At the time I was Starwood Platinum, and I booked a King room with a view of the canal. As we checked in - after the train ride from Milan, the long water Vaporetto ride, and the cold walk from the square - the staff was quite friendly as they informed us ... I had been upgraded to a suite with a terrace on the top floor! Right across the canal from the room was the Basilica, with the Lagoon behind it and Lido off in the distance. The furnature was pure classical period style and the terrace was larger than my next room in Munich. Unfortunately it was February so the Terrace was of little use and some of the hotel facilities were not open. But it was fabulous anyway. Now, my stay may not be typical, not everyone gets upgraded to a $2,500/night hotel room. The location is great - easy walking to just about any part of Venezia. The staff was friendly and helpful. Not sure about wifi and connectivity - when we were in the room we weren't surfing the internet.

Located in the heart of Grand Canal it's so busy outside but once inside it all goes away and you're left with a peaceful and comfortable night of rest. Bonus was receiving two free glasses of prosecco with our stay. The location is so perfect and convenient for any place you would want to walk to or use a water taxi. If you're a super tourist, gondola stations are just outside the door as well. We opted not to do a gondola ride, it was more fun to watch and take pics. We had a room with a window on the alley, and our first night was a Saturday night. I can, without a doubt, verify that the folks in the area know how to have a good time. It was loud and it was fun. For me, this is not a criticism, but if you're wanting a quiet room, I'd suggest that you ask for a room in the back. What matters to you at a hotel? For me, it's the folks that work there, and everybody we bumped into, from the folks working the breakfast buffet, to the front desk, and the bar during happy hour, all seemed interested in making us happy. They did, and we were. Was the room nice? Yep, a bit crowded and we did have questions about the temperature controls, and so Rick Steves would probably tell you, "Suck it up buttercup." er ah..." The control of the air conditioning and heating in Italy is seasonal, and so there are months when the air is not turned on." One of those is October, and so if you're like me, you go and open the window, but know that it doesn't have a screen... There was champagne and snacks waiting in the room for us There is a giant bath tub with jets and they provide robes and slippers for you to wear! The hotel staff are all so sweet. The location is good and, you can easily walk to the Rialto Bridge and St. Marks basilica/Doges palace. Their breakfast that is included has many options. They also have free snacks in the evening(5p-8p) if you get a drink at the hotel bar. I would highly recommend this place!!

It was August but there was a beautiful breeze coming off the water so we didn't need air conditioning. We found the (mostly Moroccan) staff to be very friendly and helpful. The concierge is somewhat helpful. I just like to explore and sniff out authentic places myself. The continental breakfast in the morning is typically Italian, so stick to your espresso and toast with butter and marmellata. Then enjoy exploring the alleys and canals of Venice. Getting back to this place at night can be challenging, but isn't that part of the fun?

Bathrooms are well designed and spacious with sufficient hooks and counter space. Service is extremely friendly and thoughtful. When we informed the desk we would check out early for a flight and needed a taxi, they arranged a large taxi for our snowboard bag without even asking. They also offered to prepare breakfast for us ahead of their regular hours but we declined. Nice touches around the hotel and rooms for Carnvale too. Not going to reach many users as Yelp doesn't seem to be a big thing in Europe but I would definitely recommend it.

The little bar area was inviting and pleasant. Our bartender was great and took care of us each afternoon when we came back in from being out. Nice breakfast setup indoor/outdoor. As I find in many hotels the water is hard to keep inside the shower stall! Rooms are quaint and clean.
