzzi, and pool. They have a door to the garden which I'm assuming is beautiful in summer but I was here in February so it was freezing! When I checked out it was with Lisa again and she was great as usual and the guys helped me with my bags again when my uber came. They let me sit in the other room and said they'd let me know when it was here. Very nice. I did not want to leave. Haha!
