We were on the lower floor of this amazing treehouse. If you're not into the sound of the ocean,…read morelook elsewhere, but we loved it! It's the best white noise in the world! The fact that there's no front wall means that on those rare occasions when someone is below you, they can see you if you are right by the edge. But you only have to back up a few feet and you're hidden. And it's definitely worth it for the effect of being so close to the ocean. They provide snorkeling gear, and you can step into the water from just a few feet from your door. And the tiny inlet right there had tons of cool fish! I could have snorkeled all day! There's also a very small beach nearby. Otherwise, you're a pretty decent walk from town and the main beach. It was off-putting the first night we went to dinner, but Yelapa is so beautiful (and there's no hurry to do things) that we came to appreciate the nice walk to and from town. And you can't really snorkel at the main beach anyway! A couple little issues: the bed was extremely hard. We both like firm beds, but this was just too much and neither of us got a good night's sleep. There were two beds and we actually only tried one because it was in a better location (the other was right by the door and would get the blazing morning sun). But it's possible the other bed was softer, though it looked the same. The other little issue was that there wasn't really anyplace to put your clothes and bags. We didn't have much, but we ended up just keeping it on the other bed. They rented out kayaks for something like 10 pesos. When you're charging someone $100/night, you ought to just throw in the kayaks for free! But it wasn't a big deal and it was very convenient to be able to kayak from right out your door. I'd stay there again, though I'd like to try to plan a family trip and stay in the penthouse with 6 or more of us.

It's an open air structure so if you are a light sleeper, it's probably not the best place for you. Bring an eye mask as the sunlight is bright. The only negative we experienced was there was a terrible thunderstorm at night and the unit got flooded as well as filled with creepy crawlies that sought higher ground. Having said that, the staff laid out concrete the next day and we were fine the next night. Overall, we really enjoyed the stay.

The workers that couldn't go home were housed. The guests, like me, that were checking out were allowed to book another night, even though they were in a sold out status. The hotel mgmt took care of all of us in such a beautifully kind manner which allowed us to find some safety while the town was burning due to the car fires. The property is right on beach, has a family pool and adult swim area with hot tubs in both areas. We booked a hotel room that had a small pool access from the patio. They have 2 swim up bars, a children's play area, spa and an excellent workout room. I was told they will be renovating the hotel this summer 2026, which is needed in some areas, such as the spa. It was a very enjoyable visit other than the cartel action and I would stay here again if I come back to Puerto Vallarta.

Food: Several excellent restaurants but Buffett pricey, instead a 15 min walk to marina area for much more reasonable food. Great ice cream in lobby, opened til 11:00 pm too ! Gift shop needs expansion. It could be a money maker if it had more products to sell. Bummer. Water was pricey! 5$ for a bottle. Room: beautiful and get an ocean view. The sound of the ocean at night is awesome! Pillows were Devine.

I honestly am surprised there's no reviews for Majahuitas…read more If I could describe this place I would say it gives Tulum vibes in Puerto Vallarta. I was recommended this place instead of a pool party. I was a bit skeptical at first but was blown away by how beautiful and fun the whole experience went. Amazing photo opportunities, so much to explore in such a short time. Service was absolutely amazing they really do their best to make you feel taken care of. They offer an all-inclusive ticket that has all drinks and food included until 5:30pm for $150. this also includes a boat ride to and from the beach. The drinks were really good very good standard margarita and Mojito. Obviously shots as well. Once the all inclusive ends, you were able to purchase drinks by themselves or bottle service. The food was amazing from what I remember. This is amazing experience and I could not recommend it enough.

Shame on the new business trying to co-op/steal the 5-star reviews from ~7 years ago -- back when this was a magical location with eight casitas/bungalows and serene setting. Now it's "club" for music/food and weekend day-trips only. Maybe that's what you're looking for -- cool give it a shot. Business owners should close this old page, and start a new one called Majahuitas Club, and include info from website ("...DJs enticing your body to sway, then you are already part of the new 'beach lounge meets festival' movement." -Oct 2023).
