Dinner was great. Fixed price menu for guests. First plate, second plate, water, coffee and homemade dessert for 18€. What a great value. I had the risotto, and the beef, both were great! Definitely would return. read more

The weather was cooler than normal in mid May during our stay so we didn't use the outdoor pool. We did, however, take advantage of the bicycles that are free to use (get the key at the front desk to unlock and lock the bicycle) and rode along the lake in each direction. Lake Como is so beautiful, the water so clean and clear. Bicycles are typically available to use for an hour at a time but the owner made an exception for us since there were plenty of bicycles and not many riders so we rode for almost two hours. It was fun and no hills along the river. Breakfast was the best. Lots of food. Guests hard boil their own eggs (just don't forget to take them out of the water after about ten minutes). Our room was very comfortable and quiet, and met all our expectations. No hotel restaurant for lunch or dinner, however, the owner will provide directions to a nearby restaurant he recommends: Agriturismo Ca' del Lago. It's walkable in 10 to 15 minutes. The food and service are not 4 or 5-star but certainly acceptable. I recommend giving it a try. Gravedona is on the northern part of Lake Como. From the train station in Como, the drive along the lake to get to Gravedona is well worth it. The hotel is not visible from the main road that goes through Gravedona. We used my iPhone GPS to get us there without issue but be attentive once you get to Gravedona because the 90 degree right turn off the main road is a narrow one-way road and it's easy to miss. I recommend staying at Hotel Tullio.

I was in Bellagio for Asif A.'s wedding, and the day before the wedding, Eric R. and others were canyoneering and rappelling. Asif A. told me this is his favorite restaurant in Bellagio, so I joined him for lunch with four others. We sat on the patio and my seat was right next to the water. The server was very patient and friendly. We ordered a half liter of white wine and appetizers of caprese and bresaola. The bresaola also came with pork (oops...) but I focused on the unbelievable mozarella in the caprese salad. I ordered the gnocchi with flame roasted octopus and baby olives. It was pure heaven - the gnocchi tasted like pillows of angels or something. I now know why gnocchi is so hot on Top Chef because it tastes nothing like the packaged stuff I am used to in the U.S. The place is known for lake fish, so Asif A. ordered perch with curry and rice, and I tasted it - wow! David W. shared with me smoked trout from his salad, which was similar to nova. David S. ate some of mine but did not share his duck - I did take a picture of his dish though, as it looked delicious! Robin B. had the sea bass and it definitely looked good (special of the day). The whole menu sounded good and I would definitely have returned if I stayed longer. We had leftover bread at the end of the meal so the server told me to feed it to the birds in the lake. I tossed bread for the ducks and swans, a fun way to end the meal. The setting was gorgeous and I am so glad I was able to discover this hidden gem.

We came for lunch and sat by the water, and while we were disappointed that they didn't have pizza for lunch, we ended up with some excellent pastas -- a basically perfect edition of linguine with clams, and a paccheri with fish sauce and pistachios that was just excellent. Their prosciutto with melon was also amazing, and we really liked the bruschetta as well. Our three-year-old also loved their penne with tomato sauce. Definitely would love to come back here (especially for dinner to try the pizza) on our next trip.

The interior bar area was just as nice, and while I can't personally speak to any of the accommodations I would highly recommend this location as a place to stay. Also you can hike to Castello di Vezio to get beautiful view of the village but be aware it's very steep. It takes around 40 minutes.
