The PERFECT wedding day & an amazing hotel stay!
I may be biased with this review, that's okay though, because we literally had the PERFECT wedding reception at Hotel Villa Cipressi. PERFECT. The stay was also really nice, as well!
Wedding Reception:
I worked with a coordinator (Sabina Domenici from ForeverAmore Weddings - she's AMAZING!!!) to coordinate all the details for my big day. We got married at San Giorgio church and had the reception at Cipressi. Whenever I wanted to reach out to Cipressi myself, the manager Davide, was always so gracious and accommodating.
Because my husband and I live in Seattle, WA, we couldn't make it out to Cipressi before the wedding, so our coordinator worked with the manager and he gave us a tasting of our selected dinner menu the day before. The weather had cleared up, so we got to enjoy the wonderful food outside in their gardens.
We were hoping to have an outdoor reception under the pergola in their gardens, but this Spring was "the coldest Spring in a century" in Italy, so we had to change our reception to indoors the day before. This didn't seem to be an issue, at least not that I was made aware. The indoor room is waaay more beautiful in person than in pictures. And it worked out really well because we offered an apertif hour (like a cocktail hour) before dinner and after the ceremony. The buffet selection was presented in the room right outside the dinner room, but is open to the balcony. So when the sun came out, everyone got to enjoy the gardens, some DELICIOUS appetizers, and drinks on the balconies and in the gardens. It was perfect. During the cocktail hour, we were allowed to have a guitarist/vocalist perform, so it gave people the chance to dance a little bit before dinner. We also had our first dances right after the appetizers were finished being served. It worked out really well!
Dinner was served in the dinner 'hall' (not sure what to call it) and it literally to-die-for-good! Food was such a big criteria for me and my husband for our wedding. We've been to SO many weddings with mediocre food and we're self-proclaimed foodies, that we just knew we had to pick a venue with good quality, delicious food. And Cipressi did not disappoint! Seriously, even if you don't host your wedding here, have dinner here. It's freakin' amazing! I wish we would've eaten there on another occasion during our week-long stay! Yum, yum yummm!! :) The best part was probably the most delicious fresh strawberry Italian wedding cake that was our dessert. Luckily, I remembered to ask that some be saved for my and my husband to enjoy on our honeymoon. :)
I never felt rushed to leave the venue at the end of the night. We knew we had the venue until 11pm, so we had already planned for everyone to go to Pub L'orso. So it wasn't a big deal at all.
Rooms:
We stayed in Manzoni honeymoon suite and because it was situated on the corner, it had wonderful views of Villa Monestero. The room photographed beautifully the morning of the wedding while I was getting ready. This room isn't separated from the main hotel, but we never felt crowded or even that we were by anyone else. It was pricey, but it was for our wedding, so well worth it! :)
One complaint, was that the night before the wedding we booked a double bed room for my husband to stay in and added another bed so his two groomsmen could stay with him the night before. This small room on the other side of the hotel ended up costing only 20 euros less than the Manzoni suite. So, had we known, we would've booked another suite for the guys because it was a small, cramped room!
WIFI strength wasn't the best, but you're on Lake Como, do you REALLY need internet? :)
Cipressi surpassed all of our expectations in terms of food, customer service, the Manzoni suite quality, and views. It was so perfect. :)
Tips for management: add A/C and room service options! then you'll really be the perfect hotel! read more
