Tram station is about 5 mins walk and is convenient for sightseeing activities.. we stayed for 4 days and mostly returned to the hotel by walk from the train station very late but felt safe.. museums are within 10 to 15 mins walk or couple of stops on the Tram.. We visited Amsterdam in April for Tulips season and weather was still a little chilly so we haven't thought about AC but other reviews mentioned lack of AC which is something you should consider during summer stays. Helpful, excellent service at this hotel. We were able to leave our luggage at the facility both prior to our check in and after our check out. Overall it is a fair no-frills hotel mainly based on the price and location. Btw no breakfast at the hotel but a few mins walk you can find some good cafes.

The building its self is charming and unique. The cons, this place needs some updates mostly paint and reconfiguring the spaces to make more sense and use of the areas. Also more outlets and lamps with usb chargers by the beds would be great with a mini fridge to keep waters and food cool. They need to lose the bulky outdated furniture and do some cleaning detail work and this place could easily be a 4 star place.

It's in a fantastic location -- right next to a gorgeous park and literally steps away from the Escher Museum. It's also just a short walk to the Mauritshuis (hello, Girl with a Pearl Earring ) and surrounded by lots of things to do, see, and eat. The hotel itself is beautiful -- elegant lobby, rich-looking dining hall, and we stayed in a junior suite that was spacious, comfortable, and full of thoughtful touches like tons of drawers and cabinet space. Service across the board was excellent -- from the concierge to the doorman to housekeeping, everyone was friendly and professional. Now, about the restaurant... that's where things got a little bumpy. There was one incident early on that I reported to the front desk, and to their credit, they were super apologetic -- even saying, "this isn't the first time this happened and we'll talk to the manager." (Okay... not sure if that was meant to make me feel better, but I appreciated the honesty?) Anyway, after that, they went above and beyond -- our breakfast table was magically reserved for us every morning, and the person who had slipped up before turned into the nicest person ever. I booked four nights through my Amex Platinum and got all the perks that come with it -- totally worth it. The stay overall was wonderful, but again, the restaurant really needs some tightening up. One dinner night, we waited over an hour for our food which's slow even by European standards, and they forgot our fries. When they realized it, they offered to bring us two orders to make up for it -- sweet gesture, but we declined because... well, we love fries, just not that much . They brought out mayo, ketchup, and truffle mayo (yum!) -- but then it got a bit awkward because I overheard an American gentleman behind me earlier asking for ketchup, and the waitress told him they didn't have any. My husband whispered, "He's looking at your ketchup." I wanted to offer him some, but by the time my fries arrived, his were long gone. Oops. Food-wise, everything else was really good -- especially the sea bass, perfectly cooked with crispy skin just the way it should be. All in all, despite a few restaurant quirks, I'd definitely stay here again next time I'm in The Hague. The service, comfort, and location more than make up for it -- just maybe skip dinner downstairs and explore the city's food scene instead!

Love the farmhouse table bell desk, stairway bannisters, and lucite cafe furniture. The hotel's subtle exterior and interior footprint lend themselves to a pleasant feeling of secrecy - like you could live on this quiet block of embassy row for 20 years and nobody in your former life would know where to find you. Beds are puffy comfort clouds and showers are marbled and powerful. Best quality hair dryers too. Ideal location close to Den Haag Centraal, government & centrum shopping, and Delft or Scheveningen by light rail. There are a few things that are remarkable about this place. First of all, the rooms are spacious and the size and decoration of the rest of the hotel are nice. Modern but warm. The clientele are a mix of business and tourists, Dutch, German or Scandinavian. Nice, friendly, quiet and polite crowd. Breakfast is fresh, Dutch, compact but good quality. There is no cook for egg dishes, also no lunch or dinner. The Bankastraat has enough restaurants and breakfast/lunch places to serve your needs. Great restaurants for the evening as well. I particulary like Brasserie Archipel (French) and Depot Podjok (Indonesian), both within 1-2 minutes walking around the corner. A fish restaurant, grill restaurant, supermarket, drycleaner, postoffice and paperstore are close by as well. If I would have to pick one unique selling point of this hotel besides location etc, it would be the great staff. The owner is managing this place REALLY well by herself, and the staff members (mostly female students) are very charming, helpful and polite. Here are a coiple of things the hotel could offer in the future. Again - there is nothing wrong with the current place, but expanding services means more revenue, right? And I would be happy to spend. There is no lunch or snack service but that could be an area of expansion. No same-day laundry/drycleaner service is offered. I would suggest to invest in a washing machine or cut a deal with a local drycleaner. I personally would use this service for sure. An in-room dining service could be organized with the Brasserie across the road, they serve great food. We are definitely coming back here when visiting home!

Mauro Mansion is a small oasis in De Wallen. Even though the stairs are slightly steep they are easily managed. Our room 32 was very comfortable and quiet at night.
